cc is a measure (cubic centimeters) and your result equates roughly to 1.2ml. cc=ml

| | anyone had more than 1 heamatoma
has anyone had more than one heamatoma during pregnancy..i had u/s this morning..baby is growing perfect, heart rate is great but the lady told me there are multiple small heamatoma's..at my previous 2 scans they only found one..can more develop over time..should i be seeing a specialist for this?? my doc put me on bed rest from 6 weeks and said thats all i can do..he doesnt recomend u/s unless theres bleeding so i went to another doc and got u/s done there, ive neva had any bleeding..im just concerened seeing theres multiples of them now and the largest measuring 5.5cm...is that considered LARGE??

I am 8 weeks pregnant & was diagnosed with subchorionic haemorrhage about 1 week ago after bleeding since 51/2 weeks. I have two healthy boys but have miscarried twice, the most recent being this january so am very nervous it may happen again. My bleeding has not been on and off for 3 weeks, the most recent being today. It is comforting to know that im not the only person & that this can still result in a healthy baby. My next scan is next week as need to have scans every two weeks.

hi rossik, sry to hear about ur losses and congradz on the pregnancy, i know its hard but try to get as much rest as possible..i got 2 young girls 19 months and 8 months but i live with my mum so she helps out wen she can..i was diagnosed at 6weeks and ive neva had any bleeding, not sure if the bed rest had anything to do with it but im one of the luky ones that never had that..im 18 weeks now and all has been going great..my last scan was at 14 weeks and baby was measuring 5 days ahead so all is going well..i have my next scan this tuesday the 25th and i cant wait to see how much my lil man has grown..ive got a doppler and listen to the heartbeat every day for reassurance but heamatoma/heamorrage is very common during pregnancy and the majority of the time they reabsorb before 20 weeks and sometimes they stay longer, but as long as they are not interfering with the growth of the baby then it doesnt matter how big it is..at my 14week scan i had a few of them and altogether they measured almost 11cm, so thats a pretty big clot..if u have any questions or need any advice feel free to ask...goood luk and i hope all goes well, ohh and one more thing drink as much water as u can, ive been told that drinking lots of water can help reabsorb the clot.

| | Still bleeding!!!!
Hi,
I am 19+3 and have been told I have a subcorionic hemotoma. I had my inital bleed at 15+6 which was heavy and bright red. Since then I have been bleeding everyday. Some more than others and its brown (old) with a little red (new). Everything I can find online is for women that have had this start heaps earlier. Anyone out there with a 2nd trimester one?
I had u/s yesterday and they said its now 7cm. I am assuming this is a pretty big one! They didnt tell me how big it was when I had u/s 2 weeks ago but to my untrained eye it did look a bit smaller!!
Anyone in a similar situation now or in the past that can give me an idea on how bad this is!!!!! I cant get in to the doc for another 2 weeks!!!!!!

Unfortunately i had to have a D & C yesterday as they couldnt find bubs heartbeat last week. The subchorionic hematoma had corrected itself but the baby had died - they are not sure if this is related or not. It is called a missed abortion as my body hadnt recognised that the babys death & my body was carrying on with the pregnancy as per usual. The hospital sonographer did say if i hadnt had gone for a scan due to the hematoma i would have found out in my 12 week scan, which i think we have been harder to deal with as you kinda think your pregnancy is safer after this point. Hope all is ok with everyone else. My prayers are with you all.

Rossi K -I am so sorry for your loss.
Loz - hugs hun. I know how scary it is. I haven't had one in second trimester, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who have. If they were worried about it, you'd be seeing someone sooner.
I know there's not alot that I can say to make you feel at ease, but I'll be thinking of you. I hope that the haematoma disappears soon. Let us know how you get on.

| | 16 weeks 4 days and counting
Hi all, I am 29, and pregnant with #6 (yes #6) I miscarried a 16 week baby in march,(and have lost 3 other angel babies) so was so thrilled to be pregnant again. Then at 11 weeks, had a huge bleed, the ultrasound showed a healthy baby and a small hematoma. (which they said would 'probably go away') I continued to bleed, on and off, sometimes very heavy. Had another ultrasound 2 weeks ago, now I have 2 hematomas , 1 small, but the other is huge. I am still bleeding, now 16 weeks 4 days. The frustrating is no one can tell me anything. Not the gp, or the ultrasound people, or the hospital. No one has advised bed rest or told me what I should be doing, It is just so horrible not knowing anything!

