Smile Hi :) Advice please!

Hi all,
Well this is my first time ever posting on a pregnancy forum, so unfortunately I don't think I can offer anyone any advice, but hopefully someone can offer me some

My husband and I have been 'casually' TTC since I came off the pill in April. Nothing too serious, just a bit of 'see how we go'. Nothing was happening and in the last couple of months decided to be a bit more smart about it, made sure we did 'it' on certain days, kept track of details, etc.
My last period started on 31st Aug and my most current one was due Monday just gone (28th Sept). It's been 5 days and still nothing. I have had sore-ish breasts, some cramping and a bit of a funny feeling in my lower tummy. I have done HPT's each day since Tuesday and I'm getting nothing but BFNs My periods have always been pretty regular, maybe only ever a day or two early or late, aside from once when I was on the pill and it was about 10 days late. Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on? Or has anyone had a similar experience and they ended up with a BFP? I just keep on getting SO excited and then SO dissapointed!
Thanks in advance!
Angie

Hi Angie,
Welcome to Belly Belly - definately the best pregnancy/parenting forum to join! Im sure you will find if you keep coming back you will soon be offering some great advice, and if not you will no doubt make some great friends!

Congrats on TTC. Sometimes it can take a while longer for a BFP to show up depending on the levels of pregnancy hormone in your system and also the types of tests you are using. With this pregnancy, I was using pee on a stick tests and was getting mixed results so I bought a digital test that gave me a definate YES or NO answer.

Good Luck, hope to see you around!

Hi Welcome to BB!

You're welcome to join us in the TTC forum. Lots of crazy girls - going through the ups and downs of TTC. Here is the link http://forums.bellybelly.com.au/foru...-2009-1-a.html

Depending how many days past ovulation (DPO) can determine if its too soon to test. As suggested there are variations in results depending what test you use. Highly recommened is the First Response brand - found at Woolworths.

Wishing you all the best in your TTC journey.

Hi Angie and welcome I have been posting on here for a few months now and can tell you, this forum is absolutely awesome. I really don't think I would have any idea what I was doing without the support and help of these lovely ladies on here. Hope you find it as great as me.

Hmmmmm, negative HPT and still no AF hey? What HPT's are you using? My absolute fave is FRER (First response early response) and have found that most people that use these recommend them. Also, when are you testing? Are you testing first thing in the morning - this is when the hormone is supposed to be the strongest.

Other than that, the only thing I can tell you is that I have read of quite a few women on here who didn't get a BFP until a few days after their AF was due.

Oh and of course it isn't over until AF shows her ugly face. Best of luck Angie and please let us know how you get on
