Good afternoon girls
MHB - LOL! Im just entering my 20's! Congrats on 30 wks It is all downhill from here. The countdown begins
Grub - have heard the preggy yoga is good, glad you enjoyed it! Im having my 20 wk scan on Wednesday, REALLY looking forward to it You wont be far off either.
Saph - hope all went well with your appointments this morning. Thinking of you.
Jodes - hello and Welcome Heres to a H & H 8 months! This is a GREAT thread with lots of lovely girls so feel free to ask whatever questions you need.
Murph - Congrats on getting a pram I was going to buy a new one then my DP's sister has one so Im buying that off her which has a toddler seat attachment which Im HOPING I'll need down the track I was looking at the strider, it looks VERY good!
Greenslw - hope your scan went well today. Its very exciting to see the baby as its all surreal until you feel it move.
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, won 2 cots on ebay on the weekend, lol I bidded for one thinking Id get outbidded but no-one else put a bid in so got it for $40 (BARGAIN!) and it came with sheets! The second one looked better so bidded on that too and won it, lol Im going to sand and stain them both and then sell one of them. My DP's sister has some second-hand big items for us that she is selling us for a good price so hopefully we are nearly all set I just have to buy a monitor. Am going to buy the angelcare sound and movement one with the sensor pads (for peace of mind!) Have read alot of good things about it. My 20 wk scan is on Wednesday, cant WAIT! Im yet to feel the baby move as yet. Feeling some thing sometimes but not quite sure if its the baby or just pulling of everything inside so am VERY keen to see it moving on the scan.
Take care,
Tania

Hi everyone,
I have been lying low for while, after my first 5 week scan, I thought I would have to wait until an 8 week scan with all the Drs away at this Amsterdam conference. I couldn't wait and caved and saw a GP for a referral to get a scan done.
Today we had our scan and all looks good and two little heartbeats, TWINS! OMG, I cried, the sacs look the same size, one twin is measuring a little bit smaller ie .63cm v .69cm in length and heart beats are 111 and 120 bpm, I haven't Googled to see if this is ok for 6w5d and probably won't as don't want to stress but just happy that they are still there and ok. I am feeling much better and a bit more relaxed, I see my FS in a week and a half, so looking forward to that already, gosh so many milestones. I am still pinching myself that this could really be happening to me. I am just starting to get some mild nausea for most of the day, but no urge to chuck yet, fingers crossed. In fact I have everything crossed, and I am trying to resist the urge to tell the world.
A special mention to Smithy, thanks my love for thinking of me and checking in on me, hoping you are coping ok with your morning sickness.
Tania, thanks for your lovely welcome, it is so nice to be in here. What a bargain you got with your 2 cots lol, I have had that happen to me too on ebay, it is easy to go overboard in the excitement of bidding. I love ebay, it is amazing the great near new baby stuff they have. I have already scooped out everything I need so I can start comparing.
MHB, congrats on 30 weeks, for me it seems like it has come around so quickly. I can't wait for a baby bump either.
Saph, thinking of you, and praying for you for with your coming scan on Wed, wishing you all the best, your bub is obviously a survivor and there is so many similar stories where all is well.
Grub, I love the idea of pregnancy yoga, can you start at any stage?
Murph, you crack me up too, I am sure you will be popping out before you know it and there will be no mistaking the bump. I don't know if I am lucky or not, but my boobs have already grown a bra size, and feel incredibly firm, like I am a twenty year old with a new boob job. DH is mesmerized and could spend hours drooling and squeezing lol. I am hoping they don't get to much bigger.
Greenslw, hope all goes well with you scan today, I hope you are taking it easy and not working too hard.
Jen, I will be stalking you and reading all your previous posts to understand what happens with twins, so sorry in advance if I ask you endless questions
Neptune, I love the idea of getting a spray tan with a belly, a nice brown belly would look beautiful. I haven't heard anything negative, let us know how you go.
Ella'sMum, nice to see you (virtually) again too, I am taking your advice and trying to enjoy it all and limit my stressing. GL with your 12 weeks scan
Jodes, woohoo, and congratulations to you too. If you are like me, this all seems unreal, but so exciting. Wishing you all the best.
KellyD, I am so glad I am here too. Thanks for the welcome.
Kahlan, any day now, I hope all is well with you and looking forward to your birth announcement.
Kaydee, ditto for my comments to Jen, just curious how many weeks did they set to induce you?
LNB, any news, I hope all is well and you have a beautiful new arrival in your arms.
Hi to Nixon and Nicole S, I hope mummy life is treating you both well, Nic, your post made me cry it was so beautiful.
Bella, congrats on your twin boys, my DH would be in heaven, he really wants boys to pass on the family name. I hope you are well.
Azzrenae, gosh, so many twins on the way. Yes we transferred 2 embies, I can't believe they both took. I will be sure to ask you plenty, thanks for offering.
Mels, thanks so much for your support, I am so excited to be here, hope you are well too.
Farmgirl, not long to go now, we will be finding out gender too, is the earliest at the 20 week scan? Hope you are well.
Janie, thanks for your well wishes, and so glad to hear all is well with you and Jasmine and life is settling into a routine.
Hi to Possums and Sara, thanks for thinking of me and dropping in.
Phew, I hope that is everyone, so sorry if I have missed you, there is some many in here. Thanks so much for all of your well wishes, big hugs to all. xx

