Willow - sounds allergic. May be food colouring but the heat and wind could also be stirring up something else - pollens / dust etc. It is also spring which could trigger of new allegies / sensitivities to pollen. There is non-sedating antihistamines for kids (Zyrtec is one) that you could try if he still seems symptomatic.
Thank you for the birthday wishes girls, it has been a fun day so far DS is febrile up to 39.5 with a crackly chest, DD has a nasty cough and green snot. All topped off by DH working this evening and no one else around either. Their godmother (and my best friend) is getting hammered at work with 8 hours overtime in the past 24 hours and she is also on an evening today. Oh yay!!!
Having said that, I have been well and truly spoiled as payment for DH working today We had lunch at a s****y restaurant looking over the water on Saturday, followed by some adult time and a snooze in a room in the city for the afternoon (seemed sooooooo naughty!!!) and then Wicked in the evening. Then I got an iPod Nano (woot!!) a CD, a game for the DS and a cookbook for my birthday today. I am VERY lucky to have my DH
BBL for personals when I can get motivated to cook something for the little ones as their dinner time is fast approaching.
ETA - I didn't use a naughty word - I promise Obviously a high class (sw@nky) restaurant is naughty!!! hehehehehe

Michelle I had to giggle at you using a *naughty* word in your post..I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago when my DH came home from an overseas fishing trip and he had pr***ly heat rash and the word was kindly removed with a little note on the bottom of my post
Anyway so glad you've been spoilt in the lead up to today. I really hope you're DS and DD are on the mend very soon too.
Lisa sending all the get well vibes I can muster to your friend. I hope she is recovering ok now. DVT is awful. I had a similar experience when I was 17 and OMG it was very scary
Wonderful that you got an amazing report at your appt today too

Talk is about my limit Lee
Well, I believe it was my birthday yesterday ........... but it was far from fun!! DS is sick - temp of 40.1 and rigors this morning so off to be checked and now on antibiotics. He has been hot, clingy and bouncing off the walls for over 24 hours I have one of *those* febrile children - he gets manic when really hot and off his chops And the little miss isn't much happier
BBL when the screaming subsides - theirs and mine

Oh Michelle, I'm sorry your birthday wasn't more fun......but I'm glad Saturday was so lovely!!! I hope the kiddies are on the mend very soon, must be so hard looking after two sickies on your own . And I hope DS stops bouncing off the walls !!!!!!The ONLY time my DS doesn't bounce off the walls is when he's febrile .
Willow, that cake looked awesome!!!!! What a great job you did . Hope L is better soon, it does sound allergic....hopefully he's better today.
Hey Mako, sounds like you have a good plan in place hun. I hope you don't need to execute any of it, and you get that BFP this month .
Lisa, what a weekend! Hope your bestie is in the mend, how scary. Take it easy hun, don't run yourself into the ground! Oh, thanks, you've now given me a craving for cheesecake PMSL!
Jayne, what's going on in your world missy?????
Lee, not long to go now!!! Pulling the little clothes out must be so much fun I can't wait to do that.
Spring, what's going on my love? Hope you are surviving single-mummydom without too many dramas .
Hello to everyone else, my brain isn't remembering everything right now!!! We had a lovely long weekend, went away until yesterday. Cup Day was very quiet, which was nice, usually we're at someone's house. And my horse was scratched!!! Never mind, I was just so happy to be away having some family time. LOL, I forget that it's not 'Cup Day' everywhere else, it's such a big thing down here, you can't imagine that it's not like it all over Oz! Kellym is moving to Melbourne tomorrow, I told her she should have come a week ago, Cup Week is so much fun . I'm sure she'll be up for meeting with us (Lisa and Michelle) in a couple of weeks!
Better go and hang some washing out while DS is asleep.....gotta make the most of it these days, it doesn't happen every day anymore.

