just a question to anyone who might know, i had a high level of ketones in my urine i know it often means nothing, like because i hadnt eaten for a few hours, but has anyone else had this? im worried i have GD, as i still vomit, and very fatigued and urinate sooooo much more than i think is normal, so will be finiding out in the upcoming weeks also my boy is very big for his gestational age which is also an indictor.

Hi all,
Just a quick note as I'm at work. Hope everyone is well!
Me=him=bub I am unsure about GD but I did read somewhere that eating small regular healthy meals helps reduce high keytone levels.
Just a quick update for me: I have been worried about various twinges and pains but mostly about a sharp occasional pain in my left side. I also went from having humongous sore breasts to somewhat reduced breast symptoms. I did a lot of reading about this and was convinced I was having an ectopic pregnancy. However I had another blood test today, and my levels have gone from approx 300 at 4 weeks to 3000 at 5 weeks. So I have been reassured that there is no issue and no need for me to have an early ultrasound. So....any tips on how not to be obsessive an anxious after a much longed for finally achieved BFP?
Will come back for personals after hours!

Good afternoon girls,
For those of you in Melbourne, hope your staying warm! I got spoilt on the weekend on the Gold Coast wearing just a t-shirt only to come back to this cold weather.....brrrrr!
Murph - I am so happy for you Thats such wonderful news. Its been a very stressful time for you and you are a brave woman. Hopefully now you can sit back, relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Congrats on having a girl too!
Bella - glad all went well with your scan. It is amazing to see how much the baby has grown and to see it actually LOOKING like a baby!
Neptune - what a HOOT about yoga! That is something Id be likely to do, lol Dont know about the whole "branch" part!!!!
JenC - sorry to hear your in so much pain. It is easy for the OB to say stop working isnt it?!?!?! Money doesnt grow on trees and not many of us can afford to live long term on one wage. We dont even have a mortgage as yet and wonder how we are going to cope. Take care.
Kelly - Im still envious! Hope your enjoying your time at home
BG - hope all is well and nice to hear from you to MHB, Kaydee, Misty, Grub and everyone else.
AFM, went to my OB yesterday for my monthly check-up. Heard the babies heartbeat and it made a THUD as it moved, was very exciting as I cant feel it move as yet! My diabetes test was negative which is a relief. Will go for another one later on in my pg. He got a letter from my gyno and his recommendation is for me to have an elective c/s because of the extensive surgery I had last year so my OB has "tentatively" booked me into his diary for 4 November!!!! As it gets closer, he may push it to the following week depending on how Im going. I thought Id have to have a c/s which wont bother me as Ive already been cut open twice now so whats an extra scar!!!! At least the c/s will be a smaller cut. Otherwise, am moving house on Saturday, have lots of packing to do between now and then. Not looking forward to it!
Take care all,
Tania

