| | Cramps and pain mid-cycle??
My stupid body is being stupid again
For the past 6 months, since I got my period back after it went MIA at the beginning of the year (I had three cycles then it went away for almost 5 months), my cycles have been so weird (for me).
I get my period, bleed for 7 days straight (heavy for 5-6 days), I get little niggly cramps but nothing really compared to what I used to get pre-pregnancy. Then around day 10-12 (so 3-5 days after my period stops) I start getting cramps. At first I thought they might have been ovulation cramps, but they are as fierce as period pain, and they last for about 7-10 days. Then its all clear sailing until my period starts at about
That by itself was annoying but managable, but the past 2 months I've also been getting a really achey pain (TMI TMI TMI) low in my abdomin, and down into my vagina and bowels. A bit like really bad wind pain or constipation. I don't have any wind or constipation problems, but I am really bloated, and it does HURT (A LOT!) if I need to pass wind. It also turns into a searing hot pain throughout that whole lower abdomin area if I sit the wrong way, or twist the wrong way, or move too fast the wrong way...
I'm heading to the dr on Thursday, but just wanted to know if others have gone through something similar? What should I be asking for at the drs? I do have PCOS, but I've never had this happen before... do I need another ultrasound? I don't have a history of endometriosis, and there was none present at a lap I had in May 2007. Can it just pop up after having a baby??

Leash, your body sounds exactly like mine
My period pain has been much improved since giving birth to Luke, but the ovulation pain is excruciating.... I never remember having it before.
I asked Dr S about it, he said it's quite common as you get closer to 30yrs for period pain & ovulation pain to reverse... Something to do with oestrogen as you get older
As far as the pains in your lower abdomen, vagina & bowels... This could most likely be the scar tissue/adhesions from your c section. It's what mine is - I had endo from the age of 9yrs but it seemed to disappear after giving birth to Luke. Replaced fantastically by adhesions & scar tissue, lovely
I have the pain as you do if I get up or move suddenly in a certain way. I notice it a lot when I get out of bed in the mornings after laying down for a longer period of time.
Prob not much help, but if it's the same thing as me, I guess as horrid as it is, it's not dangerous.... Just another fab part of being a woman we have to live with
Good luck at the Dr xxx

Thanks darl. I hadn't even considered the c/s scar, I didn't know it could even do that (adhesions etc, never thought about it!). Hope you'll get some relief from it all for the next 7ish months LOL Oh, and Holly, if you start to go through anything else, let me know so I can expect it We must be body sisters or something! (not necessarily a good thing BTW! )

The pain you have described sounds like the ovulation pains I get. My period is similar to yours as well and then the mid-cycle pain starts anywhere from day 16 to day 23 and lasts 3-4 days.
Hopefully you can get some answers from the dr. GL

No worries, Leash
It could be from the actual c/s scar itself... but also inside as who knows what they do in there when getting the bub out.
I know adhesions can increase from one surgery to the next.... because I've had numerous laps & the c/s, it would be just more & more, which is why Dr S was really hesitant to do anymore laps etc on me
I find my pains & the ''pulling'' inside is on the sides (just in a little from my hips, so I guess around where the ovaries are).
I have found its really bad when I have wind or especially if I'm constipated. (or sometimes even if I'm using my bowels without any constipation )
The last few weeks its given me hell because of the constipation in the first trimester.
Dr S has reassured me the pain is no way effecting the baby so thats another thing to keep in mind when you decide to go there for a 2nd time
Acupuncture & chinese herbs have helped it ease, but I've just accepted that its here to stay as well - will be really interested to hear what the Dr has to say on Thursday xxx