Willow- poor L hope he feels better soon. Im allergic to most food colouring (and a whole host of other stuff) but its definately not as severe as it used to be when I was a kid so he may well grow out of it.
Janie - 18wks, time if flying by! Will you be finding out flavour or are you gonna make us squirm for the next 6mths lol

sorry no time for personals. I'm am stressed beyond belief and have decided enough is enough. I've decided to commence maternity leave tomorrow instead of at the end of next week. I've just reached my limit.
I'll be in more often once I'm finished work.

Janie - can I place my bet after ive seen your belly IRL ? Seriously girl where does time go - look at your ticker fly? Oh and it would be great if Kelly could make it to our catch up. Whereabouts in Melb is she moving to?
Anna - love the mission statement at the end of your sig..
Michelle - hope things have settled at your place..
Mako - thanks hun - she will be home on Saturday, she will have another 2 weeks off with 6 months worth of meds and check ups to follow.
Allergy question from me now, it seems miss a is allergic to cashews and latex. I noticed everytime she plays with balloons her hands get red and blotchy and itchy. She had a couple of cashews the other day and in a matter of minutes her face and hands had red blotches. They settled within about half an hour. She is fine with pistachios (she loves them) and generally eats things with nuts in it but seems its the cashews that get her. Do I need to do anything now (other than not letting her eat them and letting everyone know ie babysitters etc?).
Thanks and hope your all having a nice night
Lis xx

| | Spring - I'm sorry to hear you sounding so stressed. Good idea about going on mat leave earlier - FWIW I've done that every time because I just couldn't make it to the end. Is there anyting we can help you with hun?? Lisa - I don't give my kids any nuts other than peanuts because I have 3 nieces who have quite severe reactions to them (one anaphylaxis). I've been known to literally pull a nutella sandwich out of DDs mouth! I'm sure they'd probably be fine but I'm not willing to risk it. I think you could probably have her tested, but it doesn't sound like it's a 'dangerous' reaction. Although maybe it would depend on how much she ingested/came into contact with? I would take her along to your GP (or paed if you have one) and have a chat with them about it. Janie - Cake may have looked alright but it made my boy sick My bet is on another blue bundle for you...which probably means you're actually having a girl
Ended up taking him to the GP yesterday and yep, allergic reaction . Feel pretty bad about it but there's not much I can do now. He is much better the last two days but still has a cough and runny nose. GP said they will settle as his sinuses stop reacting. The swelling and redness/blotches have generally gone away, although you can still see it a bit under his eyes. When I was talking to my mum about it, she said she swears a similar thing happened last year after his bday party....I think she's right The more I thought about it, the more I remembered he had some sort of a reaction (although no where near as bad, I think it was just a rash last time) and we put it down to the colouring in his cake. Last year it was blue. So from now on I'm just going to have to be more careful I guess. He is obviously a bit sensitive to foods, given this and his lactose intolerance etc.
Well I am looking forward to a full day at home today!! We've been in and out every day this week with appts etc. Hopefully today the boys can have a decent sleep and I might even catch a nana nap if the little miss will let me. Going to try to get organised and packed for our weekend away!! Am praying the weather will be OK, it's supposed to rain Mako - looking forward to seeing you guys hopefully! If you don't hear from me beforehand, I'll give you a call tomorrow or Sunday morning OK?

