LTTTC Two Week Wait - Oct to Nov

Hi girls,

I am just about to leave to have the blood test. I have done another POAS and negative again, so I am preparing myself for bad news. DH and I were just discussing what we would do and we keep changing our mind. Money wise it would make sense to try for another transfer, body and head wise I think I need a break. I don't really know what to do.

I was going to wait until after work before finding out the news, but unfortunately they have to rush the results just in case they need to courier out more progestrone support, which I will need to pick up by three thirty. So not only will I be at work when I hear the news, but some of the people I work with will know as well because I had to warn people that they may need to cover for me if I have to duck out. Can't do anything in secret when you are a primary teacher!

Alright now I am just putting off leaving, I best be off. I hope evryone has a good weekend. Will let you know the reults tonight.

Loads of luck for those having blood tests today. Even if you POAS were negative, it's not over until the fat lady sings (as one of you told me last month!!). Hopefully it's not just the crinone.

If anyone is in MIVF at 11ish today, I'll be there in a slightly mental cream and red cardigan - say hello! It's IUI# 3 time and third time lucky!!! I feel I'm fully prepared: the dog laid in this morning (rest) and I've had an egg sandwich for breakfast (protein), charged my IPOD so I can listen to 'our' music when it's being done (calmness) and babysat for a screaming child last night (karma). Now all I need is science and enzymes and luck!

Londonmiss hope today is the start of a great 2WW journey. Sounds like you have a really good plan and that you are really focused on yourself. I too did the same this time so I'm really hoping that the little emby has done its job and burrowed in. Hopefully we can meet at MIVF at some stage...

AFM well with 6 days till the BT the mind games have started...am I no I cant be. Had a really restless sleep last night and woke up with a start this morning at 5 but then managed to get some more rest needless to say I feel really tired today. When I get home from work I feel like I'm nesting cant seem to sit still and always looking at tyding something around the place. I feel really thirsty all the time and mouth is constantly dry and this time for the past two nights I have been getting sharp stabbing pains on the left side of my back its not a normal symptom for my AF so I'm hoping it means my little one is burrowing itself in

Thanks for everyone holding out hope for me, but i'm definitely a negative. I knew it already, so was quite prepared for the phone call.

Now it's my turn to hold onto hope for the rest of you who are in the tww! Go get 'em girls !

I came home this afternoon to a lovely cuddle with my cat, and a very excited puppy - what more could i ask to put a smile back on my face hey?

Hi Ladies,

I have come across from the LTTTC forum. As of last Wednesday, I am now in the TWW! Scary, nerve wracking and exciting all at the same time!

It's good to see some familiar names from the LTTTC forum - hello everyone!

I have just completed my first IVF cycle and it was quite intense for a while there - sniffing, jabbing, EPU, ET etc. Now apart from my crinone application there is not much to do but wait....my BT is on the 6th Nov however I will not be able to contain myself and will POAS a few days before....

Hi girls,
My test was also negative, and I also had a cuddle with my furbabies (2 cats). I actually took the news pretty well which surprised me, I actually cried all the way to the blood test because I knew what news was coming. I suppose I got it out of my system. It was only when people tried talking to me about it I started to tear up. So I told a couple of people to back off otherwise I would start howling, they were fine after that.

London Miss I wish I could have seen that mental cardigan, I am also with MIVF so we may run into each other. Although, this will be your month so lets hope you won't be hanging around there too much in the future.

Theresp- You are in my thoughts.

mitf i too have been really thirsty today drinking nearly double the usual amount but still not able to get the dryness out of my mouth..must be the extra hormome although this didn't happen last time

This may not have been your month but hold onto that hope that it will be your turn soon. Thinking of you both as you gather your thoughts. terry - my thirst has died down now, I think it was a combination of a hot day and all the progesterone in my system. Looking forward to when I can stop taking these pesserires. Glad you are managing to keep busy... I hope you can push the mind games away and focus on the positives. Not long to go now.

melttc - welcome to this tread hon. I hope the wait passes quickly and you mange to keep busy with your mind elsewhere.... easier said than done though.

I have had a busy day so managed to keep my headspace clear from TTC. Had acupuncture this morning which also helped centre me. No real sign except for sore boobies.... although I know this could just be the pesseries. Tempted to POAS but I always get really down and disappointed when they are negative.... don't think I want to go there ..... only 3 sleeps to go.

