peach: woot on the tat! i wanna see (but im far too chicken to get one!) hope you have fun playing pool!

sterla: the only person whoes looked after DJ other then me is DH. and thats only been in the last month becuase i feel that with another bub on the way DH kind of needs to learn how to deal with settling DJ ect. but in saying that the only long-ish period of time i've left DH and DJ together he was at his mum and dads but let your mum be upset, she needs to understand something. shes the granma, you have the last word not her and you dont need to make her 'happy' if it makes you misrable in doing so KWIM? and question HOW THE HELL did the monkeys get syphilis...unless some one likes 'fooling around' with animals

AFM: BAH its hot! 31 today! sooo not looking forward to summer time thats for sure! going out for tea for DHs b'day tonight. should be fun! - but finding something to wear that is loose around the belly is harder then i thought. but i got there. Oh i went to a car boot sale to see MIL today. which was nice, other then her oldest friend (friends for 45yrs + ) didnt look to happy when i told her i a) gave birth in a bath B) chris was there and c) i flat out refused to lay on my back & went on to explain how much better it is to birth whilest on all fours/squatting ect. whoops, should learn to keep my birth activeisim up my sleeve huh? LOL
Better go and wash out some bottles for tonight!
hope every one is having a cool(er night then i am!) night

morning laides!
Dinner was an epic fail last night. got there late. loud music + over tired DJ = BAD then to top it off some punk biatch of a man was really rude when me, DH MIL & FIL tried to walk though a gaming room to an out side part becase i had DJ in my arms the pr!ck was like "sorry no kids" and when we tired to explain we where walking out side he was "no kids" in a really rude tone! preg hormones took over and i got to choose, cry or get angry, so i got angry and FIL made a complaint for me. i've worked in hospitality (in a pub for 4 months) and i know why the guy *has* to say what he did but his tone was horrable and hes lucky i didnt get stuck into him about. he also failed to point out any signs regarding going inthere with DJ in my arms (other then a 'dont leave children in cars' sign i saw nothing else) i havent been that angry in a while it upset DH becuase it was for his birthday and all we might be going out next weekend/week as DH has taken a week off before one of my relatives wedding. which i'm ing i still fit into the out-fit i've got for it!
oo better go DJ is hungry (well thristy but i'm giving him milk as he isnt drinking alot of water yet)
hope every one is staying cool (its bloody 32 here today 0_0 )

Hi ladies

PJ: Good to see you still about . Like Dansta said, try not to worry about Summer's crawling . I have heard of so many stories where bub doesn't crawl till 13-14 months - but will then start walking the very next day. I think 6-10 months is average, so Summer is still well within that - and later isn't unusual either.
The pool I go to has a bunch of different pools - the baby pool is really shallow (0.35m) and is really warm, like a big bath. Then there are other pools that are 0.5m and 0.9m. That's where I take Oliver, but there are other deeper pools (lap pools, etc) there too. Definitely take Summer - sounds like she loved it, and it's great to get them used to the water so they're not scared later on.

Dansta: Sorry that your dinner didn't go well . What a stupid man in the gaming room! I hope your next dinner is better.
I know what you mean about the heat. Where I am in Tassie is having a weird late spring heat wave. Out of nowhere we've gone from having 18 degree days to 30 degree days! Too hot!!! I am so glad we have an air conditioner!!! I hope it settles down, and that this isn't the start of summer, cause if it is - I hate to think what the middle of summer is going to be like .
Still feeling good? Any ms or cravings, etc yet?

AFM: Hot here today - 31 degrees. Oliver and I managed to keep fairly cool though - just laid low at home with the air con going.
Oliver is a force to be reckoned with. He can now pull himself to standing on everything and so spends all day doing it. He does it in his cot now too, so everytime we go to get him after a sleep he's there standing up waiting for us, lol. He's also getting really good at scooting along the furniture - he'll stand up at the coffee table then move along the sofa... usually to get something like my handbag or the remotes. He's also perfected getting back on his butt from standing. It's all so fast!!!

Hope everyone is well and having a good night .

sterla: i saw the pics on FB of Oli and they are soo cute! such a clever boy he is! a friend of mine still has her bub in her room and when she ignores him/cant get to him quick enough he's taken to throwing stuff off a chest of drawers i can see oli looking more and more like you though!

AFM: not been feeling too bad. as for cravings? i had one for french dressing last night. and carrot. I'll BBL - going shopping for a wedding gift today. FUN with one of the mums from MG hope every one stays cool!

gah im going to have a little whinge!

last night was a horrable night for DJ and I. DJ is teething. last time we had a few hours of gizzles sorted out by padole/ cold flannal to chew on. this time? nothing worked. i tried padole, teething gel, that brouers teething stuff cold flannal he wouldnt take a bottle so at 3am i went arg! and got one strait out of the fridge (so cold as) and he took almost the wholething, i'd tried room temp. but i guess he wanted it cold but i got really, really peeved at DH, he woke up around 1am got up closed two doors and went back to bed, he didnt bother seeing if i was dealing with it ok (last time i had a night like this was in hopsital with failure to thrive and i was alone for that too) and when i got to bed at 3:45am (i think it was) he had to be up at 5am so he turns his light on, knowing full well its BRIGHT as hell and woke me up, so i was fairly p i s s y with him. i got up shut DJ's door and he was like "sorry i didnt mean to wake you up" and i hissed back "well how about you lean to get dressed in the dark? or creep into the bathroom to get dressed, i had to do that when i started work early so i didnt wake you how come its hard for you todo that for ME when i've been up most of the night with OUR SON?" he said sorry and slinked off. i think he realised i was annoied he didnt come and see how i was. i better be off and see if DJ wil eat some water mellon

Hi ladies and babies!

