Good afternoon girls,
Hope you all had a good weekend
Jen - glad all is well and what a LOVELY gesture by your husband I was trying to play the "mothers day" card with my DP but to no avail! My mum got me an orchid and was in tears when she gave it to me. Shes a SHOCKER!
BG - I hope your ok and are able to get in to see your GP today. Please take care.
Murph - Hope all goes well tomorrow and you get some more answers that you need. Will be thinking of you. to everyone else.
AFM, I have officially reached the 12 wk mark!!!!! Am off to see my new OB tomorrow at lunchtime and then have my nuchal scan Wed morning so will feel more comfortable once Ive done that. My DP and I bought our first "baby" purchase yesterday while shopping. Just a pair of booties which my DP has now hung from one of the kitchen cupboards so I can see it everyday, hehe
Take care all,
Tania

Hi Girls
Sorry for the selfish post but I thought i should post whats been going on. On saturday night we were at a friends birthday party and kim came and told me she was bleeding. She said she felt a gush and went to the loo and her underwear was soaked with blood. It was 11.30pm but i rang our lovely doctor in the middle of the night and he said there wasnt much we could do about it but to go to bed and come in early in the morning.
So kim changed and put a pad on and in the morning there was only one spot of old blood on the pad. We went in fearing the worst. First our Dr had a look at the cervix which was still closed. There was a little bit of brown on the speculum but no bright red blood. Next the scan. We saw the baby moving around and the HB was good. Doc said he could see a little bit of blood near the cervix in the womb and that it may work itself out eventually, but that everything still looked good.
We have no idea where the blood came from. His little ultrasound machine isnt a big diagnostic one, so we dont really know if there is a subchorionic hematoma there or not. But the good news is that there has been no bleeding since. It was just that one gush and then it stopped totally. Hopefully it was just a burst blood vessel. The placenta is still fully joined as far as we can tell and the baby was moving about alot and moving its little arms and legs and head.
We had an appt for another scan tomorrow anyway, so we are still going back for that in the morning, for reassurance and to check on the baby. Looks like this pregnancy is going to send me grey... Our last pregnancy ended in M/C at about 7 weeks after a small bleed at 5.5 weeks. This bleed was way more. Am frightened and scared that this pregnancy will be complicated from now on...I feel so cheated not being able to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. How can this be happening to us again...

Two Mums, I had a couple of bleeds at 12 and 13 weeks. Scans showed a haematoma (however you spell it!) and the ob didn't tell us until later on that at 12 weeks the bleed was as big as the babies. The bleed eventually reabsorbed into my body and at 18 weeks we were given the all clear. It's a scary and emotional time when you can't relax and enjoy the pregnancy. Try and stay positive, easier said than done I know. Each day seems to drag by when you're hoping everything will be ok. I'm thinking of you both.
Miss Magpie, yay for 12 weeks! GL for your ob appt tomorrow and hoping your 12 week scan is awesome on Wednesday. It's amazing to see how developed the little bub is at 12 weeks.
BG, hope you're ok and you were able to get checked out today by your GP.
Jen, your charm sounds just perfect for a mum-to-be. Your DH earnt some brownie points with that choice!
Murph. Thinking of you. Hope your appt tomorrow gives you some answers.
Nicole, you know when you finish your ante-natal classes and appts move to weekly you are almost at the finish line! Hope you're feeling ok and tiredness hasn't kicked back in again too much.
Hi to all the other ladies. Hope you're all travelling along well.
AFM, ob appt today went well. We're still just bopping along one week to the next. Aother U/S tomorrow to check on the growth of the bubs, making sure they're behaving themselves and sharing nutrients.

two mums - so sorry to hear about the fright you had - am so glad your baby is ok today though! anything that isn't "normal" makes you fear so much with your pregnancy - and i think LTTTC puts you in that mindset from the get go. hopefully you can relax soon though...
didn't end up going to GP today - i was feeling ok-ish, baby going INSANE and i just decided i didn't want to be panicky so i didn't go. have Ob appointment tomorrow so will get thoroughly checked then anyway

