We've only just decorated
DS's bedroom. Finished it September. He was over two and a half years old. Go lazy parents!
RE: BLS - a lot of older people loved seeing me just buy a pear for
DS, take the stalk out the top and give it to him to eat in the pushchair (which faced me, a rarity where I live). Even better was
DS in the sling and we'd share an apple. But fewer comments on how cute
DS is eating fruit and I'm a good mummy for buying him fruit with a sling. This was at about 7m old! Mums (as opposed to grandmas) were very against it though; almost everyone told me
DS would choke. He only did once - on some crayons.
I'm waiting on the automatic cleaner. When they bring out a Noo-Noo, which also makes beds and does the washing up, that's when I buy one. We've seen it on
Teletubbies, it must be near reality soon... (once the Dyson packs up we're getting one!).
I do bedtimes simply because
DS is a NIGHTMARE when he's up late with us. He needs to be asleep before 8 else he's trying to play at about 5am. Luckily he set off my parents' house alarm this morning so was scared enough to come back to bed and sleep with me once that was done.
Oh yes - no house alarm. No leaping out of bed at 5am to turn the damn thing off after
DS has set it off. Lazy parenting works for me! (Actually, stairgates may work. If only
DS didn't shake them until they fell off. Lazy parenting - don't have to remember to close the stairgate, just teach your child how to do stairs. Or live in a stairless house, as I do!)
