Post I have to study today. Probably won't cook, only for Yasmeenia

Oh my goodness, I must have missed one of your posting about Tiahna walking, Jess. Thanks amazing. My sisters baby walked at 10 months. She is a clever little one. Good on her

Plan for today: Buy vegetables for DD, cook them for her for lunch, haven't decided what to make her for dinner yet? Something with rice...I have to study today. Since I want to study today, I don't want to cook. I don't mind making things for DD and a quick dinner. I think I am going to be having sandwiches for the day or something like that. I hate cooking. I don't want to cook. I have to study.

sassy -

How cute.

LMK -

Wow. 3 kgs in 6 days? DD does the same. She eats her books sometimes. I have found her with paper in her mouth numerous times. It's so scary. She has ripped one of my novels once that I borrowed from the library. She has tried my text books too, but I always make sure they are out of reach. DH tells me off for having them laying around. It's on the table or the coach dammit.

Hi All,

Sorry, once again been a little slack...well actually kinda been a little busy.

Girl - No we don't and have never co-slept. I could never quite figure out how everyone did it....Cameron is such a mover - I was always to scared he would roll/crawl off the bed! We did try a couple of times and that's exactly where he headed . And also my DH is a truck driver (semi's), so sleep is very important for safety for himself and everyone else on the road.

Jess - Sorry to hear Tiahna's now sick...Cam had a cold a couple of weeks ago - the snot seems to finally cleared over the weekend! Hope she feels better soon.

Abb - How was your night alone...what girly movie did you end up watching? DH went out Friday night, so once again I put in Just Like Heaven, followed by Serendipity (I love these movies) .

Sassy - GRR to your partner going back on his deal...but glad you ended up taking advantage of it later. Maybe next weekend you could get a little drunk (before your dieting kicks in) and tell him you won't be able to attend to Jayda cause you'll be a little hungover this time

NaNa - No advise here either, but I'll offer a - actually make that a cause I know the other ladies would like to get in on it too for you. How many more weeks til you travel - are you having the chance yet to get organised for it?

Mis - I seen your picture on FB of the trial birthday cake...so jealous. Here I was just going to do a boring old blue iced sponge cake. But I'm going over to a mothers group lady's house tomorrow so we can gather some other ideas and trial it together (then taste test after ) - so you might have given me some inspiration to be a little more creative. Sorry to hear your having BF troubles now too.

AFM - well I think I'm giving up expressing now too....since Cam has refused boob, 4 weeks ago - I've been expressing what I can - then giving it as his night bottle (stored the extra - which we are starting to now use). I started out for the 1st week pumping 3-4 times a day, then found that hard when we had plans to go out, so trailled it down to morning and night, then over the last week I was only pumping 60mls morning and again at night - so started to wonder what was the point of doing 2 a day, so just did what I could once a day, and as of yesterday I decided I've had enough....I did a quick pump last night, cause I was a little unsure still, and only got 100mls - after a day and a half without- so today I think I'm 100% sure this is it! I do feel a little down about it at the same time as I'm feeling proud.

Besides that....Cam is still enjoying childcare - I think he is loving playing with the other kids. He did finger painting on Thursday, and really loved it apparently (last time we tried it at home, about 6weeks ago - he cried the entire time). Still no new teeth yet, but the have to be popping up soon - still dribbling big time (even the child carers have been putting a bib on him all day cause of the dribble) and a few night wake ups (this morning was 3am, then up at 5am - argh!!!).

He is really keen on trying to walk. He moves around holding onto the furniture so quickly and loves his walker - every few minutes he's up and going - then sooks until we come and turn him around. He also has started to let go of things when standing...but soon realises he's done it and grabs back quickly - though there has been a couple of topples where he didn't grab back.

Well that's all from me for now...DH has just got up - so off to spend some time with him and Cam (when he wakes up) before DH goes to work.

Bye for now,

OK, not so much whinging from me today. *breathe deep... this too shall pass...* It was a bad night, but that's nothing new.

LMK - sorry, I don't have you on FB or you would have seen pics of how much Aadi has a taste for books! Literally... he has destroyed lots of his own board books, but I am currently sitting amongst a pile of shredded Gourmet Traveller magazines. I don't know how many half-eaten pages I have fished out of Aadi's mouth today let alone in the last week... it's disgusting. I bet you must have been so terrified for that to happen to Abbie when you were so far away from home! I know DP is nowhere near as vigilant as me whenever Aadi's playing somewhere new or potentially dangerous (like the back yard!). Last night we were at a friend's place and they had lots of kidlets running around and burst balloons were going everywhere. I was scrambling around picking up all I could find, and DP (who's s'posed to be minding Aadi) asks me "why is Aadi coughing?". He's sitting in a corner choking on a piece of rubber, that's why! So once more I've got my fingers down his throat trying to get the stuff out and not get bitten at the same time! ack!

