Default I'm pregnant again :) best Wesley Ob?

Hello everyone!

I have just discovered I am pregnant again, I'm so pleased!!! My last birth was at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and it was truly awful...it's a long story but suffice to say that I had a rapid delivery and despite my medical history and Ob's notes (my first baby was rapid and just under 3 hours), the midwives didn't believe I was in labour and refused to give me gas... until a senior midwife noticed I was crowning, but of course by then it was all too late to give me any pain relief. The labour was under an hour. It was awful having to beg in a weak voice, in between contractions, "can somebody please give me some gas". The midwives were so nasty, and just after I had delivered, they left me and my husband and baby alone in the room and I started to shake uncontrollably (I was going into shock) and I had to ask my husband to get me a blanket.... I could go on, but it was truly awful and totally unnecessary. I was completely devalued as a pregnant mother and despite my telling them again and again I was in labour, they continued to dismiss me, rolling their eyes at me.

So, I'm now expecting my third child and I expect this will be another rapid delivery because that's what my birthing history tells me.... and am hoping to find a great OB at the Wesley who will be able to support me.

Can anyone suggest such an OB?

I do have a lovely OB at the Royal Brisbane who saw me through my last pregnancy and is more than happy to help me delivery this bub, but she only delivers at the Royal Brisbane but I don't know if I can bring myself to going back there after the way I was treated. She promises to be there to deliver, but I worry, 'what if the midwives don't bother contacting her and what if the same scenario plays out?' If I had listened to the midwives dismissing me last time, I definitely would've given birth to my baby in the car on the way home. It was so distressing, surely I can't afford to allow them to treat me the same way again??!

Any advice would be soooo much appreciated!!

thanks all :-)

PS I just want to say thanks to MantaRay for responding! I've tried to 'reply' but for some reason I'm told I don't have privileges for that (?).
Anyway, a big THANK YOU to MantaRay :-)

Dr Nikki Whelan. I used her for both boys and absolutely love her. Several of my friends have also been extremely happy with her. She delivers at the Wesley and her rooms are in Spring Hill.
