Oohhhh nice one hun!!!!!!!!!! Very jealous! Enjoy lots of great baking and good food ahead!!
I told DH the other day that I wanted to make bread, and he goes, "oh so do you need a Kitchen Aid do you?" and I said well no but now that you mention it!

Tan, when I saw that you had posted in here I thought "oh God, don't tell me she's got one of these too, and she doesn't use it"
Can you imagine! I would have to move interstate or I am sure Cai would come find me and my Kitchen Aid and French Oven!!!

I would dearly dearly love a Kitchen Aid Mixmaster. I've already decided upon Pistachio green as it has a 1950's look about it... and that would "go".

If you have a 70's style kitchen you could consider orange.

I love the Almond coloured one - but would go for red otherwise (good excuse to update my purple - yes you read right - purple kitchen).

But DH tells me that there are more important things in the world - I have asked him to write a list because I can't think of a single thing LOL

Seriously thinking of getting one. Either in pistachio or yellow to go with the way the house will be styled. May have half convinced DH by telling him that is has a sausage making attachment. The icecream attachment does look tempting as well. Just got to work out how to fully convince him. Maybe if I just point out how much money he wants to spend on tools, the cost of a KA will seem like nothing

Yay - you will love it. We got a red one for a wedding present nearly 4 years ago and I love it so much! At the time people thought we were crazy for putting a $700 mixer on our registry but DH's family put in and got it for us. Now when we have family do's they all are the first to eat whatever I bring (especially my pavlovas) because the kitchen helps whip up food so well. Enjoy your kitchenaid - you will not be one bit sorry for spending the money.

Unless you look at the prices of the same thing in the US and realise that they are less than A$400 over there....

thebear - they're pretty heavy though. I can't imagine the freight would be overly cheap to ship one out. Then you'd have to convert to our power plug wouldn't you which would probably cost more money?

I'm not suggesting that you buy one in the US, it just ****es me off when importers charge Aussie's twice the price of the product elsewhere in the world.

It's a great product, but it's worth looking at some of the alternatives too

I am getting a Kitchenaid So now all I need to do is pick the colour (thinking pistachio) and accessories. I need the mincer, so what else would be good?

The bear- yeah that really grates me too.

But i did get one for my 30th and i LOVE it. I got broing black, as we don't own the place we live in and i'm not sure of what my dream kitchen will look like when i finally get it!
(That combined with the fact a House store was closing down and had a sale on them, but only black and cream) I do need some attachments though, i saw the cookbook Cai and wondered if it was anygood. Beter go and have a closer look.

I love beating eggs for 10 min for a pav and doing other things like feeding DD at the same time. Ahh the small things eh??

Have taken the plunge and just ordered a yellow KA online (pistachio was out of stock). Also ordered the bowl covers and the attachment pack. It was on special, about $70 off, so I was willing to compromise on colour as I was happy with either. Hope I am happy with it, I was watching a shopping channel demo on it one morning. The icecream bowl is so tempting, but I think I can wait.

Feel a bit bad that I should have ordered it from a local store, but I just can't take the kids into one of those home stores without getting an ulcer.

Ooooh Astrid! You lucky duck!!! Is the yellow a soft tone? That sounds lovely too... I should visit their site for an update on available colours.

Let us know how the delivery process goes... I know what you mean about buying locally... but $70 is substantial. I often wonder if anyone has sucessfully ordered one from Peter's of Kensington for example... I think i'll probably just end up getting mine from Myer when the happy day arrives... and at least accumulate some of their loyalty points toward a gift voucher.