BDT - I am so excited for you. I have been waiting for news from you. It seems funny to feel so close to people who you have cycled with for so long but never every met.
AFM - HCG wait for it 10600 yeah That was my last blood test scan on wed and we will know our fate. Scared and excited. Must be feeling positive DH home from work becausae of the crappy weather so we went and looked at prams. $675 for the pram and then another $200 for the toddler seat. Put Campbell in it to see if it was okay and he screamed the whole way home because he wanted his pram. He doesn't like the one hes got let alone one with a baby that will take up all my time. LOL
Thanks everyone for all the positive vibes I know I say this all the time but it has been a real help. I am just worried about everything this time. Last time by the time i new I was preggas I was throwing up all day long and would curse those poeple who would say just be thankful your hormones must be really high. Bring on the vomiting. By the way Smithy how are you going? Hope you have found something to help. Off to do more reserch on this pram.

Hi Saph, great news on HCG numbers. GL for your scan on Wednesday. I found I worried lots more in this pregnancy too. Our DD was clomid and while we knew at 5 weeks we were pg, I was much more relaxed about those 1st 12 weeks with her than I was this time round. You'll find once you get past your 1st trimester, time will go much quicker and you'll be able to relax a little more.
BDT, what a post! Congratulations on your twins HB! So exciting... I'll be induced at 38 weeks if we don't go earlier. 38 weeks is considered full term for twins and the ob says I'll be well and truly over it all by then anyway! Has your hunger kicked in yet?? I couldn't get enough food in my first trimester! Starving every 2 hours Gotta love going up bra sizes.. I'm loving it!!
Miss M, I highly recommend the angelcare sound and movement monitor. It was a worthwhile investment for when DD was born and we've just bought another (off ebay, brand new in packet) so the twins will have one each in bassinetts and then cots.
Welcome Jodes. Best wishes for a H & H PG.
Hi to everyone else in here at the moment. It is a busy little hive!!
AFM, counting down towards 34 weeks. Have had a heavy cold all weekend which has knocked me for 6. DH scored lots of brownie points by taking care of everything from housework, to cooking dinner and taking care of DD.

Thank you all for you well wishes for yesterday. Well it was amazing, no take home pics but DP saw our little baby. We were both a little stunned. My goodness it was bouncing all over the place. Can't wait till I can feel it.
So exactuly the right measurment for how many weeks I am
My OB booked me in for a downs can, not sure what I want to do. She said "if you wouldn't teminate don't have the scan" "if you wont do the amnio don't do the scan". This made me think and I still am. Any thoughts?
She also said it would be fine to tell the world now, so hurry up boss and get back, (still want to tell her first).
So if I go for the scan it's next Wednesday, and then another OB app in 6 weeks,
Only one grrr moment cos of my PCOS I shouldn't eat carbs, but that all I feel like she also said due to my PCOS I probably wont go to term, which is fine I'd much prefer a Capricorn (she's thinking a week or so early) but I do need to watch out for gestational diabeties too. So much to worry about. I did make a bit of a "are you kidding" face at the carb thing so she said once I'm over my MS start. Good to see my OB is a realist.
Hope everyone has a great day, off to a meeting "yawn" personals later. |

