Hey Judy... lol re cold milk..I am craving chocmilk and I am the size of a house!!!How is your back? Are the med's helping?
Rozzie - 2 more weeks of work...hope it flies by! Thanks for listening yesterday...feeling heaps better today
Well 36 weeks today...2 weeks to last Ob appointment....spent yesterday 'nesting'...had poor DH wash all our towels in softener because I couldn't stand them feeling like cardboard! Then I had him cleaning, cleaning, cleaning....at some point in the day I commented to him that I'd love to be able to come home from hospital to a clean house...the response..."I had already anticipated that and I have a plan in place!"...cracked me up...poor love...no wonder he's calling me pregzilla!!!!

Hi Ladies
Hope you are all keeping well.
angelicdragon - Hope you back is better and you are not in too much pain.
Ellie - How are you? Hope you are keeping well.
AFM - Had my scan today. It was such a relief to see our baby's heartbeat - 170bpm and 2cm long!!!! I was ecstatic as I had a nightmare last night that they told me there was no heartbeat so I was freaking out this morning!! Poor DF didn't know what to do with me!! He took me out to lunch afterwards to celebrate - he is such a sweetheart. Scan dates show we are at 8 weeks and 5 days so will need to update my ticker.
Keep well everyone xxxx

Theresa, great news!! I'm sure your little bubba was super cute.
Ellie, you're welcome we have a C-section info class tomorrow, and when DH booked there was only one other couple signed up, so it's quite probable I'll be whingeing about that one tomorrow night.
Jude, I hope you're feeling better.
I hope I can last the next 2 weeks at work, I don't want to use my annual leave. We had briefs all day and I found the chairs so uncomfy, my lower back still aches!!

Congrats on a healthy scan Theresa. That heartbeat is so reassuring .
Rozzie good luck with the class and make sure you get to across how you want things to go as son as bub is born. I have been told that you cna have bub placed on your chest as soon as delivereid then taken away a bit later for cleaning etc while you get stitiched up but you still get thsoe first few minutes of bub skin to skin, Dr permitting. I hate the way in most C sec they take bub away soon as they have shown you them over the curtain then next time they are so swaddled up it is a wonder you can even see a tiny face.
Ellie how ready are you now? Not long at all.
I have a gut feeling the next full moon in 4 wks will see Daniel arrive. 36 wks will be ok for me though.
hugs all
Jude

Congrats Cindee on the birth of Miranda Eva. Lovley name. It's good to hear she is doing well and I hope she won't be too long in hosital. A friend of mine had her little boy at 28 wks and he was in for a ttoal of 13 weeks which seems such a long time.
Deb how long was immy in for?
Ellie I am going to have to stop drinking so much full cream milk, had my OB appt yesterday... bear in mind my babies are ueusally only 6lbs at 38 wks!
Daniel already weighs about 5lb 4oz at 32w5d. I had a complete measurement done on him and his head is already 30.45cm (approx 33w5d), stomach measures 35w4d and femur is 32w4d so all up his approx age works out to be 35w5d according to fluid, fundal height and everything else.
Estimated weight at delivery is supposedly 8 1/4 lb!!! I've never had a baby that big!
He is now head down which also explains all the low pressure I have been getting.
He has the most gorgeous chubby cheeks and clearly defined lips and nose. Will get that pic off the memory stick tomorrow.
The only bad news...
he has the cord around his neck.
Jamie ( OB) is not at all worried neither is the midwife, she did try to reassure me saying she delivered a baby yesterday with the cord around it's neck.
Yes I do know many women now who have had their baby withe cord around the neck but it was my baby that died from it so why should I feel reassured?
I have to keep an eye on his movements etc and if at all worried to go straight in for a CTG and if any signs of a problem I'll have an emergency c sec instead of the VBAC my OB has planned.
I am just sooooooo very tired I feel i could sleep for a week yet I still wake up every hour or so.
Jude

Oh Judy the cord around the neck must have freaked you right out!!! I guess all you can do is follow your instincts and if an early c section is what has to happen so be it...anything to hold your little one in your arms. I am getting more anxious as we get closer...seeing Dr this arvo so hopefully that will reassure me...momentarily!!! Daniel sounds like a chunky little monkey lol! I'm still carving chocmilk... DH thinks our bub will come out and start kndy the next day it's so big!!!
Today's drama... DH is expected to drive nearly 5 hours to his Nanna's funeral tomorrow...he is so torn...scared that if he leaves me for the day something will happen and I'm worried about him being upset and driving the 5 hours home. I don't think he should go...he hadn't seen his Nanna for years...do you think I would be horrible for 'begging' him not to go?????

Jude -- it probably won't help if I mention that I was born with the cord around my neck (and at 42 full weeks to boot, so I was 8 lb 15 oz), because I see why it scares you so much. But they're keeping an eye on you. Make sure you call them if you feel anything is not right!
I also sympathize 110% with the inability to sleep. I'm on my way in to the maternity ward at 11 this morning to get my kidneys checked out, because I have a pain in my back/right side that becomes so unbearable when I lie down that I want to scream. I sleep 2-3 hours a night. So yesterday when I got home from work I tried to take a nap -- despite not having any pain right then, I laid in bed for 2 hours without sleeping a wink! I've never understood how it seems you're least able to sleep when you really need it the most.
I managed to rearrange my maternity leave at work though. Now I'm working 50% for the next two weeks while I make sure my replacement can handle the software release that's on deck right now, and then I'm off. And my boss, ever awesome, was like "Are you sure? We don't want you to be stressed right now, so you should be off full time now if you're in pain, you shouldn't be trying to be brave." My job is so super boring and I miss being a teacher, but it's so nice working for caring, flexible people instead of a psychopath school principal.

Theresa - Will be thinking of you on Wednesday...can't wait to hear about your next scan on Friday...each step is so exciting!
How's everyone else doing? Sleeping?
I'm really uncomfortable now...never thought I'd ever be complaining about being pregnant but I just want to meet bub now! Checkup was all good...still measuring 2 weeks ahead not that I'm convinced that means much? So now we wait to see Ob on Monday and bub will arrive sometime next week...11 days tops! Finally got my pram and changetable today so we're all set...now just need to get some sleep but bub doesn't seem to think that's necessary...played all night last night!!!! Hope everyone is having a good start to the week

Hi Ladies,
I just got back from my doctor's appt and ultrasound. Our little man is doing really well. He was moving all over the place and making it very difficult for the ultrasound tech. The measurements are still very good, he is growing well. He weighs a bit over 500 grams now. I see the doctor once a week now and I get another ultrasound in 2 weeks. I also get to see my high risk doctor in 3 weeks for another growth scan.
The scans usually allow me to relax for a little while but the measurements can be all over the place. I can have one that says he is a week or more ahead and then one where he is a couple of days behind. Today one of bubs arms was 2 weeks ahead and the other was a couple of days behind. SHE DIDN"T EVEN REMEASURE! I know his arms are fine and that they are both really the same length but wow 2+ weeks difference.