Abb - How was your big night in?? Sounds divine... I bet planning DD's birthday party is causing you a few worries though! Eeek! Girls and boys! 13 year-olds! scary stuff...

Bec - I'm sorry you're having to give up the BF. But I guess Cam knows what he wants, and he's a big enough boy now to not need it (even if it makes you sad!). You've done great to go this far, and to keep expressing too. That's such hard work. You should be proud, and now you get the chance to reclaim your BBs for yourself (and DH, too maybe? heheh).
It is so great that Cam is loving daycare, and must be a relief for you that he's in good hands and enjoying himself while you have to go back to work.

Mis - You mean to say you STILL haven't got a vapouriser? oooh, you're naughty! Get thee to a chemist, quickly! No, they're not cheap. About $40-$60 but worth it. I have a EucyBear one. It's green, but I'll get over it!
I hope you get something you need from Tresillian, whether it be support, ideas, anything... you deserve it. And don't worry about venting or destressing in here. Up to you, but I've certainly done my share of it!
I'm not certain if we will actually move overseas again any time soon, but it's entirely possible. I'm dreading the 14+ hours flying time coming up next month, especially since sedation doesn't work on Aadi-Xtreme-Bebe...

Girl - I'll pop over and cook for you, if you babysit Aadi, ok?? hahahaha!! No, that would drive you crazy. Good luck with your study!

Sassy - tell your DP I think he's being a poo! No, don't do that... but he is LOL! What a bum deal.
I hope the duromine helps you, and you can maintain the willpower and determination you need to achieve all your goals.

Jess - I hope Tiahna's feeling better soon. Poor chicken...

Well, Aadi's walking around with his walker/pusher thing a lot more now. Actually, no, he's running around with it. Walking is tooooo slow for him! He'll probably run first, then go back and walk like he did with commando crawling first, standing up, and then crawling properly! He leans on the coffee table and cruises around with the aide of all the furniture, walls, my legs, etc. but he will not stand on his own for more than a second and wont be helped to walk. He plonks down on his bottom and sooks and throws a tantrum at my feet until I pick him up. This happens a lot, so my back is getting extremely strong, and sore...

OK, DP's just put the kid to bed. Now it's time to go to work for me!

Hi Girls
Well i had a good night, I let Hamish stay up until 8pm as i kinda felt funny being alone but goos in a way. I made myself a discustingly junk food snack and a big glass of coke, hopped in my pj's snuggles on the couch, i first watched He's just not that into you, i love that movie, it so reminds me off my best friend and i when we were single and i have now watched it 3 times. Then i watched Marley and Me again, one of my favourites, such a tear jerker. I then when to bed spread out everywhere, almost fell asleep instantly, then was woken at 4am by the worst noise and storm ever, the wind and rain was actually frightening, It was so loud. I got up and checked Hamish but he slept through the entire thing, i finally got back to sleep around 5 then the stupid car alarm went off, apparently it has happen before according to James that with such strong winds etc it can set it off, but not once like 5 times omg i was so furious and stupid as i just kept turning it off until the 5th time i realised um if i just leave car unlocked it wont go off again..doh.. So up until 4am it was great..lol

NaNa - Omg on maybe moving but i guess with no family etc, you need to reassess what is best for you guys, good luck with your decision.
Bec - glad Cam is fitting in to daycare, it must be a relief knowing he enjoys it.
Nikki - yay on the weight loss, my doc wont give it to me atm, i have to wait until i see specialist about other health issues next week first.
Sass - grr at dh, glad you went back to bed though and took advntage of it, good for you.
Mis T - Hope stanks is ok and it was just a one off being sick.. Expressing is the pits, i hated it, seems like a never ending task.
Jess - I hope TIahna gets better quickly, i hate it when they are sick, poor things..

Not long until there birthdays now, who's bubba is first? I think Hamish is last almost along with a few on the same day.

Just checking if my new username is working.

Nana -

How is he with other people? For example, if left with your mother? Sorry if you have been asked this question before. I would love for you to cook for me. You are a chef after all. I am still jealous of your partner. He must be eating like a King. Nana, they love books at this stage of their life. Lol. Tastes good to them I can't stop Yasmeenia. DD enjoys her walker also. Especially when he are outside, the front yard or the backyard. She wears her hat. She needs sunglasses soon. I hate Perth - the weather! After playing outside with her walker, she comes back hungry and tired. Lol. From all that running and making noises. She sometimes goes near the plants, pulls it off and eats it. I totally forgot to saying - you are moving to what? Paris? Wow. That's a big decision to make. I can't imagine living outside Australia although I once lived in New Zealand as a child.

