so dh and I decided yesterday we will start TTC #2.

We actually started last night lol  sorry TMI

anyway, we are hoping it doesn't take as long this time as it did for our first baby which ended with a m/c. It took about 5 years to conceive that one, then another 2 years to conceive ds. we both are not smoking this time so i'm sure that will make a huge difference. (i can't even believe we used to smoke ciggaretes, its so disgusting ).

The difference for us this time around is that i'm taking Zoloft for my anxiety issues and hoping it doesn't have any sort of affect on this baby :( My dr assures me that it will be ok, but no one is ever 100% sure.

so its been a while since i have been in the ttc threads, it looks different to last time i was in here :) any suggestions on threads to join?

Implantation cramps but neg HPT

Hi guys,

Just wanted some thoughts from you guys if possible.
we are TTC and BD many times around ovulation this cycle.
About 7 days after ovulation I felt twinges and slight cramping and have continued to feel the cramps since. Now I feel Ovulation pain every cycle which usually lasts for about 3 days. So i assumed if we were successful i would feel implanatation pain but i have done 4 hpt since and all have been negative.
my AF is due tomorrow so i would've thought if I was successful it would be showing up positive on a HPT by now.
anyway thats fine but im wondering what the cause of the cramps were. (i never get cramping unless its AF or O) Im worried i may have some cysts or something. Or perhaps I just read too much into things!!
anyone else have cramping during the TWW and think you are pregnant then find out you aren't?
:(:(:(

I am currently 12 DPO. And I've just got this little voice in my head telling me I'm pregnant. I don't get a BFP (even the super sensitive HPT's dont pick it up til then) until 14 DPO so still two long days to wait until I find out whether I'm intuitive or slightly insane

Ovulation Spotting

Hi guys! as the title suggests i am kinda after advice/experiences with ovulation spotting...

the last 2 cycles i have experienced spotting around the time of O. last cycle is was really minimal and (TMI coming up lol) brown 'old' looking spots.

then last night, i went to the bathroom just before i headed to bed and when i wiped there was quite a significant streak of bright red blood. in my horror (yes, i was being dramatic...i was really tired LOL) i wiped again, and again there was quite a bit of red blood. but that was it. nothing on the panty liner overnight and nothing at all today...

sooo, i guess my question is...could this be O spotting, and if yes, can it take all forms (like from brown/pink to red)? Or is it potentially something more sinister? we have been TTC now for close to 9 months (i have history of LTTC and endo, ITH)...

TIA guys :)

Hello ladies
i need to share and get some advice on this one...maybe someone experience what i am right now..DH and I are trying, its our first month.. my cycles are 35 days. My last period came Oct 12th and I started taking OPK Oct 31st took it for a week and never showed me a positive we didnt let that get on the way..so I did my calculations and I was supposed to O between Oct 31st and beginning of November. Yesterday I was supposed to get my period and I didnt, this morning I did EPT and it came out negative :( what is going on?:o Is it too early to test or what? It says results as early as 5 days. Hope is that:pray: Usually 4-5 days before I get my period I get sore boobs and cramps, break out and just know that Im gonna get my period but now no symptoms at all not even sore boobs, just a few pimples.. I thought I had pregnancy symptoms, I been gassy:redface: all week, stuffy nose and from time to time easily irritated, one day I cried outta nowhere!:o I am not a gassy person at all lol and i am usually pretty chill person..soo i dont know what to do now.. I think i should wait like 3 days and test again and if its negative go to the Doc..Also I am thinking maybe I ovulated late and have to wait a bit longer and take a test...idk? Maybe go to the doc and take a pregnancy test? I am going outta my mind! In the week of Nov 20th I traveled from the west coast to the east coast and stayed there for couple of days..maybe thats causing late period or no O? :o or maybe I ovulated while I was there..? I am also taking prental vitamins the cvs brand..but i don't think that should be a problem:o Any ideas or suggestions? I will appreciate your responses!!!

My husband and I have been TTC #1 since April and I am interested in seeking a natural therapist opinion before looking into assisted reproductive options (recommended as the next option as I'm 35 and have been trying for 8 months now).

I would love to hear success stories from those who have sought help from a naturopath and/or acupuncturist, particulary in Melbourne. There are so many clinics out there that any recommendations would be appreciated. At the moment I am looking at a clinic in Ashburton called Resonance - anyone had any experience (good or bad) with them?

Thanks for your help.

So, as I've been gloating for pretty much forever, we're going to Japan after Christmas for three weeks. Yay. As some also know, I've had a molar pregnancy this year and have had to wait to start TTC again. My next blood test is in early December. It's officially my second last, but as I'll be in Japan for the day I should have the last one, the clinic are happy for me to blow it off.
SO... with those dates, and my cycle where it is, we could start TTC now, and the next blood test would be right on O time, or a little bit after, i.e. would come up clear even if I got pg first go.
BUT would mean being early pg in Japan. No biggie really, with the possible exception of hot baths, and maybe a bit of m/s while we're there. Raw fish not such an issue as I'm veg anyway.

We have already waited so long. Part of me is really keen to get TTC again this cycle. The other part of me is so excited about Japan and would love to just enjoy it without limitations. (and maybe bring back a souvenir!)

The options:
a) start TTC now, full-on
b) hold off now, and go full-on when in Japan
c) not think about it in the slightest and take it as it comes.

What do you folk reckon?

