Hi Sal79,
IUI can and does work for some people. I have pcos and my
DH has some sperm issues. We concieved our
DD on our 1st attempt almost 4 and a half years ago after 20 mths TTC. We have also managed to concieve baby #2 on our first go at IUI after 12mths TTC. I am now almost 6 wks
pg. I was told that there is approx 10 - 15% chance of getting
pg for each attempt. I believe we have been very lucky and blessed in concieving on the first attempt both times. Although the question has crossed my mind as to whether we really needed this treatment, but then if we didn't why didn't we concieve in the months beforehand?
IUI is a more simple, less invasive, and less expensive option ompared to IVF. And I believe it's certainly worth giving a go.
All the best. I hope your journey to parenthood is shorter than you expect.