Peach: Hey, how are you going? Get much reading done? I should do that - devote a day or two to reading... I have a book on my nightstand that I've been trying to read for months and months, and I have some parenting books out from the library that I'm yet to open. What are you reading?
How is Winter going? Keeping you busy?

Dansta: Awww - it's hard some times isn't it? And in the middle of the night with a screaming baby makes it feel 10 times worse again, and then you have pg hormones to make it 10 times worse again! . Men...

PJ: What new computer did you get, cause it sounds exactly like my new one. When I type on my keyboard it will suddenly move the cursor so I start typing several lines up... grrrr! I'm not sure if the keyboard is just set out differently and I'm still not used to it, but it's very frustrating!
That's great that Summer is getting better

Moose: How are you? Flat out as usual .

How is everyone else doing - all those lurkers... I know you're out there!!!

AFM: We are great. Oliver is so full-on now... standing up on everything (even walls and doors), walking along the furniture, crawling like a pro and getting into everything. I swear, I spend half the day picking him up and moving him somewhere else before he gets into something he shouldn't! *Note to self: must do a better job of baby-proofing*
We lowered the base in his cot because he keeps standing up in there, and DH and I were getting paranoid about him falling out. Now he looks like he's in a little cage, lol.
Yesterday afternoon, Oliver decided that sleep is well and truly overrated - he was up from 10.30am until bedtime at 8pm! He actually did fall asleep on me about 5.30pm when I fed him, but if I'd let him sleep then it would have mucked the rest of the evening/night up. He was so out of it then though - so tired.
Mind you, last night ended up being a shocker. I don't think I got any sleep until 2am, cause every time I'd be close to sleep Oliver would wake up again for yet another cuddle! Then he was up and down after 2am too, and awake again at 6.30am. DH got up with him then though, so I got another hour or so then. He's very sleepy today.

Today is actually my and DH's anniversary (not our wedding one, our other one) - 10 years today! It's hard to believe - feels so surreal to think we've been together for an entire decade! We were just two shy, awkward 13 year olds , lol. I don't think we're going to celebrate - but our wedding anniversary is later this month, so we might just celebrate then.

Oh, and I have a stupid blocked ear. My right ear, I basically can't hear out of! It's so annoying, and I keep worrying that I'm not hearing things (mainly Oliver). Hopefully it will go away.

Anyway, I hope everyone is well.

AFM: im teething STILL! arg arg arg! so not happy. DJ is better now which is a good thing. and i wonder about teething gels, i've used (on me) both bonjela AND the herion one and neather have helped (other than making me feel with the taste!) Ohh and i got a speeding fine today. from 12 days ago (which is normal 12 days after the fact!) but DH and I cant remember who was driving the car that night, so we're hopeing to just ger a warning as i've not had any issues with speeding in the past and neather has DH...Ohh and we have a random rabbit running around our street DH and I tried catching it but failed. so hopefully if we see it again we'll be able to catch it and find its owners!

(and if DH will let me a little hidey hole for it so stray cats cant get it!)

Hey ladies,

Just a quick update from us, Sam has a cold, I have a cold and its 36 freaking degrees outside! NOT HAPPY JAN!! poor Sam is having issues falling asleep, I had to cuddle her to sleep this morning and again tonight, she's all stuffed up, I just wish I could give her some cold and flu medicine and fingers crossed she sleeps tonight, cause I am feeling like crapola myself and DH is at work tonight.

things around here have been insane as usual, but lots of family issues going on ( with DH's family) and its chewing up our spare time. Got a whole heap of stuff on ebay for Xmas for Sammy, it's gonna be hard not to give it to her before hand, she is currently so bored with her toys, so gave in a pop-up activity table we got this arvo.

Alright, as sad as it sounds, am gonna go chill out and most likely head to bed in the next hour, just in case I have an all nighter ahead of me.

