Twins or More Just when we thought having one baby was tricky enough, mums to multiples often have extra challenges with two or more babies of the same age. If you are a mum to twins or more, this is where you can exchange experiences and support with others.

Default How do you know?

How do you know if you are having twins- besides having the scan ofcourse?!

Both my DP and I are due for twins in the family, and I just wanted to know if there is any way to tell early? I have popped out already- just 6weeks 4days preggo... and everyones eyes are just POPPING out of their heads when I tell them how far along I am.

LOL... OK, I am impatient. But I really want to know!

'Hereditary' twins comes from the mum's side. If your ancestors had a higher incidence of non-identical twins they may have a genetic predisposition to release more than one egg each month. If you have also inherited this predisposition, you may be in luck!

Males always release millions of sperm, so twins on the male side of the family has little if any impact on your chances.

As far as I know, exaggerated symptoms can be a sign.
High HCG levels.

Hi Mamabones,

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

The differences between my 1st PG with DD and this PG with twins was the exaggerated symptoms in the first trimester. I was so hungry every 2 hours and really tired. I was lucky enough to escape MS both pregnancies but I have heard of that symptom being more intense too with twins.

Best wishes for the next 7 or so months!

Thanks ladies...

I am showing really early... and am fitting back into my maternity bras that I was wearing when breastfeeding my DD...

BUT... I was extremely ill with DD, but not a single sign of MS this time round! I am completely exhausted though, and everyone is commenting on that... have been asked if I am pregnant already too.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see!
