Wow...we got to another thread! Yay..I'm first!!!!
Skye....wow a toothy peg. Yes its a long drawn out process alright. Olivia teethed from 8 months til 26months. It explains why shes unsettled....along with being ill. Hope shes on the mend.
My girls are still sick. Am contemplating going back to the drs. Olivia has had a temp over the past few days and her cough is no better. Becca has bright yellow snot and is not feeding well nor sleeping too well. I have the vaporiser going but doesnt do much.
Got to run...Olivia has just got into the hydrozole cream...

Hi Girls,
So sorry to hear you have sick kiddies and bubbas I hope they get on the mend very soon, I hate the cold weather not that we are getting much up here in the sunny north!! I have been getting around in singlets and shorts.
Miss B is doing very well, nearly 7 1/2 months now! Dragging all around the house, doing my cleaning for me. No more teeth to report but in saying that I didn't even know she had teeth when her first came through at 4 1/2 months with the second close behind. Solids are going well but I have backed off on offering 3 times a day as I think she may be constipated? Has had formed little nuggets passed but not a big full nappy for abit over a week now but she doesn't seem in pain just that I can see her straining. What should I do? Am still breast feeding 5 times a day but she will only stay on for however long she wants and I do give her a sippy cup to play with and suck but I dont think she gets much water.
Must go and keep packing, we are going south for the weekend, Miss B's first plane ride aaaaahhhhh! I am so nervous! Are there any tips I should try? We dont get home til way past her bedtime so I am going to feed at the normal time on the plane and top her up when we get home just before bed? Am with the in laws so it should be very FUN FILLED (sarcasm *), I may miss the plane tomorrow, I wish. Hubby and I had a big blue after the 7 am breakfast date we had, cut short story - routine was put out which I didnt have a problem with but as I watched Miss B falling asleep in peoples arms I decided it was time to go and hubby said I am 'too controlling'. News flash - Miss B is content and happy (as inlaws say all the time because of me and the routine that they always want to destroy!! They are tryng to test me and crack me I'm sure, but NEVER will I, especially for the sake of MY DAUGHTER!! I feel better! Hope bubbas are good and talk soon

Hey Ladies,
Hope all the sick bubbas are getting better!! Bella is getting her top teeth at the moment and not that happy about it! She has her 2 bottom ones.
Not much else happening around here - Bella will be 7 months old on Monday and showing no interest in crawling - hates being on her tummy and just lives sitting up all then time! I guess she will figure it out at some stage!
Have a shocker of a headache and Bella has decided that she doesnt want a sleep today so neither can I!
Hope eveyone is well!!
Kate

Hi ladies. I just found this thread!!! So let me introduce us. I'm Kristy and my litle terror is Jack. He's my first baby. He's on solids and formula and his teeth are waiting to break through. Just started crawling but not sitting. And he loves wiggling
Just wondering when you'd take bubs for their next check up with CHN? Is it 8mths or 9?
Kristy

Hey kristie wlcome to our group, my next appointment is 8 months old...depends on your nurse. Jack sounds like fun!!!
Zoo- have fun on your trip...am sure you'll be fine. Rebecca was constipated not too long ago. Can you give her some water? Or put some brown suger in water or give prunes for breaky? I ended up using a suppository...moved out all the hard bits!
Kate hope youre feeling better. Bec can sit now for longer periods and rolls and rolls....not interested in getting up on all 4s yet!
Ok got to make dinner

Hi girls! Been a while since I have posted... My little cherub is just over 7 months now and we visited the health care nurse today for a checkup. She's over 9.5 kgs and is 71 cms tall (head 44 cms) so in the 95-97th percentile. She's having 5 BF's a day and 3 solids plus some 'snacks' of a rusk/cruskitt or apple/pear in a 'sock' thingy.
Kaitlyn isn't showing any signs of crawling yet and like Bella, she doesn't like being on her tummy at all & rolls onto her back as soon as I put her on her belly...hehe... My DS was the same so I'm guessing I'll have another 9 month (ish) crawler. She's got 2 teeth so far and says "mum mum mum" and "bub bub bub" but that's it...no "dad dad dad" here. She's also sitting up really well and if I trusted her not to fling herself backwards as she does very occassionally now, I wouldn't keep pillows behind her anymore.
Sleep hasn't been an easy thing to come by lately... DD has had a rough patch, as has DS because of sickness. Kaitlyn is doing 3 sleeps of about 20 minutes most days...she settles without a problem on her own but just can't resettle when she goes to the next stage. Does anyone else have that problem?
We've had a nasty vomit bug in our house this week so it hasn't been much fun but I think we've pulled through it now. It's hard being couped up inside for so long...especially with the rain & freezing wind.
I hope all the sick bubbas are on the mend and I hope you're all getting some sleep...

