| | GentleBirth Pregnancy and Birth Education's Philosophy
I came across this, this afternoon and just had to share it with you girls. Quote: | GentleBirth Pregnancy and Birth Education’s Philosophy
If we lived in a world where…
Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting
Were considered
NORMAL
We could….
Birth without fear
Birth without the need for machines
And
Birth without instruction or intervention
As
Birth is a family event
NOT
A medical procedure
We would use…
Our womanly senses
To birth instinctively
And birth intuitively
We would trust birth
We would make informed choices
Decisions which are right for us
Not for anyone else
We would not let ourselves be dictated to
And told what we are allowed or not allowed to do
We would work with our bodies
Not against them
And above all we would trust our bodies…
To produce healthy babies
To labour as we need to
To birth
To be able to breastfeed
And to be able to parent
We would parent attached children because we would…
Carry them
Answer their cries
Sleep together
Breastfed on cue
And
Allow them to witness
The miracle of birth
We would bond as a family unit
If rules, clocks, and regulations were
Thrown out the door, we would have
Happier parents,
And
Happier children
The world would be a nicer place to live in
Because,
Parents and children would be more secure
And more confident
Less violent
We would use our hearts to guide us
Not the regulations set out in books
Because no one knows our bodies or our children as well as we do
GentleBirth Pregnancy and Birth Education support women
to be empowered by knowledge and thus
birth instinctively, creatively and beautifully
To be able to give our babies a gentle start to life
And to advocate tender parenting
And to inspire Gentle Birth

Thankyou Trish for posting this up. I am Rachael Austin the owner of this site. I'd tickled pink that you enjoyed reading my philosophy.