HI GIRLS AND BUBS!
Miss Magpie - how exciting to have a real date! Nov 4 - that's about the time i'll only be finishing work (34wks) so i know it's only 5 months away! lol. how quick is it going??? and don't worry about your scar collection, i have one too from the removal of a rather large dermoid tumor, cycts and of course appendix. it's like a little map of your life lol. good luck with the moving... let dh do all the heavy lifting!
oh Misty - asking what you can do not to worry and stress being pregnant is like asking what you can do to not read into every twinge during the tww... it's just impossible! I have found it quiet difficult until very recently to accept this is actually happening and get excited without feeling i'm getting ahead of myself iykwim.
My IVFclinic nurse told me to just enjoy the moment and try not to worry too much about the future. i did and still do find that helpful. to just appreciate and enjoy this lovely time because you can't stop what may or may not happen.
Also, this could (i hope not tho) be my only pregnancy and i really want to saviour it and enjoy it. so while it's hard not to worry (that's part of the parcel), i do try to control it and no let myself get carried away with fear. not sure if that helps. oh and the twinges are good... that's what meant to happen. stabbing/sharp pains, feeling like your uterus just spasmed etc is all just bub making room for itself!
MHB can't help you with anything about GD sorry but hope you feel better soon.
hey Bella - big congrats on a wonderful scan result. i definitely feel A LOT more relaxed about the whole thing after our scan... do you??? have you bought anything yet?
hey Kelly D - we aredoing the photo thing as well cos i scrapbook and plan on doing it. but not every week. probably once a month. i'm worried about haivng a big baby as well as my whole male side of the family, except my dad, are very tall as is DH and i'm pretty tall as well. argh! but i guess our bodies create what we can handle. murph, possums, bg, janie, ellas mum, mels, kaydee and anyone else i've overlooked. hope you are all well, warm and healthy.
I'm well. as you can tell feelign pretty good about things atm. going to start setting up the nursery on teh weekend.... super super excited. fatigue is subsiding and generally feeling better! yayayay. feel really happy and optimistic about things for the first time all pregnancy. suppose just relieved from last week's scan and it's FINALLY sunk it... I'm having a baby!!!!!!
sorry about the long post. and no murph, no more fart yarns ... yet. but i'll work on it just for you ROFL. oxox

Hi to all you lovely preggie ladies in here!
I was just hoping I could join you all, I finally conceived naturally after 13 long years TTC.
It's been lovely reading about all of your experiences, I've finally been able to have a good laugh... lately everything has been making me teary! Saw the Woolworths add today for about the 100th time where the mother is appling for a job and low and behild, I'm a blubbering mess! Surely this couldn't be normal???
Everything seems to be going smoothly, Had crippling bad cramps to start with but it turned out to be constipation from the elevit tablets, so thats been easy fixt now! Sorry, TMI Also have bad MS all day and tender boobies. But hey I'm not going to complain, After such a long wait, I'm just going to try and enjoy it all... After all, it hasn't all been bad, how about those cravings??? And it's SOOO acceptable! Fed my DH hot apple pie and custard the other night for dinner cause that was what I felt like and now today he send me a really nice text telling me all the lovie dovie stuff and it made me think of mud cake! So, If off now to bake a mud cake with a very thick layer of ganache icing!! YUM! (oh and I have had healthy cravings too! cabonnara for dinner tonight!)
Really looking forward to hearing more about everyones experiences!

wow, 13 years... how wonderful to see you here daytona! enjoy that cake.
oh the joys of constipation. i'm just sitting here enjoying a glass of prune juice myself... and i hear you about the cravings... i'm nuts for pasta too so i'll just be over for dinner me thinks! my dh doesn't eat pasta boo hoo.
the food cravings are quiet disturbing... sausage rolls, mini pizza and hot chips... all naughty naughties!!! but i think i'm just parlaying my love of those foods into "cravings'' so resistance is the key for me... i'm armed with fruit, tuna, cheese and crackers for when the hunger hits.
anyone else been hungering for certain foods?

Daytona: Welcome to our group. What a fantastic result after 13 years to have a natural miracle on the way.
Smithy: Good to see you back Girlfriend. How fantastic for you to get a BFP on your first FET. Did you have 1 or 2 of your frosties transferred??
Now cravings, while I was suffering from MS all I wanted to eat were Carbs. Potato Cakes (or potato scallops for the non Vic girls) were a god send. But now I have had no specific cravings, just eating what I would normally eat although some of the foods I ate prepregnancy do make my stomach turn just at the thought.
My theory is that if you are craving something, just have it but not to extreme as you will only crave it more and then pig out. Considering I was eating heaps of Carbs during the first 12 weeks, I lost 2 1/2 kilo's in weight and even now at almost 21 weeks I am still 1/2 kilo off my starting weight. So bubs is making sure she is taking everything she needs and I haven't been left with the weight (yet)...

