Hi

Well here I am. I honestly hoped that I wouldn't need to be at this point, having faith that my body would come good with time, but after 18 months since going off the pill, and only 9 months of actually getting AF (CD 46 days!), DH and I have decided its time to go on Clomid.

Today will be the first day of the first round. Dr is starting me on 50mg for CD 2-6, which I see from others is a small dose. Hopefully that will be enough to do something.

I look forward to reading this forum and get the wisdom of your experiences.

Saffi,
I just wanted to wish you all the best with the upcoming cycle, at least with clomid you will start to cycle alittle better and hopefully have that BFP before too long.

Best of luck with your first Clomid cycle Saffi.

I'm on my second round of Clomid, also taking 50mg on days 2-6. Generally your Dr will start you on a lower dose, as higher doses may cause ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, which is rather nasty. They will monitor whether you ovulate or not on that dosage, and possibly increase you if you require it.

I ovulated on my first cycle of Clomid (YAY!!), which I don't think had happened for any of my previous cycles, which were as long as 87 days, so you may not need a high dose to get the right response IYKWIM.

Good luck with it Saffi - I hope you catch the eggie

Good luck Saffi. My DD is a clomid baby. (Though I've had to pull out the big guns for #2)

Hi ladies

Thank you all for your support. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Kirtsy and Inspiration (and keep your crossed for me). Good luck Tam with your treatment too.

Last night was the last tablet in this cycle. So far I think I got through with minimal side effects. The list was pretty scary (seizures!!!). I did have awful hot flushes at 3am in the morning on most nights. Given that it is so hot up here I wasn't sure if it was just me or the weather!! Hope that the next hot flush I have is with menopause (many years from now, LOL).

Off for the blood test in 2 weeks and then a follow up visit to the Dr.

One question, read that I will ovulate sometime within the next 6 - 12 days. Should I watching the CM and/or just test all the time?

I am starting my first cycle on Clomid tomorrow too!

I am having 50mg on days 2-6 and wondered if its better to take them in the morning or at night before I go to bed? Does the time of day you take them make a difference???

Hi Tinka. My gynae told me that it didn't matter what time of day, as long as it was the same time each day IYKWIM. I took mine in the morning, when I take my folate and evening primrose oil, as that was the easiest to remember.

Saffi - best wishes for this cycle! My Specialist told me not to look at the side effects as they were very uncommon.

Cherie - best wishes this time hon. Thinking of you.

Tinka - Goodluck with starting Clomid - wishing you all the success you know hon. I took mine in the morning with Folate too.