Duh, I came in yesterday for a reason then totally forgot what it was... I wanted to ask if any/many of you have swapped your car seats around to forward facing yet? We haven't done Kaitlyn's seat yet but I think we'll do it soon...so much easier in forward facing...

Ours is still read racing. TBH I hadn't given it a thought to turn it around I'll leave it the way it is for a while longer yet as it doesn't bother me.
I had a horrible night with Ruby She screamed for hours and wouldn't settle so she ended up in the bed with us. I'm thinking it might be teeth but two of her brothers are sick so it's probably that. I just know I'm so frigging tired today!

Hi girls,
It's been awhile since I've dropped in. Thanks for your concerns about Sienna!
She's much better now, she kicked that nasty cold. She's still a little chesty and coughs occasionally so I'll be looking into a vapouriser as suggested by the Dr.
The bleeding nose seems to have stopped thank goodness! Dr looked up her noise with the little camera thingo and said that she may have stuck something up her nose while playing such as her finger (takes after her daddy ) or a toy. He said it wasn't a major concern which was a massive relief.
We've been having huge sleeping probs with Sienna. She has now started screaming when we put her down to sleep, day and night. It's so heartbreaking and she does it even if I try and hold her off to sleep. It's like she's developed an allergy to sleeping. It's been very draining and a few times we've resorted to control crying as we're at an absolute loss as to what to do.
I hate hate hate control crying (Please note: I don't have any moral or ethical thoughts against it as I can't say I've really taken the time to study it throroughly, I just mean it upsets me terribly to hear my baby cry her little lungs out). The couple of times we've resorted to it, Sienna has cried for between 15 and 45 minutes, she starts losing her voice and then passes out from exhaustion. When she had the bleeding noise, it was much worse when she cried which was awful. So I don't think that's the road I want to go down (admittedly we haven't tried it repeatedly night after night, which may have had more of an effect)
AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
Anyhoo, we've booked into our local health cottage on the 17th July to get some much needed help. So fingers crossed
Well thats my (looong) vent, so onto better things...
Sienna still hasn't gotten the hang of crawling forwards, just lots of sliding backwards and rocking on her hands and knees so I'm sure it's close. Then I'll really know I'm alive!!
She's started waving which is too too cute, and is gurgling all sorts of wonderful noises like mummum, dadda, and bubba, as well as some random words (one of which sounds like "booga" which amuses my husband no end, lol). So apart from the sleeping issues, life has been wonderful with our gorgeous little one.
Sorry about the long post as usual! When I get the chance to blog on here, I make the most of it!!
Take care all xx

We havent changed our car seat around...supposed to wait til 9 kgs for our seat and I dont know how much she is. Am also happy to have her rear facing as it is much safer....each to their own though!
Both my girls have been sick for over 10 days. First trip to the gp they had a virus, second one they developed a chest infection each and Bec has an ear infection also. So am dishing out ABs 3 times a day. Now dh and I have caught the bug which is a pain in the buttt because I have organised a suprise birthday present for him on the 21st for his 30th bday. We are going to dive with the sharks, but i assume if we are sick they wont let us, so we are dosing up with cold and flu tablets and honey and lemon drinks. Fingers crossed hey!
Needless to say I am getting little sleep and by night time my patience is wearing very thin. I am so grumpy and just loose it a little too easy. I need to step back and reassess my parenting skills...I seem shout a little too much for my liking. I suppose my 2 year old is the brunt of it all.... Anyway I am off for an early night...