Good Morning everyone
So sorry if I don't do all the personals, I am just finding it hard to keep up with all the preggies in here.
Greenslw: Congrats on a fantastic scan. In regards to the Downs Scan, we all stress about this one although I think Murph is the best one to talk to you about the stresses after her experience with the Downs results and her little Jazzy. And the Carb thing due to PCOS... Never heard of that before, I have severe PCOS and have had nothing said to me about avoiding carbs (which is impossible during 1st trimester and MS as it is the only thing that seems to help). Up until 20 weeks I had actually lost 2.5kg from my pre-pregnancy weight and as at now I have put that back on and and additonal 3.5kg (6kg in total) but that is completely normal weight gain during the 2nd trimester. I think I would go mad if I couldn't have my carbs...
Grub: Sorry can't help with the not being able to go to sleep a night. My thing is getting up at 4am for my regular loo trip and then going back to bed and not being able to go back to sleep for almost 2 hours, then getting woken up again when DH's alarm goes off at 7am. I'm using this as practice for when I have to do night feedings.
Saph: Good news about your numbers. My FS didn't do any follow up BT's after we got our BFP, just the 7 week scan to confirm all was o.k. As some of the other girls have said I think after a certain time the numbers take longer to kick in. Good luck with your scan tomorrow.
Smithy: Gotta love the unpredicability of MS, just when you think it is easing off it comes back with a vengenance. As for you thinking you are having a blue bundle, the way things are going in here at the moment, Blue is the prominent colour so you never know. Although at 8 weeks I was sure I was having a boy and then at my 18 week scan a very lady like view of bubba with legs wide apart and no little extra's. So spent 10 weeks convinced it was blue and have now spent the last 6 weeks going pink crazy (baby girl clothes as so adorable).
Kaydee: Hope you are feeling better now. On the last few weeks OMG, where has the time gone.
MissM: So funny about the ebay thing. Good to have a back up plan in place but hey... 2 cots from none at all. Luckily you are getting some other big items from you SIL, makes it so much cheaper and then you can use that extra cash to splurge on some new big ticket items yourself.
BDT: 2 heartbeat so early on, you have a couple of good little sticky ones in there. Just wait you are only a few weeks away from your MS kicking in.....
MHB: Congrats on your 30 week milestone. After so much drama during this preg for you now you are on to the home stretch.
To all our other girls, I hope that you are doing well.
AFM: Back from Perth with a bit of a head cold, luckily not too bad and have seemed to shaken most of it off now. Little miss has now turned very active and even DH has been able to feel her kicking, he said if feels like bubbles popping. I am starting to get a feel for her sleep patterns, especially at night and if they continue to when she arrives I'm hoping she will be a good sleeper. Generally in the evening she wakes up about 7.30pm and has a bit of a play around and then again about 10pm, then I don't get anything again until generally about 5am and then again about 8am. If she feels that sleeping from 10pm to 5am is a good thing, then I'm sure not going to complain. Did more shopping again yesterday, ahhh gotta love sales.... Bought a heap of size 0 clothes and some size 1's for next winter, so am now pretty much set for the next year with her clothes, will only need to buy singlets, socks etc as she grows during this time. So my request for clothes from anyone now are just sleeping bags in 00, 0 & 1 for the different seasons (because these never seem to be on special). My OB appt is next week and then I'll be on 2 weekly's after that, then time will really start to fly. I am going to get a referral next visit to have a 4D scan done as well, we decided early on to have it done and DH is really looking forward to it as he is a little disappointed that after the 20 week scan that no other's are done as a standard.
Wow, I didn't realise how long my post was... Better get moving or it will be afternoon before I know it.

