| | Ashlee- gee you did really well to hold off until 36weeks given what you had gone through. Nixon was a big boy in the premmie world also. He was 5lb 1oz.
Yep like Carrie said Tiff & also Castle can prob give you some pointers on ear infections. actually there might be a big post from them in the last thread when i asked about it. Has his temperature gotten a bit better now?
Its ok to have PND so don't think any less of yourself, and its great that it could be recognised and have something to help you.
Looking back i think now maybe i had it for sometime too but was in denial and because not many people saw me (family all interstate) no one ever questioned it. I have to be a bit more upfront with my feelings after this bub though and know even if he is a FT it can happen to anyone. Carrie- i am downloading the video now to watch Kayla's first steps!!

| | Castle- Poor Gemma I hope her little ears are on the mend really soon.
I think I will have to make sure that I fuss about the care I want - hopefully I don't chicken out! Nic- Hope you liked the vid!

| | Ashlee, welcome to the group. I agree, you did really well considering everything. I loved the big babies in NICU. They looked like gentle giants! Yep we did have a big discussion about ear infections. It might be in the thread before last though. Just post if we can help with anything. DD is definitely on the mend but I'll have to watch her carefully this winter. Carrie, definitely make a fuss about your care! YOU are worth it...and so is your new little bub. Nic, great to know that Nixon is going so well. Hope you are well too.

Ive just taken Nixon to the docs and he has hand, foot in mouth. Have any of your children ahd it before?
He has a spotty rask on his hands feet, up his legs, ulcers in his mouth and some of the spots are blostery like. Cant eat normal food cause it hurts to so gave him some custard for lunch which he took ok and made up some jelly.
god ever since we've been back to sydney we've (all 3 of us) been sick the whole time.
Nix went through his first 12months without getting much which we were thankfull for, i think he's making up for it now.
he also has a cold so a bad cough and runny nose to add to the equasion.
carrie- love your new avater! ETA: sorry missed your post Tiff, so sorry to hear about Ivy, here i am complaining about sillu illnesses im sorry. I hope she is on the mend soon, thinking of you all

Tiff- Ivy is definately in my thoughts. I hope that she is better soon, she really has had such a bad run. Thinking of you both
Nic- Hi there, poor Nix too. One of the kids in my MG had it, and seemed to get over it fairly quickly, hopefully Nixon does too.
Thanks re: my Av, I'm pretty excited about my preggie belly. I'll have to have a look in at your pg journal to check up how it's all going for you!
Hope everyone else is well!

Nic, both my biggies had hand/foot/mouth (coxsackie virus). One blistered on the feet, one in the mouth. Try the numbing gel sold for teething babies, can't think what it's called. IF he'll let you put it in there! It will go within a week Just very dramatic when it happens!
We have no hot water AGAIN due to the rains last night. Grrr.

Castle-Thanks for the warm welcome, I really hope your DD can stave off as many ear infections as possible, they are just horrible!
Kathryn, I feel like the biggest idiot out, I know now though and will do this from now on
Tiff-I am hoping and praying Ivy gets well ASAP hun, here i am complaining about a silly ear infection and your princess has pneumonia!
Nic-I hope Nixon gets well soon! Is he able to eat normal solids yet or still on soft stuff like custard?
Sez-We're doing ok thank you for asking, how is Nicky?
Blake seems to have gotten over his ear infection for the most part, thank god for panadol and amoxil! He is starting to sleep during the day, IN HIS BED praise the lord! He's been out for almost 2 hours. this is a record for him. Should I just let him sleep, or wake him after three hours (a few people have told me to wake him after 3...??). The PND isn't any better as yet, but I've been told the meds take a bit to kick in, so I'll stick with them and try and do my best to stay positive.
Hope all the sick bubs are on the mend, and all the mummys are doing well also.

Hi Ashlee, welcome to the group. PND is a real bummer. i had it with my first child during pregnancy and after, although I wasn't medicated as the drugs made me extremely tired and with a baby that had severe colic i needed all the sleep I could get.
Surprisingly, I had major anxiety with Ava during my pregnancy and just when I got used to being pregnant she arrived. LOL no time after that for anxiety, maybe the first couple of weeks. I thought maybe I would get PND but even through all the stress I didn't get it. Go figure? more stress, less sleep and I am a better mum this time around.Hope you feel better soon and the meds work fast.
Sorry to hear about all the sick babes. i've been extremely lucky with Ava's sickness considering how small she was. I hope all your darlings get better soon.
Well, i sat my last psychology exam for this semester today and boy was it hard. One more exam on thursday for Criminology and I'm deffering for 6 mnths to spend time with my family. Hubby and i have to work our relationship out or it is going to go down the gurgler.
Will post back next week, with more updates.
Lots of good healing vibes for everyone!!!!

Wow Helena, when was Ava due? I'm guessing in May? Congrats on finishing your exam, it must be a weight off your shoulders, what are you studying?

| | Sez- Hi there, thanks re: the Av, I love having a preggie belly! How are you going hun, and how is Nichols? Nic- Hope that Nixon is getting better. Castle- Bonjella is the teething gel hehe. What a pain having no hot water - you don't realise how much you rely on it til it's gone do you? Ashlee- Glad to hear that the ear infection is clearing. Yeah, it does take a while for the meds to kick in. Are you seeing a psych to keep an eye on things for you?
I'd say Blake's probably sleeping more due to the panadol and being sick - needs sleep for his body to fight the nasties. If I were you I'd let him sleep as long as he gets his feeds. Try to get some sleep in while he is sleeping to! Helena- Goodluck with the Crim exam. I did my honours in Crim! Mitch- Love the new Av and funky hairdo! Tiff- I've been keeping Ivy in my prayers and hope she is better really soon.
As for me- 14 weeks tomorrow, woohoo, the second tri!!!