Will catch up soon xx Hope everyone is well

Hi Ladies,

So its been a while! How is everyone?
Man its sooo bloody hot here today(and yesterday!) I cant even handle it! Good news though- we are getting insulation put in tmrw morning so that will make things much better.
Things here have been good... ok pretty darn good. Piglet has slept through the last 4 nights in a row!!! Hell yeah!!! Finally!!! DP and I are stoked, 9 months later we have a good sleeper. Im happy too I gave up on all the patting shusshing stuff as feeding her to sleep has just made our lives so much more peaceful.
Yesterday arvo after DP finished work we all went to the beach and took the Spawn into the water and let her crawl around in the sand, she loved it soooo much, we all had a blast it was great and honestly I almost had a tear in my eye at one point just thinking how lucky I am to have such a beautiful healthy and happy family, I love being the Mum

Moose- Thats so crap that you guys are sick, I hope it passes soon. Its so bad having a cold in the heat. What stuff did you get off ebay?
PJ- That is SO AWESOME Summer is rolling heaps!!!! That sucks bout your shoulder, and no doubt carrying Summer around dosnt help!
Sterla- Hello!!! What book are you trying to read? Did you finish the twilight series? Can you tell me the end?? Im re-reading 'The art of happiness' by the Dali Lama, it is brilliant and I highly reccommend it to everyone! Is your ear better? Did you and your Dh do anything for your anniversary? Not long till your Bday! Did you find a bag? How is Oli sleeping this week? I know what you mean about following Oli around all day....
I kind of feel like groundhog these last couple of weeks, like all I do is vacume and constantly fish things out of Piglets mouth... including a cat nail last friday AH!
Dansta- Have you caught the rabbit? How is the teething? And the unborn?

Hope everyone is well

Right - Oliver is finally down asleep, so I can catch up here.

Dansta: That's no good about teething . Poor DJ. Is he going any better now? Any new teeth to report? I think Oliver might be teething, though it's only a guess. I'm pretty sure I spotted some bumpy white gums, and he's been a bit out of sorts today, but I really don't know - that's the only signs I have.
That's so funny about the rabbit - sounds cute.
I can't believe you're 8 weeks pg already! How are you going?

PJ: That's so annoying about your computer. Mine still does the weird thing when I'm typing, but I'm sort of used to it now, so I don't notice as much anymore. (lol, while I was typing that I realised that I type without looking at the keyboard - go me! ).
Yay - go Summer - sounds like she's doing well with rolling and being up on her hands and knees. See! She will get there!

Moose: Hope you and Sammy are feeling better - colds suck!!! And the hot weather - you poor thing. I don't deal well with hot weather - I get so lethargic and grumpy... just as well I live in Tassie, lol.

Peach: Yay!!!! Woohoo!!! Go Winter - sleeping through 4 nights in a row, that is awesome for you! Now, can she just tell Oliver how to do it please? I'm all for feeding/rocking to sleep - that's all I do, and my and Oliver's lives are much more peaceful and much less stressful for it.
Awww, the beach sounds nice . We haven't taken Oliver yet, but I'm sure we will over the summer when DH finally takes some time off... Our weekends are so busy seeing family and friends that we never get a chance to do stuff as a family.

AFM: (and to answer all your questions Peach ) The book I'm reading is called Asking For Trouble - it's just a chic lit book by a British author - nice, light and fluffy for my tired brain! The Art of Happiness sounds great . Yup, I finished the Twilight series months ago - I read them very quickly! I'll probably re-read it one day. I want to see New Moon when it comes out too.
DH and I didn't end up doing anything for our anniversary - but we have our wedding anniversary later this month (day before my birthday), so we might just do something then - it will probably just be going out for lunch. I haven't found a nappy bag yet - but my mum knows that's what I want, and she knows where to get them from... not sure what's happening, but I'm sure I'll get one.
Oliver is sleeping okay - two wake ups the last few nights which is good for us.

We had a night away over the weekend for my mum's birthday. We drove to Devonport (an hour away from us) and went out for tea. Before we left Oliver was just starting to get tired, so I thought he'd sleep on the drive and be all refreshed for going out for tea... Wrong! He didn't sleep, was grumpy towards the end of the drive. Then once we got to the hotel I thought - well, I'll feed him and he'll fall asleep easily cause he's so tired, then he can have a sleep and be all refreshed for going out for tea... Wrong! He was too interested in the new surroundings to want to feed properly and for long enough to fall asleep. So, we went out for tea with a very, very tired little boy. He did surprisingly well though - was not his normal, happy self, but wasn't hugely cranky either... We got back to the hotel after tea and he had a feed and fell asleep very easily then. By the time he got to bed he'd been awake for 8.5 hours!!! Needless to say, he slept very well that night.
We went out for breakfast with everyone the next morning, and got home by midday. It was so exhausting though... I really find trips away so stressful. I shouldn't, cause I have such a good-tempered baby... but I honestly felt like I needed another weekend to recover... I'm still recovering now!

A quiet week for us this week. No MG, no playgroup, a friend I usually see has gastro...

Hope everyone is well... Now Oliver has woken up... that wasn't a long enough sleep *sigh*

Why no meet ups for you guys this week Sterla?
Far out, I can believe Oli can go so long without sleeping!! 8.5hrs??!!
Can you PM me the end of twilight? I only read up to new moon, far too angsty for me
I know what you mean about seeing everyone and not having time for family, its so important to have time to yourselves too. Im slowly learning to say no to people if I want time just with us three... its not easy though, esp when the granparents live an hour away and never see Bub.
Im slowly melting......so.....hot.....
