Thankyou sooo much for doing this research Kelly! I'm with NIB and they were great in covering my DS's private Ob birth in 2003 and I'll be calling them to confirm the cost of having my own midwife attending my public hospital birth later this year.

I just wanted to add that HBA paid $1500 dollars towards our homebirth - prenatal and postnatal care in 2008. The birth was in December 2007.

We spoke to the person listed in Kelly's article.

hi guys...AHM also cover up to $600 for midwife assisted homebirths under their 'Top Hospital' cover!
