I turned DD1 around far too early. We figured she was sitting up unaided and liked being able to look into the front to see DH and I while driving, and was really big for her age... now I know better. DD2 will definitely be at least 6 months old before I even consider turning her car seat around, and chances are I'll put it off as long as I can. While she's rearward facing, she's next to DD1 (DD1 behind passenger seat, DD2 in the middle) and they amuse each other when we're driving as they're looking right at one another.

Both my children reached the 8kg weight limit on our car seat by 4 months old. We still didnt turn them around until nearly 8 months, when I think they weighed about 10kg. I know I went over the weight limit but I still felt it was safer in reverse than forward facing. I think with the new regulations out (in WA) you have to have them reverse facing until 12 months? could be wrong though.

I would be waiting until bubs is the weight reccomended at turning. So rear facing until they litrally no longer fit weight wise.

Rear facing is the safest way for a child/baby to be in the carseat. It's not worth their safety.

Glamourcide, I found the same thing with DS2. He was really happy rear facing as he could see his brother.