Hi All
Have been reading through this thread and feel a little reassured. I have had a terrible time with this pregnancy (my second pregnancy, I have a 2 yo son after a totally natural healthy pregnancy).
I am 12 weeks this week. I had bleeding between 6 and 7 weeks, brown, red and some clotting. I had a scan and was told I had identicle twins with two healthy heartbeats, but that the pg was high risk because of a shared placenta and amniotic sac. I had another scan at 8 weeks to find out one of my twins had died. The other one was doing great though.
Heavy bright red bleeding started again at 11 weeks. I was sent for a scan straightaway and told I had a small subchrionic haematoma. I had another scan 2 days later after bleeding bright red for 2 days and the Dr said the clot had gone and everything looked good, baby is doing great. The bleeding has stopped.
I am just freaking out now hoping that nothing awful happens from here. With the loss of one of my twins and all the stress of trying for 18mths to get pregnant with this time (an ectopic, DH getting epididymitis then 2 failed IVF cycles) I dont know if I can cope with much more. I have my 12 week scan on Friday and I am hoping it wont show up anything nasty. I just have a bad feeling in general about this pregnancy.
Sorry for my long post but it has been a long 2 months.
Jess

| | New here - SCH after ivf
Hi, I am new to this message board. I have had a rough year. I had one natural m/c; an iui cycle that resulted in nothing; a second iui cycle that resulted in a chem. preg.; and currently an ivf cycle that I am preg. from, but now have SCH. I don't know how much more I can take.
I am currently 6w and very worried. I started bleeding on Wed. night last week, after DH went to work. There was so much blood, I thought it was another m/c. I had an u/s the next day and it was SCH. The RE put me on bedrest and told me to drink a lot of water. Other then that, there is nothing to do - I was told - but to wait and see. I hate that let's wait and see approach. My next appt. is thurs. this week.
Any advice on how to keep your sanity while on bedrest? I am just so worried about another m/c. I have no living children (just the m/c) and I feel like this is my last chance to have a baby of my own.
Thanks for listening,
Natasha

Hi there
I can only share my recent experience which has turned out well so far. As you can see from my post I bled between 6 and 7 weeks, then at 12 weeks. But I had my 12 week scan and the perinatalist said everything looks fine now and that the SCH had bled out and hopefully I wont have any more problems. Baby is growing great and all looks good. I might go on that holiday to Bali afterall.
I didn't really do the bedrest thing, just took it a bit easy.
It is so hard Iknow and frightening and isolating but I took some comfort in the thought that there is really nothing I could do.
I hope it all turns out well for you. If you have a obstetrician just keep asking to be scanned to reassure you all is OK with bubs. Mine got a bit annoyed with me but I dont care - it helped get me through.
Take care
Jess

Hi Jess, Thanks for the encouragement. I see from your signature that you are due in April and did ivf. We are not that far apart. I am due in May and also did ivf. I am glad the SCH bled out and all is fine now. That is reassuring news.
Take care,
Natasha

Hi Natasha and Jess
I also have this condition from an IVF pregnancy (our 10th attempt). I started spotting at 7.5 weeks but they were not at all concerned about this. I had a bleed at 9.5 weeks, a bigger bleed at 11 weeks and my biggest bleed yet last night. US shows bub is fine, bouncing around and normal growth etc but there is a clot approx 4 cm at the edge of the placenta I'm so terrified. I want this baby so much. I know there is nothing I can do but hope and rest. Nice to know others are feeling the same thing.
