| | when did you organise your midwife/doula?
Hi,
Just a quick question. When did people start ringing and organising a private midwife/doula? I have already organised my OB, but was thinking of waiting until the end of the first trimester before ringing around for a midwife/doula.
Just wondering what others did!?
Thanks
Tracey

I saw a thread re a doula in my area in early February - I was about 7 weeks at the time. At that stage I was just making enquiries at the time but we met not long after that and then not too long after that DP and I decided to go with her.

it wont hurt organising a doula sooner rather than later.
from when i started looking and when i actually found one i liked, it was probably about 2 months. i found it hard organising to meet with them as i was either working or they were working.
also, 'shop around' til you find someone you really like. it would be awful of you left it too late and had to settle with someone you werent 100% sure of.

I found my doula quite early too! Half way through the first trimester I think.