Oh God, I've put on 6kgs, and that's from hardly eating anything extra - it's all baby though. And now after reading, I really really HAVE to have potato cakes. Yummmmm
SMITHY - Welcome, welcome, welcome and CONGRATS!!!!! So pleased for you.
Daytona - welcome, all the best for a H & H 9 months. 13 years, wow. You enjoy every minute.
Only got a minute, so hi to everyone else. Keep the fart/wind jokes coming girls, they are great!

Hi girls, you have all been very busy in here today!
A huge welcome to Daytona and Smithy! Congratulations and very best wishes for a wonderful pregnancy. Daytona, 13 years is a long time TTC... you must be such a patient woman! Smithy, we've crossed paths before and you are always so positive... Awesome news for you, hun!!
Miss Magpie, 4th November and counting. That's really exciting.
Grub, it becomes so much more real when you can walk into a set up room just waiting for a little one to arrive to complete it. Enjoy getting set up!
Bella, hope your tiredness subsides for a while now as you move into 2nd tri. I found I was absolutely exhausted up until 12 weeks and got back loads of energy once I was into my 2nd tri. Now I'm onto the home stretch, it's not exhaustion just being out of breath to do the most simple things like making the bed that slows me down.
Misty, hard not to be anxious when you've been LTTTC. The first few weeks are hard because there's no obvious symptoms of PG. Try to stay positive and focus on little milestones along the way. I still celebrate every Friday because that's another week down and a step closer to meeting our little ones. Are you having an early scan? It may help to alleviate your anxieties and give you something to count down towards along the way to the magic 12 week mark.
Hi Kelly, Neptune, BG, Janie, Possums, MHB and Mels. Hope you're all doing well!
AFM, ob appt yesterday still shows everything to be on track. Growth scan in 2 weeks to make sure babies are still playing nice and sharing nutrients. Finding sleeping to be a bit of a problem. Rolling over I have to do a 6 point turn and end up waking poor DH in the meantime.. I think it's preparation for when these little ones arrive. Enjoying time off at home and spending a lot of it getting ready. Finished sewing some wraps and doing more washing today. Aim for tomorrow is to get hospital and baby bags packed and ready.. not that we'll need them yet!
Take care all. Goodnight

Hello everyone,
I've read everyone's new posts but I won't go over what everyone has said, cos they beat me to it and I am studying (psych exam tomorrow....arrrghhh).
Daytona and Smithy, huge congrats and welcome. I will add your EDDs to the list by day's end!
Miss Magpie, no way! You were behind me, now you're jumping before. Well I think I may have to have elective c/s too so might just beat you yet! I'm actually getting to a point where I can think of the birth part. I never really read or look ahead, just keep up with where I am so I don't get stressed. OMG reading BGs birth story, she is one hell of a fighter. Give me the drugs and wake me up when it's over. I have no warrior in me. Just want a safe and happy life after the birth and would happily give someone else the job of labouring for me! Have I failed the sisterhood or what??
Grub, I'm so jealous of you setting up a nursery. I'm on really shaky ground cos we don't know if we will be living up here still or moving or even what hospy Jasmine will be born at (maybe she'll be born on the daintree ferry stuck in the mud). exciting times ahead! I love a happy Grubby, it's really catchy and makes my day when you are so positive! Enjoy that amazing feeling. I'm feeling it too in the biggest possible way. Life has changed so much and DH is just absolutely blown away with how real it all is.
Cravings, yep I had em all. what is it with chips, potato and gravy, potato cakes...they are the universal craving and so damn hard to resist? One of the girls suggested boiled eggs and vegemite soldiers. I live for them and it gets me through lots of meal times now without the crazy sickness of hunger and gotta have it...NOW! It sets up my day and I can even make it til lunch now which is quite amazing.
Misty - As for not worrying...too much reading and too much information can be a bad thing. I remember one girl was told rather soundly..."Stop googling". You will always find something to support your case of negativity if you look hard enough and you can do a lot of damage with stress, trust me.
Better go...although this has been as always a lovely distraction.
Belly rubs to all.xoxox

