Default HPT craziness

Hi All,

I did a HPT this morning (AF due in two days) and because we've been trying for 10/11 months, and I really didn't expect to get a BFP today...was just going through the motions really, not getting my hopes up too much...I left the test a little longer than I should have (20 mins) - got caught up changing nappies and making brekky for little people. Anyhow, there is a definate coloured (pink) 2nd line. Now I'm getting excited, but I am worried that it may be an evap line because I waited too long to check the test... It was my last test!!!! I am waiting for hubby to get home so I can go out and get another test, but even when I get one I'll have to wait for tomorrow's first pee of the day. Grrrrr....why didn't I check it earlier!!! Anyhow, I'm just sharing the craziness because I feel like ringing everyone I know to shout "I'm pregnant!!!" but knowing that that would be dumb...

thanks for listening!

Jules

If the line is pink, I doubt it would be an evap line, but doing another test is probably the safe option

I'm going to say congrats

I did the same thing this month, and went back to the hpt (which I was hiding in the cupboard) way way after the time limit (probably after at least 40 min), but I was pretty sure the bfp was right - if it had been a 'squint and hold it a certain way in the light maybe that's a line' then I would have had doubts, but I think if it is a definite pink line that it is very likely to be a GOER! (I did a test later that afternoon and bfp for sure.)

So - congrats to you! How exciting!!!

ps - If you hold your pee for a few hours and don't drink too much you might be able to try again in the afternoon if you can't wait till morning!

I don't think it's an evap line. I thought I read that they weren't pink. I left mine over night & it looked the same the next day as it did when I checked it after 2 mins.

So here's a tentative congrats to you. Xx

If it is any help to you I have left a neg test for an hour and checked it just to make sure and nothing and I must have checked it 10 times more after that and I never saw anything.

but my positives all looked exactly the same. Even now.

My last miscarriage I started to bleed 10 minutes after I threw the positive test in the garbage. So with my last pregnancy I didn't want to throw them (3) away. So I kept them and now I just look at them in amazement and wonder, "What am I going to do with these?"

Good luck and wishing you happy baby thoughts!

Thanks everyone This TTC thing has been sooooo nerve wracking this time, and I sooooo want it be a BFP.... I shall test in the morning.

BTW, I went to the isle at IGA to purchase another HPT this afternoon, and there were little signs where they should be saying "please ask about this product at the service counter". OMG! I had to ask a pimply 15 year old boy for a behind the counter HPT. I am so not going there again!!!!!

I did another one this morning...it wasn't one of the early ones, so not as sensitive as the one I did yesterday morning, but I got a faint line in the test window (within the 10 minutes)!!!! It is so hard not to get too excited... I know it's early... when should I get a new ticker??!

Congratulations, Juliette! And how funny to have to ask a pimply 15yo for a HPT I wonder why they've put them behind the counter? Anyway, love hearing about that second line! Enjoy choosing a pg ticker!
