Hi lovelies,

Well, DH and I went and met with the Coroner yesterday - it went okay - but his report still won't be finalised until next year, in the first half he hopes. I had really wanted it finalised this year, and before this bub is born, but it isn't going to happen - just want to put it behind me, and this drags it out. There's no s...fight on our hands at all, all parties - doctor/hospital - have openly admitted to the mistakes they made, and assure us they have not waited for the Coroner's findings before they have changed certain procedures within the system - this is all good to know I guess. Oh well, am waffling a bit, just thought I'd bring you up to speed. I think the things that have now been changed will DEFINATELY keep compromised babies in a much safer environment, where they are attended to immediately upon any suspicions of ill health. None of this brings back my little man, and I'm feeling so sad again about loosing him, wondering what he would look like now, wishing I could hold him again, it just kills you doesn't it

On a brighter note, have my Ob appointment in the morning, finally went and did the GD test on Monday morning - so should get those results back tomorrow. I think this bub is a WHOPPER! Honestly I feel full term already!

Have had trouble with my sciatic nerve (left side) since yesterday - I know it's a common enough problem, getting some deep massage on it tonight which I hope will help - do any of you have any "quick fixes" for this, it's really annoying, with pain shooting down the leg and also radiating up! I feel like an old lady!

Hi Laney - it's nice to "see" you in here - don't put too much pressure on yourself for deciding when to have another bub - you have only just gone through another stressful pregnancy, but thank god this time you got the best present at the end - I guess you need to make peace in your own mind about what/when to go for it. Meantime, how's life with dear little Grayson, he's a cutey in the photo.

Hi to all the rest of you lovely girls! Anna, the reading sounds good, have had a few in my time, and I think they are beneficial at reminding us what's important at times, good luck with that.

Lee xo

Lee: Hun, what a rollercoaster for you I am so glad to hear that those involved have admitted their mistakes and that changes will be made. I'm sorry to hear that it is going to drag on for a bit longer but you know what, your little man would be so proud of his mummy for persevering and getting answers

Laney: Good to 'see' you hun. I think it is a perfectly normal reaction to be scared to TTC again, I'd say almost all of us feel that way. Perhaps give yourself a bit of time off the TTC/pregnancy merry-go-round and when the time is right you'll know. Whether that be next cycle or next year, you'll know.

Anna: Enjoy the pies hun. I hope you get your sleep-in on the W'end, sounds like you've earnt it. So glad that Rip is ok.

Well I'm shattered. I am just so tired, I'm off to bed soon and it's 7.30pm QLD time. Work is just dragging on and TBH I can't wait to finish. I just want to take my days slowly rather than running around at work. Nevermind, 15 sleeps and counting.

Hi to everyone else, sorry just too tired to do any more personals.

Spring

Lee, I am glad that you don't have to fight the hospital to get procedures changed. You are so strong for going through this for so long. Our local hospital invested in some new technology right before Grayson was born. They have small wireless pulse and oxygen monitors that they put on all newborns until they are in their car seat and ready to leave the hospital. I hope all hospitals have them soon.

afm, Grayson is great. He is everything that I hoped for and more. It took me a while to connect with him. I think the fear of losing him was overwhelming for me even after he was born.
He is getting so big. He is in the 90th percentile now even though he was born in the 15th.

Laney - it took me a while to connect too, particularly with DD. She was a girl and my fear of her being taken was much greater than with DS. Sounds like he is growing well!!

Hi guys! It feels like ages since I have posted in here but I have been reading to keep up with you all. We are back from our trip to Perth now but have been really busy ever since we got back. I am getting into some house renos that I want finished before the new bub arrives (or in DH's words, I am 'nesting') and of course trying to organise it all with a toddler is not an easy task!

I just wanted to send some to you all, sounds like some have been through a lot lately and I have been thinking of you.

Spring - on DS's poo accident! DD stunk out a bathroom shop yesterday and then comes running up to me yelling 'poo, poo!', so we had to make a quick dash to the car for a change and boy, had she done a doozy! I swear they save these ones for when we are out somewhere!

lee - huge huge for you. You have been through so much already and to have matters dragging on with the coroner must make things very difficult. I am glad to hear that protocols have already changed at the hospital, although I know all you want is your darling baby boy back.

Anyway, I must get going. Sorry for such a quick post but I have a very demanding toddler on my lap making it impossible to type. BBL.

So Janie, rest assured while you may not have any significant movement, im sure your bub is just as active as mine. Miss A was in there and waving and singing to the "baby on tv'! Ver cute and im very very relieved.

Hugs all around,

Lisa - wonderful news about your scan! Such a welcome relief I bet - glad your little one enjoyed seeing the bub on the telly!

I had my Ob appointment today - and all is well with my little one too - 2.06kgs already according to the Ob - and predicting another 4kg one. Front page of the Hobart paper today is a young woman who just gave birth here to a 6kg baby boy - eeeekkkkk! No natural delivery for her.

Am feeling slightly better, but still 'twitchy' and doesn't take much to set me off again. My Iron levels are very low, so that might explain a few things, am now on a healthy daily dose, but passed with flying colours the GD challenge.

Lee - I am sorry to hear that you won't get closure as soon as you'd have like, but I am glad the hospital is taking ownership and action. You know I just realised that you have a baby girl..although now I can remember posting in your BA My brain is truely gone.

Laney - Hi and welcome. yep the ttc is very scary but some how we all rise above the fear. Good luck

Lisa - WTG on your scan results you must be sooooo excited. Do you know if you are having pink or blue???