Good morning lovely ladies,
Sorry i have been MIA - but i have been lurking and keeping tabs on you all!
TwoMums - oh god how scary - glad to hear everything in ok. It is so hard not to worry everyday i wonder if all is ok and if i have a good day with really no symptoms i wonder if i'm stilol pregnant at all.
BG - glad to hear you are feeling a little better - don't worry about being panicky - thats our job! Take care.
Kaydee - glad to hear everything is going well - hope your u/s today is all good and they are playing nice - i may have asked this before but are you having identical?
MissMag - yay 12 weeks - congrats i'm sooo jelous - can't wait to be there!
Murph - hope you are doing ok. Have been thinking alot about you and how we would deal with the same - god it's hard.
Azzrenae - yay 12 weeks!!! have you had your 12week scan - are yours in the same amniotic sac?
Hello to everyone else - i have to be quick as i'm at work and have a meeting at 1000!
AFM - Well i have been feeling really nervous esp after our doctor appt yest - we are due for another scan this Fri as they think the twins are in the same amniotic sac - making them very high risk of cord entanglement and twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome - survival rate is only 60% apparently?. I stopped reading everything because it was sending me crazy but i started again and argggggggh!!! The doctor yest said i would have to go under a specialist team at the Royal Womens if they are (i was hoping to have them at my work) i'm just starting to freak out a little - i can't wait til Fri. Have been feeling pretty good otherwise - which also scares me why arn't i sicker!! I know i'm rambling and acting crazy i just can't help it! Thanks for listening!
Anyway have a great day everyone - i will pop back later.
xxBella

Bella - identical twins are born all the time hun - i think it sounds like you've been reading up too much!! step away from google!!!! being in the same amniotic sac isn't necessarily a bad thing - it just means you'll need to be monitored a little more closely - happens to lots of us for whatever reason! i had no intention of Ob care but due to the risk of diabetes (which i don't have) and pre-eclampsia (which seems to be developing now at the very end of the pg) i had no choice.... i guess it just happens sometimes that our ideal isn't our reality.... i'd give my ideal the flick in a heartbeat for the safety of my girl though...

Hi ladies Bella - I know exactly how you feel - I'm sort of passed it now - but there were a couple of weeks there where I doubted I was pregnant. I haven't put on a gram of weight, I stopped feeling sick, I was feeling more energetic, didn't have a bump, and couldn't feel anything! I know I should have been grateful, but all i could think was 'OMG, are they still there??'. I think my ob thought I was totally insane when I went in and said 'All I want to know is if they're still there'. He laughed his head off. It may also have been because I told him that I'd thought about it very seriously and wanted to avoid both a c-section and a vaginal delivery....... apparently they haven't figured that out yet
And BG - I agree. Words of wisdom! Twomums - how are you going? Is everything ok? Sounds like you two had a nasty fright. Thinking of you.
Miss M - your mum sounds like mine. She is so emotional about this pregnancy, which is really lovely. But sometimes I have to laugh at her. And congrats on reaching 12 weeks. Such a milestone. Make sure you celebrate. Kaydee - hi, how are your little bubble & squeak? have you found out their sex? I can't wait - our scan is on 27 May, so I'll know what flavour they are then. So exciting.
BG and Nicole - I can't believe how close you are!! How are you both feeling about it? Thinking of you lots - I suppose really it could be any day now couldn't it! Of course, I hope you hold those precious little bundles in for as long as you can, but it's definitely getting to that time
Hi Azzrenae, hi everyone else - hope you're all going well.
Good news from me is that I am sure now that I have no bad outcome from the fall last week. I am feeling perfectly fine and even feeling some movements! The beans are clearly having a little party in there. Suffering with indigestion, but I don't mind so much, and just looking forward to the next scan!

Hi all,
Bella, not identical twins. 2 eggs and both took. GL for Friday's scan.
Jen, we didn't find out their sex. Don't want to know, we'll wait and see!
BG, hope your ob appt today goes well.
AFM, scan today showed 2 very active little bubs. Every time the sonographer tried to get some pics, all he kept getting were more arms and legs! Weights have been estimated at 890gms and 920gms so both fairly close and spot on in size for single babies at this gestation.
Hope you're all having a great day!

Hi ladies,
Bella I so know what you are talking about at the moment they think that they are shearing the same amniotic sac but I am having a scan on Friday to double check that. It could be to early to see if you had a scan at 7 weeks. My OB is experienced with twin births she said that she will have to monitor me more closely as in having more scans then normal the up side is we can see our babies my often. I tollaly trust her so I know I am in good hands. I agree with BG try and take each day as it comes and stop going to google its good to know about what could go wronge but just so we are aware of it. I have my fingers crossed for you and hope they see a little faint line there. it counds like we are having scans on the same day.
BG you are so close I had my daughter at 38 weeks but I was so ready it that time. Sometimes you get so use to the pregnant feeling you forget that a baby is going to pop out until you get that gush feeling and think oooh thats right baby is coming.
Twomums Sounds like bub is doing fine if bubs hands and leg are moving then he/she is none the wiser just floating around and enjoying the enviroment.
Jen77 thats great to hear you are feeling better so no more tumbling down hills OK Im sure the bubs will do enough tumbling for the 3 of you's
Kaydee I wish I could see your tummy it must be getting harder to move around now.
MissMagpie How exciting you will see your little bub tomorrow yah can't wait to hear about it
AFM feeling great I haven't had a headache for a while so thats a plus, I do get a bit sickie if I don't have food in my tummy so need to snack all the time. I agree with you ladies I wonder if they are still in there can't wait to see them on Friday.
hope everyone is relaxing and taking care of yourselves
I must go sounds like my little princess is ready to get up from her avo nap xxx

Thankyou everyone for all your words of wisdom!
Azzrenae - wow both having the scan on the same day to check for the membrane!! I can't wait GL for yours can't wait to hear how you get on - are you showing yet? I feel like i am - probably just bloated but hey i'm flaunting it like it's baby
I feel alot better now and i haven't googled today at all
BBL to check up on you all - packing up and giving myself an early mark!