Will finally join in here, transfer was on Monday so am 4dp3dt. We had two put back this time which is a first for us, but every other time we have transferred blasts, so a bit nervous about putting back day 3 embies. We have named them snug and buggles would be happy for one or both to stick. BT is on monday 2nd, but i am trying to hold out to do a hpt until 9dp3dt which is next wednesday.

is everyone else going out of their mind in the 2ww!

I too have been abnormally thirsty, but do each time I have Pregnyl in my system. My body tells me porkies, I don't trust anything my body does while Pregnyl is onboard. X

Teresep and Sonyalouise - I'm so sorry to hear your news. Nothing we say can make it any better other than I hope next month you get a BFP. When I got my AF last month, I took consolation from reading old threads on BB, and it's amazing that almost 100% of ladies have tickers on with babies ages. So it must work for a lot of people eventually. Hang in there x

'Thirsty ladies' - I'm bored bored bored with soft drinks, and can't stand most fizzy drinks - the only thing that quenches my thirst is tonic water with ice and lemon - that might work if you are v thirsty? (the only other fizzy thing I like is champagne )

Just one bit of info as I asked the question some time ago on an old thread about swimming or having a bath after IUI. I asked FS on Friday and he said it was nonsense to wait, once it's above your cervix it's fine. In fact he said he recommends it for the relaxation, so there's an answer. Despite this, I've waited two days but will be going this afternoon.

BecD - I'm glad I'm not the only one that names them. This month, they are called Alpha and Omega, one the basis that if they both work, it will be the beginning and the end of my IUI career.... geddit? (this really is only weakly amusing and then only if you are either Christian or Greek!!)

AFM - well, nothing really. I've been trying to take it easy. Am almost used to decaf tea. I'm sneaking in lots of vitamins just in case, like extra spinach in my scrambled eggs. It's tedious waiting though. A change from other two cycles is that my three girlfriends now know as does my Mum (the actual dates and so on) and they've all been doing web research and keep coming up with wierdest questions. Mum asked me yesterday about my follicle size. V wierd!!! Do you all have people who know this? I wonder now if it's just adding more pressure. Have you read the things to do in the TWW list on here? I'm planning on doing the last one and outsourcing symptom spotting!

Anyway, sorry for the epic. I hope you are all well and apologies if I've not mentioned you, I am thinking of you all and hoping to see a veritable flood of BFPs in the next couple of weeks - statistically we should get a couple! Imagine the fun telling your parents at Christmas when they've got a mouthful of something

Hello to all the familiar ladies from the LTTTC thread and to all of the ladies that I haven't met yet .

Thought I would post in the 2WW thread as I had 2 x 5 day blasts transferred yesterday - yay ! Was kinda a shock that we transferred 2 as I only found out when signing all the documentation before the transfer... the scientist was going through the list confirming that we were transferring my eggs and DH's sperm and then... '2 x eggs' ... I was like what the :!!!! Lucky DH was with me and we quickly decided that we could probably handle twins and if transferring 2 will give us slightly better odds, than why not!

Anyways... just a quick one to introduce myself and sorry for no personals today... I will try and catch up with where everyone is at and then attempt some .

Wishing all in the 2WW lots and lots and lots of !!!!

Welcome to the newbies in the 2WW must admit reading and joining in has helped me through.

LondonMiss my FS said that I could go back to exercise 2 days after IUI but suggested that I not really raise my heartbeat over about 110 so as not to overheat the body. Our family also knows what we are going through but I found the pressure of the constant questions from my mother on law overbearing so when we had a break last month I told her that my FS suggested that they back off because it was making things worse...so now they just don't ask and this cyscle I feel a lot better

Mitf hope all is still going well for you and you get the good news you deserve

AFM just feeling normal today which I hope is a good thing spent some time in the garden getting some vitamin d and cant wait for DH to finish his nightshift so we can spend some time together

LondonMiss - glad to hear your IUI went well. I would love a bath but am too scared.... I like them really hot and apparently told is a no no. Oh and I find a glass of half cranberry juice and half sparkling mineral water is very refreshing.

MurrayCod - I hope your cramping is a good sign and your little embie is making it self at home.

AFM - Have avoided the temptation of POAS. I always get so disappointed when they come back negative. I have had a bit of tummy cramping and sore boobs which is promising.... but also a sigh that AF could on her way.... looking forward to it all being over one way or another.