P.S. Murph - 4 Nov is only a "tentative" date at this stage. I'll only be 37.5 wks so my OB may change it to the following week depending on how Im going so you may beat me in the end!!! It will be a busy month in here in November

| | to all of you preggie ladies
Im so sorry I have been MIA but alot has been happening but will fill you in at the end of my post.
Yah smithy its great to see you are finally here Daytona that is fantastic news.
Murph that is great news we all deal with situations differently if you need time to put your head in the sand then do it and YAH a beautiful GIRL Now you can sit back and enjoy a beautiful ride of your life. You and your DH must be over the moon
Kaydee you sound so organised and making your own wraps whaoo thats great to hear your little ones are on track I also hope they are playing nice and shearing there nutrients. I am finding it hard to roll over also I am only 16 weeks & 5 days i can imagine when im 20 or 30 weeks OMG.
Missmagpie OMG 4 Nov thats great its good that you are moving now instead of later on so you can relax in your new house and set up your nursery how exciting. Great to hear you little bub is doing well.
Now as for cravings hot salty chips and cheese and bacon pies was my first trimester and now its back to normal but have gone off pies and cups of tea now love milo.
OK heres my story I hope I don't bore you. I had a problem with my 12 wk scan the twins were 7 days apart and 1 twin is to big it had a bigger nucal (not sure if thats how you spell it) and the other was normal so they gave me a 1:25 increase of Downs my OB said she doesn't know why its so high because they are Identical and they should be the some so they wanted me to have an amniocentesis they also suspect it could be twin to twin transfution syndrome which is when 1 gets to much nutrients and fluid then the other which is why 1 is bigger then the other and has a biger nucal then the other which can lead to heart problem and other things. My DH and I decided to have the amnio which was yesterday and like murphy said it was painless the only thing was me freaking out, but other then that it was ok im resting up today and we will be geting our results in 48hrs hopefully. I have had 4 scans already and alot more coming up every 2 weeks I need to have these scans just to monitor their fluid and growth. Its amazing to see 2 little babies bobbing up and down I can now feel them moving around and kicking. I will keep you all posted.
Hi Bella, Jenc, Mel, Neptune, BG hope your everything is going OK, Grub, Kelly , MHB and anyone I have missed

Hi Ladies
Could you please add me to the list as well? EDD 28 Jan 2010.
I don't know how I am going to get through this experience with my sanity intact! I have been feeling a bit nauseous and I definitely get full much quicker. And I have this very weird thing - I cannot get any of my hair in my mouth, not even one strand, it makes me want to run to the loo and puke!
The second I feel fine, I worry that something is wrong. Having lost one before I am starting to get more and more nervous about it happening again. My symptoms have been stronger this time around, but I still wonder.
My other symptoms are breaking excessive wind!! I mean really!! The second I eat! And the sore boobs. Oh and I guess I am a bit more sensitive to smells now. I wish I had a crystal ball to tell me everything will be ok in the end!
I love reading your stories, sorry I am a lurker most of the time but I am just too tired at night to post something myself.
Spookie

Hi and welcome Spookie, Come and join us in belly buddies, We're due about the same time.
Sound like most of us are having the wind problems, I'm just so relieved i havn't had the issue immerge out in public... Yet!
Wow kaydee, making your own wraps, I wish I could, last time my mum tried to teach me to sew, I sewed my fingernails together stuck onto what ever it was I tried to sew.
I havn't got a co-ordinated bone in my body! I actually think I've gotten worse since being pregnant! Even making mistakes when I drive and little things.. I was in a rush cleaning up the kitchen bench, picked up a bunch of my DH's mail and threw it in the toaster... Down the button went in 1 swift move! Wasn't long B4 the smoke alarm went off! and just as I ran out, up popped the "TOAST". It's like my brain has made a nest in my as# and decided to stay there!
