Mummatotwo! is on the way
Default Non vaxers talk to me?

So we have decided to put a hold on all vaccines for our kids.

Not sure if we will vax later or not. But at the moment i dont support it enough to do it.

So im curious,
If you didnt vax? why? What lead you to this decision?

Im not after a debate. So if thats your intent to come in here and start then dotn bother.

I jsut want personal stories of your journey

I had my oldest two fully immunised because that's just what you did - you didn't question it you just did it, right on schedule. My third child has had all but her 4yo vaccinations and my nearly 2 yo has only been vaccinated to 6mths because by then I was starting to question it and it just didn't seem right. There was so much come out in the media about vaccinations and how vaccinated children were still getting the illnesses they were supposed to be protected against and even though you know there is a small percentage of children who will still get sick, the numbers were just too high for it to be for that reason kwim? It was like the wheels were falling off the propaganda machine for me and it just started to seem like a big con. Plus with my youngest he had a lot of gut issues with reflux, then started having some mild food intolerances when solids were started just after 6mths (rashes from sulphites and tomatoes, increased wind/reflux pain with some foods) and I just did not feel comfortable continuing with his vaccinations. Plus I don't agree with the 'one size fits all' policy of dosages - where a great big child will get the same size vaccination dose as a very small child and I just thought that can't be good - when you give a child panadol you don't give all children the same size dose in case they overdose, so why should vaccinations be any different kwim? And I wont even go on about all the additives they add to the vaccination that have no right to be in a child's body.

My DH and I do disagree on it however, but he is happy for now to have them delayed with the view to getting them done later (but I doubt it).

I have a 17yr old and a 15yr old both fully vaccinated like Trillian said because that's what you did.

I am now pg with #3 and still researching but leaning very strongly towards not vaxing.
This bub definitely will not be having the HepB shot at birth that to me is a completely unnecessary shot to a newborn that will not be at any risk of the disease...unless there's something the hospital isn't telling us???
The vitK I think I will also be declining.
The ingredients worry me in the vaccines, and the fact that it's only now that long term effects can actually be studied to see if any adverse effects are showing.
And as for the swine flu vax they want to give pg women, there is no way I would have that either just developed straight from the lab, where are the studies? What effects long and short does it have on people and unborn babies??
I'll be interested to read other posters opinions in this thread.

my ds has all vaxes up to 12 months.

I didn't see any point in getting him any more vaxes once he hit 12 months. I don't agree with the schedule and I don't believe my son would benefit from vax after 12 months.

The MMR one was a big thing for us, as the whole autism link etc. I did ALOT of research before making my decision and dh backed me all the way.

One thing you will find hard is when you visit the dr, they will really try and push it on you, but don't let them change your mind by pressuring you. It is YOUR decision not theirs!

The next baby we have will only have the whooping cough vax (I live on mid north coast, there is a big outbreak at the moment) but that is it.

Again here, got the first two fully vaxed because that's what you did. I fully believe that DD2 has severe allergies because I had flu shot whilst pregnant (can't BELIEVE my GP recommended it, since doing research I've discovered how awful it is,... and that it caused the allergies)>
DS I was really scared about whooping cough because it was going around DD's school just as DS was born, so I've done that one and unfortunately it came with 4 others in it. I have had two pneum vax's for him but dont want to have the third, and DH and I have just decided not to get the MMR> Again I have been reading and just dont think it's worth the risks.Coming from a history of allergies (nothing as severe as DD2's) I feel it would be silly of us to play with fire. there's also a close link with autism/allergies/asthma and adhd, so I would hate to get the vax and then DS get one of the above. Scary stuff.
DD2 due for 4 year one soon , so am going to research it. Only reason I would is becuase the whooping cough, it's still an epedemic around here. Need to find out more and will start researching soon xo
