Hi everyone

Theresa - good luck for tomorrow and for your scan on Friday. It is so exciting to watch that little bean develop. I had weekly scans up till about 12 weeks and it is amazing now to remember that little bean with the buds for arms and legs and now to be able to feel those arms and legs as they bash into me

Ellie - you are getting sooo close now! How exciting! I will be the same as you when I get that close; will just want her out NOW!

Tildy - how did you go with the kidney check? I hope you are okay. And good work on the mat leave arrangements

Jude - good to hear that you are well. Hopefully your PC will be fixed before YOU have your boy!!

Rozzie - haven't heard from you in a while. Everything going okay?

I just had a phone call from the m/w who runs our antenatal class - last night she talked about stillbirth and she just rang to check that she didn't say anything too upsetting for us etc. She had given us the option of not being there but we decided to stay and it was okay, although I cried as she spoke as she did use us a reference. Made it a lot more real for everyone in the class too which is probably not a bad thing. Anyway, its all good. I am so emotional these days anyway - doesn't take much to reduce me to tears nowadays. Bawled my way through Oprah yesterday and it wasn't even a sad episode!

About my kidneys -- I have acute hydronephrosis, which means pressure from my uterus is preventing urine from draining from my kidney(s) to my bladder. With acute though the mean that it's not building up and building up and going to cause a problem. If I stand on my hands and knees or go for a walk it all drains and everything is fine, but unfortunately the pain comes as soon as I lie down and gets so severe that I can't sleep. But I got a prescription for a very spacey pain killer (that's not dangerous during pregnancy) that seriously takes alllll the pain away. Friday night I slept a whole night with just a few short potty wake-ups in the middle, it was so lovely and I was super chipper the next day.

Speaking of spacey, I had a dream last night that we were in an inter-galactic war and I was being asked to put on a space-suit and parachute right into the enemy as a last resort... hrmmm, wonder what that means!

Laney -- once again, great to hear you had a good scan.

Hi ladies,

Laney, it sounds like everything is just as it should be... there was discrepencies of up to 3 weeks between some of my measurements, it's completely normal, remember the measurements are based on averages only, and some bubs are short, some are long, some are fat etc. I will repeat myself, IT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL!!! I know it won't help you relax, but know we're all in the same boat.

Jude, so sorry to hear about the cord... of course there's mimimal risk but that's what we all fear the most, the same situation. So I won't tell you not to worry as I know you will (and I would too) but it really does sound like Daniel's just fine.

Tildy, glad to hear you got some sleep... I could do with some happy pills, I'm tired of waking up at 3 am and trying to get back to sleep.

Jo, I think that's good that your M/W was sensitive enough to consult you. I also think it's great they discussed stillbirth in the class. It's a reality that people ignore or aren't aware of and I wish that would change.

Ellie, what did your DH end up doing? I think if it were me I'd ask him not to go. I doubt family would understand but I don't really care. Alec's Dad and his partner were here the other week and we found out from them that Alec is apparently his brother's groomsman for his wedding in April (he didn't ask Alec, just assumed) and they want him to be the photographer during the reception AND the MC. I'm like, we'll have a newborn baby, I won't be able to drive after the C-Section still, so maybe it's a bit much? I also said Alec won't be going to the buck's party and they're like 'why not?' Because we'll have a newborn and I'll be recovering from major surgery!?!?! (his brother lives in Jindabyne, 1.5 hours away) family just don't think sometimes. I don't care though, it's all about ME ME ME!!!

3 more days of work AAARRRRGGGGHHH!!! and things have gotten really busy. I so wanted to cruise but I'll be busy right until I go. at least time will go fast.

Love Rozzie

Sorry for the quick reply...Rozzie...he went and I'm glad he did...but I did have a check up on Friday arvo and DH asked the Doc if he thought I'd be ok etc etc...Doc thought it would be ok bub only 4/5 engaged. Anyway...got an email from SIL today with pics from the funeral...(never known anyone taking pics at a funeral???) with the comment re how disappointed they were I wasn't there...trying not to read too much into that ...but...

There is no way you can do the wedding thing with a newborn...CRAZY people!!!!

Big hugs to everyone else...flying out the door...

Rozzie, I agree that Alec's family have some loopy expectations there. :P Fredrik's family have actually said that they surely don't expect anything from us from now until a month after the baby comes (and I'm not expecting a C-section!), but when there's already 8 grandkids in the family I guess they get what it's like!

Hi Ladies,
Did anyone hear from Cindee yet? I would love to know how Miranda is doing.

Ellie, it has to be able time for your bub to arrive. When is your c-section?

Rozzie, I know that the measurements are normal and that they can be off by quite a bit after 12 weeks. I just can't keep the bad thoughts and worry out of my head.

Jude, I know it won't help but my SIL just had a baby 2 months ago. The cord was around her neck twice. She was born nice and healthy by c-section.

