Brisbane About Me:
I'm a 24 year old mum of 2 girls, Colby and Briley. To date, I have attended 5 births, 1 being a client of my own, the other 4 alongside a Qualified Doula.
Although always learning, I feel confident enough to support, inform and assist other women during their own special time. Philosophy on Birth:
Women deserve to make informed choices and be supported in them. Pregnancy and birth are special times in a womans life and we should feel completely supported and comfortable. Women have the right to give birth in a calm, safe and reassuring environment. What I Offer:
I provide informational, emotional and physical support to women and their families. I can also offer advice and support during the early days with your new baby. I am open to and supportive of ideas and intentions you may have for the labour and birth of your baby. As well as being a source of information if you'd like to find out more about your options.
I can be contacted either via PM or on email at doulasara@optusnet.com.au | Hi there!
Just updating that I am still on the look-out for 1 more certfying birth.
I am in Brisbane and willing to travel an hour in each direction.
Please feel free to PM me if you are interested!
Take Care!

I live in the Gippsland, Victoria area
I have completed my theory and now just need 3 births . I have 2 young children myself. I would love to be part of peoples pregnancy and birthing experiences. I am happy to do it for nothing or a minimal fee depending on travel.
Just a little bit of background, I am 24 and i am one of 5 children, i have attended all 4 of my sisters births (3 at home), I delivered my son in hospital with minimal (but some) intervention and delivered my daughter blissfully at home . I am passionate about birth, womens choices, advocating for people, being flexible to their wants and needs, health and wellbeing. I have also attended one other hospital birth and accidentally talked someone through a birth over the phone.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
Thankyou and take care
Jade

As a mother, I have first hand experience with waterbirthing (highly recommended ) and natural, drug free birthing of a baby whose head was certainly not in the optimum position for comfortable birthing! I've also had experience in tackling pregnancy with minimal support from an unwilling husband, leading to the challenge of single motherhood.
As a Doula my philosophy is - It's your body, your beliefs, your birth, your baby. I will support you in delivering your baby the way that you know you need to, providing as much information as I can to help you make important decisions, and supporting and advocating you through the birth so that you can focus on nothing at all but birthing your baby.
I live on the Northside of Brisbane, and am happy to support births in the home or hospital within a 30km radius (including but not restricted to the Mater, RBWH, Caboolture, Redcliffe hospitals as well as the many private hospitals on the Northside).
My email address is clairenceh@hotmail.com, and I would be privileged to hear from you.

Hi there!
I am just updating to say that I have finally booked my last certifying birth and will no longer be offering my services for free. However, for the time being I will be charging a reduced fee until I feel that my services are worth their value.
I would like to thank anyone who helped me along the way, without your support I would not have made it this far in my Doula travels!
Take Care!

Hi there!
I'm a Doula in Training with Childbirth International and am located on the Northside of Brisbane. I'm well into my coursework, and am already working with three mums to be.
My philosophy on birth is that it's your birth, your body. I'm here to offer you unbiased physical and emotional support during your pregnancy and birth, in whichever environment you choose.
I am a mum to one, with first hand experience waterbirthing in an Active Birth framework (although I didn't realise that at the time!!!). Although this was my choice for my own birthing experience, I know that one birthing formula doesn't fit everyone, and I will fully support you in however you choose to birth your baby.
I am happy to attend births as far South as the Mater, and as far North as Caboolture hospital. I am available for births from November 2009 onwards and, as I still consider myself to be "in training", will be charging an interim fee until I have certificate in hand!
Looking forward to hearing from you, either in reply to this post, or at birthbalancebeginnings@gmail.com

| | Looking for a F.N.QUEENSLAND MIDWIFE
Hello, my wife and i are looking for a midwife / Doula in the Far North Queensland area (cairns- Port douglas)??
We Have used a midwife with the birth of our previous two littleones (in S.A), and i believe it made everything much simpler and more personal.
We are Private people and basicly want a private birth. We also Believe we have a pre-emenant right to give birth the way our consiance determans, and not what quasi bi-laws determin.

Hi there,
I'm a student doula studying through Optimum Birth, looking for some willing women in Melbourne to let me support their births.
I have completed all of the course modules and now just need to attend 3 births.
A little about me - I am also a qualified massage therapist, nutritionist and natural fertility educator. My passion lies in helping couples achieve a natural, stress free conception, pregnancy and birth.
Though I haven't attended any births as yet, I'm confident I can give you the physical and emotional support you need.
I will not be charging any fees until I'm fully qualified.
If you are interested in my services please drop me an email at kate.oberin@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Kate

I truly believe no two births, women, or babies are the same, something we all need to remember in order to make a mother's birth optimal. I am an incredibly empathetic, caring, outgoing and funny person and I am very much looking forward to supporting a mum-to-be in one of the most important experiences of her life. Through my training I have become passionate about birth and ensuring that each woman's birth is made her own.
I am 28 years old and currently training with the Australian Doula College. I have finished all my study and now only need to attend two more births before I am certified.
Hope to hear from you soon!
x

Hi my name is Sarah and I'm a mummy to 2 beautiful children and I am currently creating another little person due in January.
I'm Training to be a Doula through Optimal Birth and would like to attend some births for experience and I?m in need for 3 births for my course. I'm available for births up until mid December but happy to give email and phone support to anyone expecting a bundle of joy.
I live in Ipswich and I'm covering the areas of Brisbane down to the gold coast.
A little bit about myself - I'm 25. I have had 2 different births being one induced birth due to medical problems and then one spontanious natural birth, both births were without pain relief. My new bundle of joy will hopefully be birthed into the water.
I believe labour and birth is a very natural and energising experience to go through. I support all types of labour and birth including home birth, induction, pain relief and c-sections. I'm a very calm and relaxed person and believe I can help you have a positive labour and birth.
If you wish to contact me and would like to meet up please email me on - sarah.doula@live.com.au
Thank you

I am after some advice/tips/reassurance from other doula's about how you handle drugs during labour and c-sections. I am usually not very good with needles, blood etc, any suggestions much appreciated.
