Default Changes to the Midwife, GP and Obstetrician Recommendations & Discussion forum.

After a great deal of thought we have decided to change the format of the Midwife, GP and Obstetrician Recommendations & Discussion forum.
From now on it will be open for new topics but not for reply. If you wish to get feedback about an obstetrician please start a new thread. If you wish to reply to another member's questions please do so via PM.
As many of you are aware we get numerous complaints from obstetricians who have received negative feedback. Generally these complaints take the form of threatening to take legal action if we do not remove constructive criticism or negative feedback about them. Since BellyBelly can't afford a legal challenge we have no option but to comply.
As a result of this the picture presented by the forum has become very biased. We think that it is not fair to our members (and lurkers) that BellyBelly has been bullied into a position whereby we are 'promoting' obstetricians who have received negative reviews. In addition if we can only allow members to post rosy reviews as opposed to honest reviews we are in effect, providing a free advertising service for obstetricians who may not deserve positive press.
Another problem that we encounter is members who join up solely to post about obstetricians who have an undeclared interest in their practice. By preventing reply we hope to avoid this kind of spam.
Since PM's are only available to members after they have established a post history we hope that any feedback that members receive will be more reliable and thus of greater value and assistance.