Morning Everyone,
Mini - I hope that girls get better soon!! And I hope that you can dive with the sharks! That sounds awesome!!
Sky - I hope that you get some sleep soon!!
Not much going on here - Bella still getting her top teeth - no sign of em yet but she is biting on everything hard and also drooling like a waterfall! I hope they come through soon as she isnt enjoying it much!
Bella just sits all day! She hates layong down now and can put her forhead on the floor and back up again and side to side to pick things up and never falls over now - still not rolling or likeing tummy time - can they crawl from sitting?? Im a bit worried about her not crawling or rolling?!!?
Still sleeps through evey night and her day sleeps are getting longer - how ever she has dropped her afternoon sleep - but means she is bed by 6.30 for the night so I can get a heap of things done!
I cant belive Bella is 7 months old!! I know it will fly by and I will be saying Bella is 1!!
Hope everyone is well!
Kate xox

Hi Mummies!!
I am sending lots and lots of get well and sleepy vibes to all that need them!! Our trip down south was good but bloody cold, Miss B wasn't too bad on the plane but am noting to self that I will never fly the 6am or 7pm flights to and from, bloody stupid with a baby but hey, thats my in laws for you Miss B was feral the next day and the one after that - just crying and clingy which made me cry because my baby is never like that. But, for the last 2 days I have my sunshine back so am very happy
Miss B is 7 and 1/2 months old now, sitting up on her own, having 5 breast feeds a day and eating 3 solids. 2 are in between feeds and the last is her dinner at 530/6 which I give her first before a bf, is this ok? She sleeps all night from 8 to 7 when my hubby goes in for a cuddle before work otherwise I think she would just stay in there! Is having 3 sleeps a day but the last one at 430 is more like a 45min recharge nap but I dont want to lose it yet because I get my coffee beak then When do you think I should wean down to 2 sleeps etc?
This is really long but I havent been on in a little while... Am wondering about baby number 2 but am not sure when a nice age would be? Not sure how I would cope etc?
Take Care

HEy girls.....I had a shocker of a night but I am actually watching my girls sitting next to each other...being nice.....and watching the wiggles.....bliss!
SkyeHugs, its hard with no sleep and you get at your wits end. I remember when Olivia was this age...or actually a bit older, she didnt sleep (not much changed) but she was up every night for 2 hours at a time screaming. I remember it up til just before Bec was born, then all the sudden it clicked and she slept through...not all the time but some times. Its hard when they are sick it throws them. You just have to be consistant with what you are doing, as tiring as it is, they will eventually get it. So if its sitting next to the cot patting to sleep for ages, then so be it. Then you can try and do less and less per night. Its so hard, but remember youre doing a good job.
Kate- Bella sounds like shes doing well. I wouldnt worry about crawling, its not a major milestone. She might go from sitting to cruising to walking and skip crawling all together. Bec can sit forever now but if she leans over, most of the time she will fall. She rolles alot..but thats it! She has no teeth as yet although I reckon they are not too far away. Hows Bellas head? Is it rounding out a bit??? I am sure it will be fine. When are you coming to melbourne next??? Was it you who was looking to catch up with everyone???
Zoo- sounds like you did alright on your trip. I have heard it take a little time to resettle after a flight. As for another baby and a good age....well I have 19 months between my girls and to be honest, it was/is hard. I wouldnt do any closer than that. However, now that rebecca is older, it is getting easier and Olivia does love her sister despite the fact that shes rough as guts with her. I like that age gap. If I was a lot youner (am 34 at the end of the year), I would have waited a while longer. Maybe have 2 and a half to 3 years between them. So for our next one....we will be having roughly the same age gap. So just before rebeccas 1st birthday I will actively start to ttc.
Us- girls are on the mend, even though they are sleeping poorly. Rebeccas cough sounds funny and I am errring to the side of croup. She has a high pitched sound at the end of the cough...seal like. Shes on ABs but I think they are not doing too much for her cough. her nose is much better though. Another trip to the gp!
Better go and feed myself.....I have lost 4kgs so far by cutting my portion size down and walking. Another 10 to go!