Spring, I'm REALLY glad you're going on mat. leave now, you sound so stressed. I hope things settle considerably once you've finished work. Take care hun
Willow, I replied to your status on fb about L at the Drs.....don't know what happened to it??? Anyway, go easy on yourself hun, it's hard with a kidlet who is sensitive with foods etc. Especially while they're little and you're working out what they're sensitive to. I just wanted to say that it sounds like you're doing a brilliant job with 3 kids, it must be so hard at times, and you guys have had a rough trot, but you sound like you're coping with it all really well . LOL at your baby guessing skills
Lisa, I don't know where the time goes!!!!! I just know this baby will be here before I know it, and this will probably be it for us. How was your cheesecake???? I'm still craving some, along with a great big Crabapple Cupcake LOL. Shame they're out of business . Might have to find myself something yummy to eat today, it's just so hard as sooooo many things make me sick still . How are you feeling? Does Miss A understand that mummy has a baby in her tummy?
Anna, at your sig!!!!!
I'd better go and get organised, having my parents for dinner tonight, so have to cook and clean! My mum is a clean freak, so I like my house to look at least half decent when she comes over, or she'll go and get the vacuum out herself . God help me if she's sees my ironing pile, she'll be doing it as I try to wrestle the iron out of her hand!!! I myself am more concerned about the dinner tasting really good . And it's a beautiful day here, so I'm off to hang out lots of washing. Hope everyone else has a great day!

Hi again guys!
Willow - the cake you made was unbelieveable! I have no idea how you managed to make that, but will definitely be asking for some tips from you for DD's second birthday. Sorry it made him sick, it must be so stressful worrying about allergies. I have been lucky with DD - she seems fine with everything, so I am hoping that lasts. How is DS now?
Michelle - happy birthday for the other day! Sorry I couldn't post any earlier, been having trouble getting online lately. I hope you had a lovely day Sounds like your DH is a real gem. How are the kids now?
Spring - I am glad you have started your mat leave early, it sounds like you needed it and extra stress is certainly not what you need right now! Enjoy your time with DS before your new little one arrives. I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone! I hope your stress levels are well and truly on the way down now.
Lisa - how is Miss A now?
mako - I hope you had a better night with Sage. How is he now?
Hi everyone else. Sorry I haven't been in much lately - I find it impossible to get online with DD and usually do my online stuff when she has her sleep, but these days I am so tired I need to sleep when she sleeps, giving me very little puter time! I managed to not have a nap today so have gotten a lot of stuff done for a change, but DD has been a little nightmare. She had a late night last night and it has put her out all day today. We have a very busy weekend planned - lots of work in the garden and getting house renos sorted which I am desperate to have finished before the end of the year so the house is all ready for the new bub. There is just so much to do and so little time though! Plus my back is killing me and I am having days where I feel pretty rotten so that doesn't help either.
Have a great weekend everyone

WILLOW _ Oh my goodness I feel awful now about the comment I left on FB about DS1 cake! I'm so sorry, I was actually laughing when I wrote 'red to make him go faster'. Oops! I hope I didn't jinx him. I really hope he is better & fast! I hope you got a few quiet days at home as well!
SPRING _ Great news hearing your on Mat Leave now. When do you shift?
SPRING & JANIE _ I can't believe you're having belly-boom-bah competitions! I love it! I think you should both put photo's in your galleries so we can vote on them!
MICHELLE _ Sorry I missed your birthday darl. I hope the kidlets are all better now & whoa did you get spoiled! You deserve it though!
ANNA _ Did you end up sitting your exam?
LEE, BEK, BUN, KELLY, DEB & Everybody else I have missed big hello's to you. I am trying, trying, trying to get online more, just crazy busy here right now!
ME _ Went to Britney last night. Gee it really peeves me how everybody is going to town about her lip synching! I am BIG britney fan & I knew she was going to lip sync. That was NOT a surprise! There are definitely things she could improve on - her dancing (I have now revived my dream of having a dancing career after seeing her moves ), & she could have engaged the audience more - but if you were a fan, you would have known these things already? I was very disappointed in my tickets though, I had gold diamond seating but it should have been called Cubic Zirconia seating - it was too far away, but I think this was venue issues, rather than Britney issues. I just think give the girl a break. There are more pressing issues in the world to worry about, rather than her lip synching - like my ever expanding backside & thighs. LOL

