Twins or More Just when we thought having one baby was tricky enough, mums to multiples often have extra challenges with two or more babies of the same age. If you are a mum to twins or more, this is where you can exchange experiences and support with others.

Default General Discussion ~ Twins & More #5

Hello mums and dads of multiples

Please feel free to introduce yourself and your twins or more, maybe also describing the hardest part about being a parent to a multiple as well as the best part! Enjoy!

HI guys, very, very quiet in here.

Just wondering if anyone has been at total rock bottom. I am in the process of waiting for a place in the mother baby unit as I have just hit a brick wall. I am suffering from exhaustion and PND (late onset). Gabe is a terrible sleeper day and night, luckily Tallulah is perfect, but when she gets up every couple of nights, it just throws me into turmoil. I dont know how to sleep anymore. Or how to stayt awake. If I can get to sleep, it is extremely light and I have a headache and sore all over.

So I am pretty lost at the moment, and guess just want to feel like I am not alone on the difficult multiple journey.

Thank goodness I am not the only one feeling that way. I have not been on here since April as I had forgotten my password and never got around to resetting it until last night.

As you can see it is 0415 in the morning and my little devils are both awake

Ryan and Samuel are now almost 8 months (corrected age 6 months) They have both decided that they no longer want to sleep

Tuesday both boys were awake from 7am until 7pm with a total period of 40 minutes sleep, then during the night they woke 3 times. Ryan is full on rolling around his cot and ends up with arms and legs hanging out the side and he gets stuck. I go in and fix him up and settle him again, 5 minutes later he is kicking the side of the cot and giggling. Unfortunately it has got to the stage that I dont find it amusing anymore and school holidays are not helping either as the 5 and 10 year olds just want to make lots of noise and go places.

To top it off I had my gall bladder out last week with some complications, so I am not even supposed to be lifting the babies yet.

Have you been given any indication of waiting periods for the sleep centres Helen ? A girlfriend called QEC in Melbourne yesterday and was told she had a 6 week wait just for the phone consultation and then up to 6 months wait for the residential program ?

Just thought I would reply and let you know that you are definately not alone
