oh wow thread number 2!! except now i've forgotten all the things i was going to reply to (and a bit lazy to go back & check)
thank you to everyone for the words of support funnily enough, i got an e-newsletter from pinky mckay & one of the articles is 'don't let anybody 'should' on you' - good timing!!
cate - we have some leaks here overnight with our nappies as well, which are also a good size & on tightly, etc. i put it down to them being aldi nappies which i'd heard don't always do overnight (i try not to change corey unless he's really awake after a feed to keep him calm)...but maybe the boys are just heavy wetters?!
i just got a lovely surprise - one of my friends works for a winery in the mclaren vale & a box of six bottles of wine was just delivered! it's been over a year since i had a glass of wine which is hard to believe |

Sarah - I reckon it's time for that glass of wine.. I am considering one myself!
Hmm I should sign up for Pinky's newsletter I think, I need some info to read age by age for J, I have forgotten a lot...
I cant remember everyting from the last page - sorry!
I know with Noah he used to wet through a bit at night at diff times... def pointing the penis down helped and for some reason there was a stage when girl nappies worked better at night??? i know some people have used 2 nappies over each other at night. i just change jacob at every feed overnight (and he has about 3!) and that works so far here...
Had dinner out with DH last night (at 6pm lol) as I had a meeting to go to at 7... Jacob came with us and he was amazing - had a nap at the meeting but was then awake and up til about 10.30 when i finished... smiling and cooing at everyone!

Hi all, I just wanted to pop in and report back on Ash's check up today. He's put on a whopping 1.05kg in the last 4 weeks! woo hoo, I was sure he was getting heavier to hold on to! He's no 61cm long, which is up 3cm on last time. So now he is in the 50th percentile for height and weight which is great.
Gotta have a glass of wine Sarah! I love being able to have occassional one now, I didn't realise how much I had missed it when I was pregnant.
Glad you were able to have a nice dinner out MamaPan!

nothing really new here...just thought I'd subscribe to the new thread! We must be a chatty bunch. Lol. went to the Wagga show today...remind me not to go next year...same thing year after year, we were there for no more than 2 hours then came home again!
hope you all have a good night, full of sleep! Hayley is in bed at the moment, she hasn't slept much all day so has zonked out now.
Jess I second the others...is there a different doctor you can go and see? Sleep is really important, especially when you have older kids to look after as well as Anton. And not eating isn't healthy either..hugs hun I hope you are feeling better soon.

I posted this this morning and it was the last post on the page so I have no idea if anyone was able to read it!! Anyway sorry if it is a double up!!
I think it is great that so many of us have given a run down of how our days are, it really makes you realise that there is no 1 way to do anything and that each of us is doing a great job! It really puts into perspective for me that nothing I am doing is wrong as there is no wrong way!!
I can't believe miss excited and lotus flower you are talking about 000 and 00's!! Sam is still in 0000 and some of the legs are still too long!!! I think probably in around 3 weeks or so he will start growing out of them. He is mainly in Target stuff, but Bonds 000 wondersuits are definately getting a bit small. The rest of Bonds sizing seems normal, don't know why the wondersuits are so out of whack with everything else!!
LF - sorry to hear you guys have been so sick! I hope you are on the mend. That must have been awful.
Jasp - I think you are amazing, I don't think I personally would have perservered as long as you have. You have really been amazing and it shows just how much you love her. I think I would have given up weeks ago. Well done and you should be proud of yourself not down on yourself! 3 cheers for you!
Last few days Sam has been sleeping really well. I think with bath time it is the temp change as when i put a toy in front of him yesterday he calmed down! Still only making it at most for 1 hour but he is starting to grasp at toys and that is exciting! He has a bald patch of hair on the back of his head from being on his back so much!! His father thinks he is taking after him already!! Ha ha... beautiful day here in Sydney, I have a house full of packing boxes, trying to do a few boxes a day. It is meant to rain for the long weekend...bummer

Hey ladies sorry it's taken me so long to reply I didn't realise anyone had replied as I didnt get any notifications
Thanks for the advice. I think I just have moments think omg whats wrong with my baby and wonder if I'm doing everything I should be.
I'm sure he's fine he sounds pretty much on par with what your saying about your little ones.
We didn't like the health nurse we got sent to so we've decided to just stick with the doctors check ups. Everythings going fine with feeding and stuff so we think we should be right without her.
I don't know about the bonds sizes but with the myer/ DJ's clothes he's in size 0 They're a little big but he's growing so fast that if we buy clothes that fit him prefectly he's grown out of them in a week or two.

Sounds like Isaac's growing great guns Heather!
Hope you can get in to the docs soon Jess.
How did everyone's bubs go with daylights savings? Though I guess, there won't really be any effect for a few days.
Oliver had his appointment on Friday, he was 5.980kg and 62.3cm. So average sized, it's still odd to me! At this age Noah was over 7kg so my arms are very thankful!

lauren - so far, it's been okay with daylight savings...fingers crossed it stays this way! i hear you on the over 7kg - corey was 7.2kg at his last appt 2 weeks ago...maybe i'll end up with nicely toned arms?
jess - hope you're feeling better & manage to get in to see a dr sooner.
jas - how are you going?
jetta - how's the packing going? such a painful task! is sam still sleeping well?
miss e - wtg ash with the weight gain! i hear you on the occasional glass of wine - i feel like an adult again!!
mama pan - how lovely to have dinner out & with jacob being such a star!
corey had his first night in his cot last night. he's been in his pram bassinet most of the time so far but he's getting so big that he's almost grown out of it & we didn't want to wait till the last moment before we tried the transition to the cot! he probably would have gone down first go last night but i accidentally kicked a toy as DP put him down & that woke him up & he cracked it! it took us 3 goes but on the third go he went down sleepy but still awake & managed to self settle without any crying he did the same thing after his night feeds. such a relief! i don't expect every night to be that easy, but i feel so much better to know that he can actually sleep in his cot!

Sloane - wtg on the cot! It is a good sign that he likes it - i always think the cot must feel v big to them after being in a basinette. Though I guess not as much of a chg as from the womb to the basinette LOL! I am also thinking we will need to move Jacob into his cot soon - he is nearly falling over the edges of his moses basket!
Are any of you using sleeping bags? i have been wrapping J and this works really well but last night he wriggled so much that the wrap was over his head.. v scary... so i am thinking i need to use a sleeping bag now or stop wrapping... but he is a good sleeper and i dont wanto to rock the boat... anyone using a sleeping bag yet?
oh - sorry J seems to have woken so in i go to feed...

we've been using a sleeping bag for 3-4 weeks now i think. we never really wrapped corey - for one, i'm a terrible wrapper and he also seemed to get really hot & sweaty in a wrap. so we ended up just getting a grobag because they had such a good rep. he's had his best sleeps since we started using it. no idea whether that was the bag or a coincidence & him getting older, but i love it & he seems to as well. i also love that we can keep using them for ages rather than having to go through a de-swaddle process!

Hi,
I have just bought a summer sleeping bag for Eva. She wriggles out of her swaddle now. I have been thinking of setting up the porta cot for her this week because she wakes herself up by hitting the side of the basinette. I do love having her right beside me at night for feeds. Does anyone get up to feed at night?
Eva has slept from 9.30pm till 5.30am 2 nights in a row now. Her fussiness with feeding has stopped too thank goodness.
I met a mum and bub at a party on Saturday night. Her son was born on July 8 and he is 9.5kgs what a whooper...but very cute
