Question Don't wont to worry, HELP...what do you think?

Hello everyone, I'm trying not to stress but I've started to google things & I am starting to stress myself out LOL.

I am just over 30wks pg & today have had severe chest pains, I had them about a week or so ago also. It was so painful I couldn't sit still. Today it's been on & off. I also just noticed today one of my ankels is very swollen (never a prob with first bub). Should I be worried about the chest pains? I hate going to the hosp to feel like I've wasted mine & their time.

I think you need to go to the hospital and get checked out. I had a similar thing when I was pregnant with DS. They never found out what it was, but I went into labour a day later. Good luck!

Also... I went to the hospital with various weird conditions during both pregnancies, none of which resulted in anything, but the midwives always said that they'd rather have me come in and get checked out and it be nothing, than stay at home for a few days and it be something and having something bad happen.

Maybe just call the midwives to see if it's anything to be concerned about. You never know it could be an indicator of something mre serious. I'd rather feel like a dill for calling them about some indigestion or something inane than ending up being seriously ill nand not calling cause I didn't want to bother them! Hope you feel better soon.
And OMG, 30 weeks already????? Where has that time gone!

I had severe pre eclampsia with DD, and although I told my GP on several ocassions about the pains I was having, she kept dismissing them (until I trusted my instincts and fronted to the hospital with a blood pressure of 200/140!). Sorry for the hi-jack!
If you're worried about pre eclampsia the pain would be (usually) tucked under the rib cage, in my case it was on the right side.

I would rather feel like a dill and get it checked out than risk anything more developing (if that so be the case)....

Thanks for the replies everyone...yes 30wks already eeeeeekkkk & DH is only just starting to paint the room needed.

Leesa, yes I googled a few things & am a little worried about PE. The swelling just came out of no where & I do suspect I may have a UTI. I'm due to see the doc on Tues, but may go to the hosp tomorrow is I get the pains again. Just worried me as the pain was horrible, right under my boobs & I could not concentrate. Also yesterday, for no reason I threw up several times for no reason at all. Hmmm, perhaps I should get checked out sooner than later.

Yep, under the right boob - that sent an alarm bell off in my head just as I read that...

I agree with you, sooner rather than later hun. Any dull pains in the forehead region or visual impairments??

nothing wrong with my vision, I've had a headache everyday for what seems like forever now. Just figured it was pregnancy & running after a naughty 2.5yr old. Think I might just pop in to the hosp in the morn & get a quick check. The other thing that got me wondering is usually I'm not big on arvo naps & today & yesterday I couldn't get enough sleep. oooh now I'm just starting to worry myself lol!

Try not to worry about it (easier said than done) but I am officially banning you from the internet until you get checked out in the morning. Headache is another sign too.

Keep me posted!

As a nurse, I always advise anyone with any kind of chest pain to have it checked out regardless of their health or condition. Chest pain should not be ignored and always checked out.

And I agree - keep away from google until after you're checked out! My X used to hide my medical books when I was pregnant for the same reason - self diagnosing is so bad for our mental health!

Erin
Go to the hospital.
It is probably nothing but it could also be HELLP Syndrome

Do you have big boobs? I only ask (not cause I'm a weirdo ) cause particularly when I'm pregnant and my boobs get even bigger, I get some condition happening where the muscle wall behind the boobs seizes? It freaked me out when I was pg with #1 and had to go to emergency and get an ECG, but that's what it turned out to be, and my physio has since confirmed it. It's kind of an extra weight thing, and kind of an inactivity thing (cause it's not like you're jumping them around too much when pregnant, iykwim) And the pain is RIGHT under my boobs. But it's nothing serious - feels like a heart attack , but it's just muscular.

But to be safe, get it checked out - at least you'll rest a bit easier x

After i had DD i kept getting sharp pains in the middle of my chest right where my bra was and they were VERY painful, they didn't ease and one day i started to hyperventilate from the pain.. turns out i had gallstones.. OUCH!
I seriously thought it's the kind of pain a heart attack would feel like.

They say a lot of pregnant women get it as they increase the amount of dairy they have, it might be something to look at. Might started out a low tolerable on and off pain but when a a stone got stuck.. OMG.
Hope it's nothing serious...

Erin- Glad to hear that you are going to get it checked, not trying to scare you but- my Best Friend had similar symptoms that she ignored and she had HELLP syndrome, it went undiagnosed and she ended up having 2 seizures, luckily for her she was at the end of her Pg and her DS was delivered by emergency c-sect under GA.

This is now why I warn anyone who is having weird symptoms to just keep getting it checked, it is usually nothing, but just in case it isnt, you need to get it looked at.

Fingers crossed for you that it is nothing serious, just weirdo pg symptoms.

I had this too during my pregnancy. It started around 7 months and the pain was horrendous. I mentioned it to my Dr several times but he always reassured me it was just muscular and would get better one the baby came. It did get better after the baby came but my DS is now 2 and it still bugs me on occasion if I bend the wrong way.

I would definitely get it checked out though to make sure it isn't anything serious. it's not a waste of time if you get to put your mind at ease.
