Firstwheels City Twin vs Other Tandems? - Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Forums ~ BellyBelly

Anyone have a firstwheels city twin? I love the flexibility of having the bassinet & stroller mode next to each other simultaneously, and the option to face either child forward or backward independent of each other. However I realise the pram is 80cms wide.... and hence wont be so great for getting through checkouts etc!

I am torn between this pram and other tandems which are single-file. My issues with single-file tandems are that you cannot change the way bubs face, no bassinet mode for newborns, and bub having the bum of a toddler seat blocking its view.... But then they are so much easier for getting around shops etc.

Oh, what to do...?

Anyone able to help me make up my silly mind?

I LOVE my firstwheels for the reasons you mentioned. They are they same width as a wheelchair so normal doorways are fine and I haven't had a checkout problem yet (use the wheelchair accessible ones if necessary). Also no problems getting around with it either - we took it to the show too!!! Trains can be a challenge but you just need to choose the correct side of the pole to enter through. Wouldn't try a bus though - too chicken!!

I get lots of questions from people too because of the versatility

ETA - if you do an internet search for purchasing you can get significant discounts. I got mine for half the RRP.

Hi,
Hopeing someone help me here! Im looking to but one of these prams and have chacked out all the web sites i can find but none mention if its a good walking pram, i want to mainly use it for walking - with the small wheels at the front are they any good for this? Or is it sturdy enough to be used as a walking pram?

Sorry, another question, do the front wheels get caught in footpath groves? (cant think of what these are actually called!) I read this on another site doing a google search.

They do get stuck in a deeper crack / edge but not on normal footpath cracks.