Bec -

She has been sleeping with me since she was 6 months. She has yet to fall off the bed. She has fallen off the coach twice, nothing serious. But it scared the hell out of me. She doesn't move around much. She does like to have her own space but doesn't want me too far. Right now she is sleeping on our bed. I always check on it often. Tonight she went to sleep a bit late because she had a very long nap today 3 hours! She normally sleeps for two hours during the day.

I am off to bed. It's almost midnight.

The latest from DP is that he wants to move to Africa. Ghana, to be specific. I'm so tired I just don't care right now, and DP is so pi$$ed off that I seem so ungrateful about him wanting to have a better life for us. Um, whatever. I'm tired. Aadi climbed out of the cot and crashed into me sleeping on the floor last night. I don't want to think about moving to Africa, where there is never going to be the sort of specialist help this kid is going to obviously need. Yeah, there might be cleaners and cooks, but paediatricians and family members I actually know or trust? Not likely. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't win!

Girl - or whoever you are now - my mother is 2500km away in Qld. And she is so hyper and manic that I actually told her not to come stay with us. I know she means well and would like to help, but the simple fact is Aadi doesn't know how to stay asleep and nobody can help with that, it seems.

Girl it take a few days, maybe even a week i think.

Sass - Hamish goes to be at 7 usually, 7.30pm at the latest and he wakes between 7 and 7.30am. he has a morning sleep for about 1 and 1/2 hours and the same in the afternoon.

NaNa - i cant begin to imagine what you are going through without having to think about moving to Africa omg that is major. I have no advice for you but wish things would get better for you *hugs*..

um, AF came today And Aadi only napped 20 minutes this morning and THAT'S IT! Screamed in public, threw tantrums at my friend's place, but acted like a total angel at playgroup so they still don't understand why I look so haggard or believe me when I tell them all these horror stories about my nights... is this my payback for not having morning sickness?

Apart from Aadi (no offense nana) does everyone elses bubs sleep through?

Today was a good day in that we didnt have any formula top ups. YAHOO!! But poo in that it took 3 hours to get him to sleep tonight. He was so upset and sobbing. Its a good thing nanny was here tonight. XP gave him muesli so not sure if thats what caused it, thats the only thing out of the ordinary.

NaNa - That is so major about Africa. I cant believe that you are having so many problems *hugs* It must be so very terribly frustrating for you. Stupid question time - you said that your mum is hyper and manic could it be somewhat an inherited gene? I know that sounds silly now that ive typed it. No i still havent gotten the vaporiser. But with Mr Ruddy's money its at the top of the list of things we just havent been able to get but shouldve. That and fixing the car so i can stop looking like a yobbo and lifting my hood before i go anywhere

Sass - I have no idea about the Duromine but i did see a thread around here somewhere in passing about it??

Its stanks first day back at FDC tomorrow, not sure whether to just slowly reintroduce or just see how he goes. Guess ill see.

mis: there are 2 threads in the diet and weightloss section. the one that just says duromine has become our little support group.
Jayda was sleeping through perfectly but latly she has been waking up a few times usually it is a few pats and she is back down but over the weekend we were up at 3 for a play for 2 hrs.

nana: i know wat u mean about no one realising wat ur goign through because they act like angels around other people. i have a challenging boy that comes here and his mum is about to go insane cause everyone loves him and thinks the sun shine out of his bum. he is alot better for me but still challenging. after lunch when the kids r playing outside my nana comes out and sits with us and she thinks she is perfect and thinks i pick on him lol.
lol about the pay back for ms. i got my Af like a week after i stopped bleeding from the birth so i def got payback for somethign lol. i was actually thinkin the other day it would be preg again so i woudlnt have to put up with it lol.

abb: wow lucky u. jayda is 830 to bed 630 to 7 rise and we get just under a hr sleep at lunch time and if we r lucky she might have another 30min one in the arvo.

i got some soy milk gonna try her on that today. DH doesnt think it is the cows milk but. cause she is fine with it during hte day but if it goes in her night bottle she screams all night. and i mean like 30mls if that. but ill see how she goes with the soy. poor bub it tastes like poo lol.

omg these tabs r great. i got up this morning done nearly 30min on the tread mill with actual running in it lol. then 10min on the weights and now i feel like i coudl do it all over again. cleaned up the kitchen. yesterday i got 2 garbage bags full of stuff to chuck out of the daycare room. dunno where it all came from it still looks like a mess. its that bad Dh is takin stuff to work to put in the skip cause our bin is so full lol.

i was thinkin of changing my user name but i would prob confuse myself thinking y is that chick copying everythign i write lol. plus i am sassy123 on other things i am a member too so it is easy to remember.

Hey Ladies...