Hi everyone!! Question: It looks like I am going to have to put Eva in a porta cot until we've moved Loren to a big bed (easier said than done it appears). In the past we have used a extra piece of foam in the bottom as a matress. The matress has been stored in our cupboard and I am worried that it may be too dusty to use. Would you use it?

Bek I would air the mattress out for a while and see what its like then otherwise I'd probably buy another 1 just to be on the safe side kwim.

Bun Its great to see you're back from Perth. I hope your reno's go well and they are finished in time for your little man's arrival

Lisa and Lee Well done on wonderful scans yesterday.

Lee you are such a brave lady and your little baby boy would be so proud of you. I think its great that the hospital staff have admitted they made a huge mistake but I'm sure that doesn't ease your heartache

Laney Don't rush into another pregnancy if you aren't ready. I'm sure if you and your DH wish to try for another baby then the time will come where you both feel ready.
I know its taken my DH and I a long time for us BOTH feel ready to try and add to our little family.

BW What did you end up deciding to do for Sam's Birthday?

Sazz I've been thinking of you and hope you're ok. You've been a little quiet too

Hi to Michelle,Anna,Willow,Janie,Jayne,Deb, Rach,Spring and BG.

As for us We had Sage's Paed appointment on Wednesday arv and he is so so so happy with him that we don't need to go back anymore. I'm so happy that our little boy is doing so well. He put on 2 kgs and grown 10cm in 6 months which is a fantastic effort for him
Sage also had a tanty in the waiting room while we were waiting to go in lol. DH was so emabarrassed lol.

I've decided to start the Clomid next month(if this month isn't successful) I've O'd each month that we've monitored but I'm thinking my levels are on the low side compared to when I took Clomid before conceiving Sage. I go back to see my Ob/Gyn on the 16th so will talk to her more about it all.

I've got a busy day so I'd better get organised.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

We finally made the decision this evening, Mako. Back yard BBQ. We'll go for 5ish so that it's not too hot (our back yard is pretty much in full shade by then) even if it happens to be a stinking hot day. Sausages, breadrolls, salads, paper plates and plastic cutlery. Nice and simple. Just got to get DH to help with a guest list and decide whether we stick to friends with kids or not... and party games, etc. Do we really need to bother? It gives me just over a month to get the inside of the house looking presentable and all the washing put away - and it may just take me that long!

Bun: Welcome back. Everything takes so much longer with a toddler doesn't it. Bless them they just try to help mummy but it ends up creating so much more work.

Lisa: Wonderful news about your scan and the happy active bubba.

Lee: Wow, 2.06kgs is fantastic. Nice big healthy bub. Glad to hear that you passed the GD test and everything else is going well.

Bek: It is hard to say without seeing it. If you are at all worried just get another piece. You could always wash it with the hose and leave it in the sun for a day or two to dry.

Mako: Fantastic news on DS's paed appointment, that is just wonderful. The pics are just adorable. He is such a handsome little lad. I can't believe he is 2!.

BW: Sounds like a great party. 1st Birthday's are so much fun.

Well surprise surprise I'm tired. I know I'm sounding like a broken record but I'm hanging on by a thread here. DH is away and DS is so miserable with his four molars that he is waking and crying at least 4 times a night. It is doing my head in. Thankfully they are all through so hopefully his discomfort will be gone soon. Stupid thing is I should take advantage of it and go to bed early but I just toss and turn until my usual bedtime of 10.30ish. I just want some energy back.

Spring, have your iron levels been checked recently? I never really had any energy while pregnant and it was all because we just couldn't keep my iron levels up no matter how many iron tablets I took (every time I started to get somewhere, Sam would leach more from me, or so it seemed). You sound just like I felt then...

Hi ladies,

SPRING - I'm CRAZY tired too - my recent bloods showed low HB/Iron - so I'm on the tablets - does explain some tiredness, the rest can be accounted for with a toddler, a 10 and 12 year old, a bub sitting on a bladder all night, too many thoughts etc etc.... It certainly wouldn't hurt you to take iron, and keep up your multi-vitamins, and even if you toss and turn till your normal bed time, at least you are resting and lying down - got a good book or a few trashy mags? I was so utterly tired this afternoon at 3pm that I paid my 12 year old to look after the 1 year old just for an hour while I passed out... if you lived closer I'd send her your way. Hang in there babe - I swear to god it's easier having a new born than being this pregnant (can you all assure me I'm right????????)

Thanks for the advice BW and Lee. When they did my GD test they also tested haemoglobin and it was 117. Apparently it's on the lower side but not concerning yet. I take my pregnancy multivitamin but try to avoid taking any more iron because it makes me so constipated so bad.

I feel a bit better today. DS slept from 6.20pm until 5.30am with only one wake up. I'm up every two hours to go to the loo but at least I manage to get back to sleep quickly.

Only 5 sleeps until DH is home.

Glad you got some sleep Spring - it's always a case of weighing up the pros and cons - I have to take the Iron tablets, I also have a couple of Vitamin C tablets at the same time - they do constipate me too, but I figure this is better than feeling so washed up and bub missing out - see how you go - maybe you could take one every other day, might help, or reallly hammer the iron-rich foods. Try and get a bit more rest today.

I know Lee. I had a simlar crap moment earlier in the week. I've now organised bub's clothes for Hossy and I'm about to go and pick up the special going home outfit from Pumpkin Patch this arvo. Thing is I get all 0000. Ollie was 3.54kgs and was in 0000 for about 6 weeks. Do your kids go straight to 000?

It freaks me out when people say 7 weeks till Christmas because that is so close to both our due dates. And if either of us come early say even 38 weeks that means only about 6-7 weeks to go. Wow, time to admit I'm having another bub (lol)