Tildy, are your doctors going to keep an eye on your kidneys? I know that you are at an increased risk for bladder and kidney infections, that is the last thing you need.

Jo, I can't believe you are past 30 weeks already. I can't wait to be past that point, I think I will breath a little easier knowing that our little man could come early and he would have a great chance of coming home healthy.

Hi Ladies

Hope you are all keeping well.

Our appointment on Wednesday went well. Everything is looking good so we are very happy.
Our scan yesterday was great! Our little Lamb is 28mm long and had a heart rate of 170bpm. The sonographer said we had a little wriggler. Our bub was moving and stretching all the time. It was so cute. It has a tiny head and little arm and leg stubs. So cute!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Take care.

Theresa xx

Congrats on your little wriggler, Theresa!

Wonderful news Theresa! They look so cute wriggling around...isn't it the most amazing thing you've seen!

Yep Tildy...spine tingling...and a whole heap of butterflies in the tum everytime I think about it. Hopefully the anxiety will lessen after I see Ob and anaesatist (spelling?) on monday...so scared of the epi etc...

Good luck today Ellie with your ob appointment. How amazing to think that you will be holding your little one in your arms sometime this week. Keep us posted!

Great news on your scan Theresa

Laney - it is funny just how much more relaxed I now feel being past 30 weeks. I thought it would kick in at 28 weeks and it did a little bit, but now as each week passes, I just feel better and better. I am actually starting to enjoy my pg now - finally! Not long till you hit your goal too & it certainly helps having had such good scan results so far for you too

Rozzie - you are now on mat leave aren't you? WOO HOO! I went into work last week and finalised all my leave and it was so weird putting on my "out of office" saying I was on mat leave and would be back early 2010! What the?? I know once bubs arrives that time will fly by. How long are you having off work?

Saw my ob last week and all is good. Bubs is still head down which is a relief and my ob is now saying he will take the stitch out at 37 weeks. Only 6 weeks to go!! Am hoping he can get it out without the need for an epi but we won't know until the day.

Keep well everyone

Ellie - I can't wait to read your birth announcement! You will have your baby in your arms in no time. Very exciting! Let the countdown begin.

Laney - how is everything going? I am keeping you in my prayers and thoughts.

Jo - I can't believe your ticker! 31 weeks. Fantastic! How are you feeling?

Hi everyone - look at your tickers are flying by.

OMG Ellie that brings it clsoer to the other 3 of us close by. Tildy, Rozzie and me... was there anyone else due April? braind dead ATM. we could al go now at any time.

Theresa good news on the scan and you gotta love the wriggling

Laney so good to hear all is well for you.

Jo well into the 3rd trimester now

The cord is no longer around Daniels neck yay so that is great. he has gained from 5lb 4 12 days ago to 5lb 11 and still looking to be 3 wks ahead of schedule.
Lots of b/h ctx and back ache and feels like at times he is trying to punch his way out or force his hand thru lol. On each scan he always seems to have his hands up on his head, he better move them down before delivery!!!
hugs
Jude

Hi Ladies
I'm so emotional today! Have just read all your posts and so overwhelmed with joy for everyone...such a positive vibe is soooo wonderful!
My appointments went well yesterday...fund measured 40...blood pressure all good and for the first time ever bub slept through the scan... so we're set to roll! My MIL is being a cow and has no plans of coming to see bub and my parents are driving me mad...dad even wanted to swap cars with me today so he could wash it and detail it for the drive to the hospital...I thought you only did that for weddings lol!!! So I'm dealing with the two extremes and Pregzilla is about to rear her ugly head! So the answering machine is on and I'm in my bubble until my parents arrive to babysit the furkids while we're in the hossy. I'm sure time is standing still....sigh

Ellie,

great news, good luck! can't wait to hear your announcement. Your MIL does sound like a cow, though an absent cow is much better than an in your face one!!!

Ellie I feel all tingly with excitement for you! I love that your dad wants to detail the car - I say let him do it. Bubs deserves a shiny clean car for the trip home. Very cute. And I agree with Rozzie - best that your MIL stays well away. You don't need someone like that around at the most amazing and happiest of events. Her loss and she will live to regret it.

Jude - wow Daniel is going so well. I can't wait to hear your news. Do you think you will make it to April?

Anna is doing brilliantly. She is now 3 months old and is all giggles and smiles. She has just found her feet and thinks they are great. We are heading to a mum and bub movie this morning.

Hi ladies,

had my last scan and OB appt today. OB wants to book me in four weeks today, which is a week or so later than expected but oh well. I'll just have to be patient!

DH had a day off today, we did some shopping and stuff and ended up being out all day long, me feet are sooooo sore... but we finally got a rocker and ottoman that we ordered 6 weeks ago and it's lovely and comfy.

Anyway that's about it for me!
