theresp, I have always had progesterone supplements on my fresh IVF and FET cycles. I personally would have very serious concerns about doing a fresh cycle without them. In the past my LP has been significantly decreased by the stims and would be insufficient to allow a pg without the progesterone. We even increased my progesterone to 3 crinone per day for my most recent cycle since 2/day didn't seem to be enough. On the other hand, the FET I did was a natural FET, so they were probably unneccessary for that cycle but my FS prescribed them anyway since they can't hurt.

Theresp - I'm having my 1st FET this morning and I had a BT on Friday to check my Progesterone level and the nurses called and said all good don't need the Crinone. Because my emby is being put back in at the stage it would be at in my natural cycle I would hope that my Prog would be high enough naturally but with a stim cycle or perhaps a managed FET (I think some FS' control your hormones still) your body isn't in the right place so they need to top you up... I think it all depends what protocol your FS had you on for your stim compared to this.. There are so many different ways to manage a cycle that it's hard to compare sometimes.. Good luck Monday with your FET.. We are only a couple of days apart..

| | Lilmiss - yes, my cycle is still a managed FET, so that may be why my prog levels are a bit low, and i need to increase my pessaries to 3/day - and you're right, there are so many ways to manage a cycle! Sometimes it can make you worry, as you read about how another's cycle is being managed, and you think 'why is mine not being done like that?' Sends you round the twist! Best wishes for your FET today - we will be very close, and in the tww together Juniper i feel an extra peace of mind that i'm taking the prog pessaries right up to and hopefully (if i get that BFP) beyond BT - on my egg collection cycle, i had one shot of pregnyl after my et, and that was it, so this time, if nothing else, atleast i feel as if i'm doing more iykwim?

| | day 3 or blastocyst?
Hi Girls,
Today is my 2nd day after FET...doing fine... taking progynova 3xday, crinone2xday and Synarel 2xday.
On our case we got 23 eggs and 16 fertilized. They were all frozen on day 1. On the thawing process we were aiming to have 4 living embryos and to take them to day5 blastocyst stage. From 9 embryos 4 survived the thaw. All of them developed well but none got to blastocyst on day 5, although 2 indicated a very good development and were starting to compact, which means developing to a blastocyst... We got those 2 transferred.
GL for your FET! and GL for all of you starting IVF cycle soon!!!

Esperan - glad to hear that your transfer went well. on the TWW.
Loops - it does sound like our dates will be very close, and it will be great to compare notes. I know what you mean about the cost, at least we end up getting a lot back via the safety net, although I found this took a while when did our IUIs.
Taurean78 - Wishing you all the best for your 1st IVF cycle. I am also embarking on my first IVF - doing down regulation without the pill. I have a BT on 3 July and will start synarel that night if everthing is on track. I am not too sure about the Lucrin costs. I am pretty sure my clinic's costs are all inclusive. I presume the clinic can purchase cheaper in bulk
Lilmisshavachat - I hope you FET went well today. GL on your TWW.
Theresp - what are the implantation tests that you referred to below? GL with your transfer tomorrow.
KayKay - wow 20 follicles in each ovary, that is fantastic! GL with the rest of your treatment.
Seph - sorry to hear your feeling a bit low at the moment. Wishing you all the best and hopefully it will be your turn for a BPF soon.
Hi to everyone else. I hope you have had a lovely weekend

Hi Mitf - the tests re. implantation that i had are as follows.... not sure what they individually represent, but here they are:
PT APTT
B12 RCF
TSH
ANA
ADNA
RF
ACB
PEI
FVL
THROMB
AT3 PROTC SAG APC DELKCT
SCP-514
Nothing showed up as an issue for me, but it is peace of mind to rule things out. I think there are a couple of threads on BB talking about implantation, and tests that others have had.
Hope this helps you

theresep, wow that is a lot of tests! Thank you, this is good info to have. I know what you mean about 'peace of mind'. I will have to discuss with my FS next time I see her.

Hi guys - just a quick update, we had epu on Friday. We got 9 eggs.
On Saturday 5 had survived and fertilized. I am on my way to the clinic now to have a 3 day transfer. Wish me luck!
I am a little worried cause I thought that day 5 transfers are better? Can anyone share their experience?
Baby dust to all xxxx

Hi there,
Esperan & Lilmisshavachat I hope your FETs went well and you are both feeling good .
Krikkit - I hope your transfer was straightforward and best wishes
KayKay - All the very best for your collection on Thursday. I'll be thinking of you and can reassure you that the day surgery facility at SIVF is not as clinical/hospital like as you may expect. I understand your apprehension but am sure that you'll be in safe hands
Mitf - good luck with your BT on Friday and thanks for your welcome. I managed to price Lucrin at $208 which is a lot better than the initial $280 I was quoted. And I think i?ll get about $60 from Health Insurance so not so bad as it could have been.
I will be out of action from Friday when I am on holidays
In NZ for 10 days - all South Island and finishing up skiing with friends in Queenstown with their 6MO DD. Hopefully a good head-space break from TTC.
Start my Lucrin injections when I am over there.
Good luck to those heading towards or in their TWW and of course to the rest of you wonderful women.

Hi girls,
I know it has been a very long time since I have posted in here, but I have had a lot going on and really haven't felt comfortable posting.
I have just come out the other end of a cancelled cycle due to OHSS risk.
I have a question for anyone who is kind enough to answer;
'If your FS was going on holidays during your ET, would you allow another doc to do the ET or would wait a cycle for your FS to come back?" I'm really confused and don't know what to do.
Thanks
Lovenhope

Lovenhope,
I'm sorry that you are in this situation and it is no doubt a really tough decision.
I'm sure there are lots of ladies here that can help you. I know that at my clinic, nearly all the FS are away at the moment for a fortnight due to an International Conference, so many women have had to make that choice.
I would say that I would let another FS do it if it was a FS who regularly worked at the clinic and if I could meet with them before the procedure. Unfortunately this can't always happen.
On one hand, rappport is everything for me and I like to have a relationship with the person who is helping me. On the other hand, I have to try not to be such a change-hating Taurean and "roll with it" to a degree. This happened recently to me when I was phoned and told that my FS was no longer working from the clinic. So I had to go with someone else, and, as luck would have it, they seem to be great and better qualified too!
It's very personal but I hope I've given you a few different perspectives.
Good luck.

Thanks Taurean.
I think we might be at the same clinic. I tried PMing you, but you don't have enough posts. My FS is covering for a some that are away at the moment and will take holidays as soon as they get back. Which falls right when my ET would be! I'm leaning towards waiting for him, but I have a few days to decide.
Thanks again.

Lovenhope if it helps, I have often had other FS do EPU and ET. At Monash where I used to be it would be whichever FS was on call. That said I can understand your feelings. Good luck!

Another quick one- my Internet at home is dead, this is from my iPhone.
We got one embie transfered yesterday the told me it scored 2.5 out of 4 and was and 8 cell embie.
The also froze one which was also a 2.5 but only had 6 cells. The other 3 were slightly fragmented and were being grown out to day 5 to see if we can freeze some blastys too. I will find out if they make it tomorrow.
Other than that feeling ok, trying to keep things as normal and relaxing as I can. I had some pinkish spotting today am I am hoping that's normal. The other strange thing is I am only on 10000iu of pregnyl injection every 4th day no pessaries or other drugs.
Hugs and baby dust to all!