So sorry to be MIA girls. A lot of things came to a head 'professionally' last week and I just got to a point where my stress was out of control. It isn't all resolved, but at least I've now consulted the powers that be and I'm confident a resolution will result. Everyone has a limit, I just reached mine. I usually thrive under pressure but I just don't have it in me at the moment. I've never cried at my desk before, and I'm embarrassed to say I did this time, I think my boss was totally shocked, it just isn't hard nosed Spring. It wasn't anything to do with the pregnancy, all work related but nevertheless I think some people go the message that I'd had enough. I don't like to feel that I've given up, I pride myself in being bl00y good at my job but I also know it shouldn't be at the expense of my health.
Anyway, I'm slowly coming back. A weekend spent with some wonderful caring friends who get how stressful our jobs are helped and DH coming home and me getting a Sat and Sun sleep-in did wonders. I had terrible cankles, I've never had them before so I think my body is even telling me to slow down.
So I'm back, well sort of. I promise to invest more time into personals as the days go by.
Just wanted to explain my absense.
Lv Spring

Spring
Hope you all had a good weekend.
I did but it definately goes by way too fast. Had a blast at the MindBodySpirit Festival, my reading was mind blowing. I had a sitting with a lovely woman named Anne Marie, I solely picked her because she has the same name as me but as soon as I walked up to her table she said "Have we met before because I know you!". We hadnt, atleast not in this life but I took it as a good sign lol
She touched on my relationship with my mother; gave me some helpful insight into her issues and the reason why we're going through this and reassured me I made the right decision in cutting her out of our lives because she is toxic. She described Ryan to a T bahahaha and got the vibe of his family correct too (she said they were italian-like lots of talk talk talk and people lol) She got my personaliy right. She also touched on the fact my life is all about mothering, not just my kids but everyone I come across. She mentioned my angels; she asked if we knew what gender they were and I said no because they were 1st trimester losses and she said my guides indicated they were little girls; that there were 3 around me watching their brothers. She said they were mentioning a recent baby boy, I explained afterward Stells is under 12mths old so thats who they would be referring too. She said "You want another baby right?" and I laughed I said we were undecided, he says no I say yes. She told me there was a beautiful little soul checkin me out; the guides said its basically a done deal just that I need to leave it some time; I need to focus on me, getting my health good and having some alone time. They kept stressing "wait wait wait" and she indicated the number 2, like in 2yrs or when Stells is in his 2nd year would be good. She even said "Oh when you stop breastfeeding; if you go til he's 2 or 2mths after the time you stop", I didnt even tell her I was breastfeeding still; he wasnt even around. My guides showed her a sneak peak of the next little soul to join us and she just had the biggest smile on her face and said "Ohhhh she is the funniest little soul; a real mini-you. She's showing me her wagging her little finger at the boys telling them 'You know mama said your not allowed to do that!' - imitating you to a T!" She said I MUST rest and take care of myself when I get pregnant so our little girl can join us, she said she's fragile and I need to take it easy. The boys are hardy so they will come through anything. She also mentioned coming into some $$$$ soon ( Dh thinks he'll be deployed) and that a work opportunity will come about for me that will be perfect for me without interfering in homelife and being a mum.
Will be cool to see if it all comes to be; my last reading was spot on accurate, everything that lady said came true. A little girl would be lovely but Im betting its another little boy haha
On that front, I asked Ryan what I should do about replacing the cot the movers lost half of, should I buy a decent one or should I just buy a toddler bed seeing as Stells is nearly 8mths old and both boys were walking and in beds by 12mths.............unless there is a possibility of #4 and he said "........hm yeah I guess we need to make a solid decision about that either way pretty soon.........." bwuahahahahahahaha He's comin around to the dark side YAY!

Anna - Glad you had fun at the fair. I used to go to a lady for readings. I went 4 times in total. At my last reading I thought that she knew me too well and a lot of stuff she said seemed more like assumptions iykwim. She also said that Eva would be a boy Although during my first reading with her she did say that I would have 4 children, to which I nearly choked at the thought lol.
Hi all!!! My first born is 4 today. How time flies. Today is a rainy day just like the day she came into the world. I am so sentimental today lol