Good afternoon girls,
Twomums - What a terrible scare for you both im glad all looked ok on the scan and bubs was moving around. After all we've been through, everyday we are anxious and hoping nothing goes wrong. I hope you can both relax for the rest of the pregnancy. Please take care.
Bella - I agree with the others. the more you read, the more it does your head in! Hope all goes well on Friday.
Kaydee - glad all went well with your scan today and bubble & squeak are a good weight.
Azzrenae - good to see your headaches have subsided for you. I too feel funny if I dont eat regularly. Not long now till Friday!!!!
Jen - yeah my mum is very emotional, just like me!!!! We didnt celebrate our milestone although we bought our first baby purchase on the weekend. Glad all is well with your beans and that your feeling movement, VERY EXCITING!!!
A BIG hello to everyone else
AFM, went to see my new OB at lunchtime, Dr.Vich He was VERY lovely. I spent 45 mins in there with him. He was very thorough and I felt very happy afterwards. My age and weight got mentioned a few times He is sending me off for a diabetes test in 3 weeks time. Other than that, all else looked good. He put a portable device on my belly to see if we could hear the heartbeat but couldnt. He said usually by 16 weeks we can hear it on his machine. He said the ultrasound place tomorrow has better equipment so I should be able to ask them to hear it Im anxious about tomorrow. Again my age is a big factor as he mentioned but I already knew that. Will be good to see little one moving around
Have a good evening all.
Take care,
Tania

Hi Girls
Thank you all for your best wishes. We went for another scan today and the baby grew in two days!! There is no active bleeding and no old blood to be expelled anymore, Kim has had no more bleeding or spotting or even brown come out since Sunday Morning. So everything is AOK!! i feel a bit better now knowing there is no more blood to come out so I am praying that this was the last scare we have!! We have graduated from our Dr now, he did kims blood pressure 115/75 and her pee test was clean as a whistle!! So We are very very relieved and happy at this moment in time!!!!! Again thank you all for your reassurances. BBL for personals, have to make dinner! xxx Mwah to you all!!

hi all
just a quick one from me - feeling tired and a bit flat - just back from Ob and having dinner with bro and SIL for the first time in weeks - was just take away, but it was nice to have the company and for DH to catch up with my bro - they're great mates but with DH being away so much lately, and bro working or being sick when DH has been home...
anyway - Ob appt. BP still up a bit. not dangerous, but enough to have the Ob worried a bit. so i'm doing yet another 24 hour pee test. it's not fun! i hate doing pee samples for appts, let alone having to catch every drop and bottle it all day... more BT's tomorrow. monitoring on friday was able to be cancelled as he can see from scan today that bub is happy and healthy - so will only change if results from test come back odd at all....
baby measuring ahead still (fundal height 39cm - should be about 37 at this stage), fluid levels good, still head down, still has great heart beat, cord blood all ok. seems he has ditched the idea of shared care as i'm back to see him next week again (if his nurse rings back in the morning - couldn't make an appointment today).
anyway - must away - think DH is about to bring me some banana cake for dessert - gotta love him!

Hi lovely ladies,
I have caught up with you all, but I can't mention you all by name. Just know that I am thinking of you and I appreciate all your thoughts too.
i have been a bit distracted from study and need to get my head down so I don't have much time for personals right now. I wish I could.
TwoMums, my heart broke for you and Kim but I am so relieved that you have overcome that major scare.xox
To everyone else with your precious milestones, lotsa belly rubs to you and I hope you are enjoying every achievement. Yay..booties Miss Magpie. JenC, your mother's day gift was gorgeous.
BG and Nicole...all the best girls. soooo close!
Me...well, I certainly haven't been thinking of pram shopping lately . I have decided the only way to deal with the possibilities of "what if" over the nuchal scan (Downs syndrome results) and know what we will do, is have the full picture in front of us. I had my appointment at the hosp yesterday and they have booked me for an amniocentesis on May 25th when I will be 16 weeks as that's the earliest they do the procedure up here. they give preliminary results in 48hours which rarely differ from the final results, but final results take 2 long agonising weeks. anyway, for us it is better to be armed with information so that's the way we have decided to go. thanks again for all your help, I figured you'd want to know what was going on.