Havent read through cos DD is sick and very sooky and clingy but will do a quick post... pitty the amber necklace cant fix that... lol... i got one for DP (i read they help for other things) he always has neck pain and since wearing it has had none)

No sleeping through here tracy.

NaNa- i really worry bout u hun... i know what i went through and it sounds like your going through the same if not worse... Why dont u ask DP to move to sydney... then i can come give u a break hun,... lol. Also wondering... is Aadi screaming when he wakes??? could he have an underlying issue perhaps??? not saying it is this but a friend of mine just found out her boy has a hernia... no symptoms except no sleeping waking up screaming, always sooky demanding he's 13 months and they just found out. poor bubs had been in pain and discomfort... since getting fixed up he's an angel... (only wish there could have been an issue with my son... lol... jks)

we've just been to the paediatric chiropractor, and Aadi had an adjustment. His neck was quite stiff and sore, and there was a vertebrae a bit out of place right near the nerve centre in the brain stem that governs sleep. Hmmmm.... could have been like that from birth, but fortunately it hasn't affected BF or development, which is often the case in that sort of problem. What the chiro said made a lot of sense, especially in that often when kids have a sore neck (and no vocal skills to communicate it), they'll keep moving a lot when they're awake as it helps ease the pain. Well, Aadi never stops moving! And also, since he's most probably in pain when he's been lying still while sleeping, when he reaches the end of a sleep cycle instead of moving into the next one and staying asleep, he feels discomfort and wakes up screaming and quite often moving. He is often crawling and standing before he's actually awake, and tends to bang into the end of the cot in his hurry to get somewhere with his eyes closed! Anyway, I feel a lot of relief after talking to this doctor, and hopefully Aadi will too. We have a couple of follow-up appointments, but we'll be monitoring how things go over the next few days for signs of improvement. Fingers crossed. I would hate to find that he has a hernia or anything internal requiring surgery, since DP had surgery to repair a hernia in October the year before last and he was a terrible sook about it! The GP has already checked for that, tho, so it's ok.

Mis - about the possibly inherited mania... yes, it's possible. And on top of that, both my dad and DP's dad are intense, hyper people too. DP and I are the odd ones out in our families, in that we're quiet, placid, and in my case anyway, sensible! My mum's just a bit of a basket case, and needs to be perpetually doing things and busy, and if she feels like a martyr then that's even better. I hope, tho, that Aadi is like his father in that he was a monsta child until about 3, then calmed down dramatically. Oh, but that was the age he moved to Africa... crap. Scratch that!

I got 5 txt messages from friends to watch Insight on SBS last night. It was about sleep, or what the lack of it does to you. So I watched it (so rarely watch tv anymore). I found it interesting to hear from a doctor at Westmead that sleep deprivation in small children can often present as ADHD symptoms. No advice though! oh well. that what we're doing will work soon.

Hope you're all having a toasty warm day. It's icy here.

NaNa i that this is why Aadi is not sleeping and it may very well be. I have been taking Hamish to the chiro since 8 weeks and i think she has been fantastic. Hopefully it sorts things out for you. I was just thinking the first time i took him we went home he had a feed and slept for 4 or 5 hours and i was worried but apparently it is normal and i hope Aasdi has a big sleep for you and continues to do so. If not well there was no harm in trying hey.
Mis T - yay on no top ups, the expressing is obviously boosting your supply. Hamish sleeps 11 to 12 hours every night, i am blessed i know and feel bad about writing how good a sleeper he is and wonder sometimes if it will jinx it.. How did stanks go at fdc?
Sass - glad the diet is going well for you. Yes we are lucky with the sleep.
Jess - I hope Tiahna feels better soon. I didn't know you can get the amber necklaces for adults, i also suffer from sore neck, might look into it.
Bec - How is work going? I know it must feel weird to be back after not working for a long time. I am sure you will be fine and Cam will enjoy day care.
Nikki - how is the tablets going? Are you getting any sleep with them?

Hi to everyone else.
AFM we had Hamish's photo's done professionaly today, dont get them back for a few weeks but i think they will be good, he was very happy and smiled and laughed so much, the ladies loved him and he certainly turned on the charm as usual. He is 11 months today i just cant believe how fast this year has gone. Have done his invites for his party and ordered the cake from my aunty so thats it for awhile, have couple of other birthdays to do before hand. Ok best be off.

Nana -

It's great to hear about that. Finally your poor little man will become a better sleeper. The poor darling.

Question:

Is anyone giving their DD/DS a flu vaccination? I am going to the OB at our local GP and talk to him/her about the flu vaccination. DD is always sick once she starts doing to daycare. I think I will be getting it to myself.

I might not be online for at least a week. I have two assignments due next week Friday. Wish me good luck ladies. Bye for now