Greens I too have PCOS and have been told to only eat carbs in the morning. Yeah right. Interesting about PCOS and going early I had DS at 38 weeks thank god because he was already 9 pounds 2 imagine how big he would have been if I had gone to term.
Is this a bad sign dreamt about the pram we looked at yesterday and i could see Campbell sitting in the toddler seat but no baby in the back. Spooky. I think it has more to do with that fact that I plan to get it soon and use it with Campbell as it is more compact than the one we have now. But then I dont want to get it dirty, I have decided I am completely nuts and as my husband has taught Campbell to say crazy man which actually cames out as crazy mummy everyone in the house thinks I need to check into the funny farm. Well trying to keep myself busy between now and tomorrow afternoon I even contemplated cleaning out the linen cupboard with a two year old really funny farm is looking good. Well should be off and do something useful with my time.

Well did two shelves of the linen cupboard and decided that I was over it. Think I might take campbell out for lunch Chinese sounds appealing mmmmmm yummmmm, its still more than an hour till lunch time all I want to do lately is eat.
Anyway having a baby brain moment looked in the progesterone bottle to see when I will run out. Shouldnt need to count 15 in a bottle started saturday so should be one left for saturday morning but no I will run out on friday night what has happened to the 15th one. I have no idea maybe I used two instead of one who knows but I yell you what this baby brain is worse for the second one than the first. As Campbell would say crazzzzy mummy!

MHB - congrats on reaching the 30s. Not long to go now.
Tania - good luck with your scan tomorrow. Be sure to let us know how it all goes.
BDT - yay! twinnies! there are quite a few of us in here with 2 on board. It's really good to have the support. I don't know what I'd do without it sometimes. Feel free to ask away. My OB has been telling me that on average in Aust twins come at 35 weeks, although obviously the longer you can hold them in the better. But he also said that I'd have my C-section at 37 wks at the latest.
Saph - how are you doing? You sound busy!
Kaydee - hope your cold clears up. how are you feeling otherwise? Are you still working? My OB says to finish at 28 weeks, but that's not really possible for us. I'm planning to work until 33 wks.
Grub - i am ALWAYS hungry. I think the boys are going through a growth spurt. They're certainly moving a lot. All the time. I don't seem to have trouble getting to sleep, but when I wake up in the middle of the night, I have real trouble getting back there. My brain just won't stop! it's driving me nuts actually.
Greenslw - glad you enjoyed your scan and saw your bub moving around
KellyD - the 3D scans are really good, and the 4D video is cool too. I know it's an extra, but I couldn't not have it. I've actually watched it a few times too. Brings a tear to my eye! Enjoy.
Mels - hope your puppy is on the mend. And good luck in these last weeks. Take it easy.
Neptune - how's your back? Have you been seeing a physio? Or having acupuncture? I find that both of these are really really helping my lower back / pelvis problems. I've seen a marked improvement over the last couple of weeks. I'm seeing the physio 3 x week, and she's also doing the acupuncture for me.
Kahlan and LNB - any news????
Hi to Murph, Smithy, Jodes, Ella'smum, Bella, Farmgirl, Azzrenae, Twomums, and the other lovelies who still pop in to say hi - Nixon, Nicole, Janie, BG, and Possums.
Hi to anyone else I've missed. It's so busy in here isn't it. I feel like I can't catch up.
AFM, well, everything is fine. I was a bit worried about a sudden weight gain, but I called my ob clinic and spoke to the midwife there who said it sounded all fine. I seem to have put on nearly 4 kgs in only a matter of days, and I have a spliting headache, trouble peeing (sorry - TMI!!), but no worrying swelling or anything. So maybe a UTI? Am seeing the Dr on Friday, so will sort it then.
Pelvis /back / hips are getting better slowly. I am back at work part-time now and will try to gradually build back up in the 6-7 working weeks I have left.
Spent the weekend really trying to get the babies' room in some sort of order so it's looking good now. We still have only about a zillion things to buy, but I think I'm going to wait until after my baby shower.
Anyhow, need to lie down now! Hope you're all well.
Jenx