Hi All,

I am booked in to see a gynacologist for the first time next week due to just having been diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus.
I was just wondering what should I expect on my first visit which I know will be a consultation, I know this may all seem silly but it is all new to me and it will be a male gynacologist as the female ones are booked out forever... So I was just wondering what to expect will the gynacologist do any examinations etc on the first visit?

Your feedback is apprecaited.
Thanks...

He is over weight, so he doesn't have health on his side, although we are BOTH working on this now.

Talk to you soon.

Hi guys,
Ok so my boobs are really killing me, even when I walk fast or drive over a speed bump they hurt!!
My AF is very irregular, sometimes it is around 31 days, then 43 and last month it was 40 days. Today I am 34 days and my boobs have been sore for over a week now. I do normally get slightly tender breasts at that time of month but these seems much worse.
I am going crazy wondering if this could be something or not! I don't really want to take a test just yet because in the past my AF had ended up showing her ugly face!
Has anyone else had sore breasts like this and ended up being pregnant?

However this morning I have woken up with HUGE boobies (well huge for me anyway lol) and they are tingling like mad. I am also still very tired. My blood test however came back negative. I am just worried about the chances of an ectopic pregnancy, due to my history. Has anyone ever had a blood test that was wrong???? DH & I are of the understanding that blood tests are always accurate. Then there is the worry of it being an ectopic that isnt showing. SO OVER THIS!! Any info appreciated.

SO DH and I have decided that we will be TTC a brother / sister for Bella early to mid next year (). I will be going off the pill in feb / march next year and then giving my body some time to get back into a natural cycle.

I am going to try and loose some weight and get into an exercise routine to get some health and fittness going.

Are there any other hints and tips that I can start doing now to get myself into tip top shape both physically and mentally to help improve my chances of concieveing??

Any advice would be awesome!

So, I was on a 2 week wait, supposed to end around Wednesday coming up. Those in the 2WW thread know that I bled a bit on Saturday, so understandably I figured that that was the end of my 2WW.

For the last 3 days I've felt slightly nauseous, with brief periods of dizziness - and have had the runs  TMI I know. But DH hasn't had any problem, and for the last week we've both eaten the same things.

Could I possibly have misinterpreted the bleed? Please don't tell me to just test and find out - I can't take a BFN at the moment. If you think its not, please be honest!!

Hi Ladies,

Just having a little vent...... I took a HPT a two days ago.I took the test then took a phone call... It was about 8 mins or so, then I raced back to the bathroom and I saw two lines. The second line was definitely there...

I didn't know exactly when the second line appeared, so I didn't want to get my hopes up (incase it was an evaporation line) I work for a medical supplier, and I can buy pregnancy tests off my work that the doctors use at the GP's.

I must admit, I let myself think I could actually be pregnant.

I took another test this morning to see if the line had gotten any darker, and it was gone. no line.

I knew in the back of my mind that this could be the case and I was never pregnant, but I'm still disappointed.

:(

Just wanted to get my thoughts out.

Hi Ladies, I hope you can answer my questions!

On the 7th of november (around 5-6 DPO), when i went to the bathroom i noticed There was blood on my underwear, about the size of a ten cent peice, dark in colour, and then on the 11th nov, i noticed three tiny little spots on my underwear. Period is not due till 17th.
this has NEVER happened before.
Does this sound like implantation bleeding just to stop then come back with a little later? or something else? It is possible i could be pregnant sine i used withdrawal method nearly every day when i was ov'ing aswell.

If AF doesnt show up on time, ill go to doctors too make sure nothings wrong, or somethings right!

irregular cycle

Hi all!
I've been starting to thnk about this alot the last month or so and figured what better way to start than post it on here..
Basically I stopped taking the contraception pill in May 07, which is about 19 months ago, and i'm still not regular...(I had been on the pill for about 8 or 9 years with maybe a year gap in the middle), my cycle has been up to day 41 averages about 35-40 and i've had maybe 2 cycles at 28 days that whole time, the last one which was at day 28 was the most pain I have ever experienced in my life (prob my uterus contracting...things to look forward to in childbirth =P ) the bleeds are all the same consistancy, i guess the only differecne is it is random when it comes and random ones will really knock me out but others i wont even notice...
Is this normal? like does the fact its irregular really matter?
I was hoping to chat to my dr about this when i got my papsmear last mth, but my regular female dr (who i have been seeing all my life) is away sick with rumous of cancer, so no one knows when she is coming back if she is at all, and the nurse who did my papsmear said she doesn't do pelvic exams or anything and that was that...so another dilema is finding another female dr i can chat to..
other thing is basically not that we are TTC its just that we are not doing anything to stop it...and we DTD alot (hehe) so the fact nothing has 'accidently' happened yet makes me a little concerned.
should i be concerned?
oh an i am currently day 35 with a BFN...a few times in the last week i'm like...oh yea im going to get my period tomorrow i can feel it...and nothing!
I think I will deff. go get myself checked out properly after the wedding, when we will be actually TTC, but should i just keep on going like I have?
Thanks for any advice or comments or anything people!!!

I wasnt going to make any of this public yet, but I am going outta my mind here. DH & I have been trying for another baby and this month after ovulation I had cramping like with my other pregnancies, and I was extremely tired, I also had a couple of days of nausea. I did a test last Sat & I could see an incredibly faint positive, but over the next few days I did two further tests that showed very clear negatives. I dont feel pregnant anymore either. Yet the fact that my period is so late, when I am always regular, is a bit strange. Has anyone experienced this? I really dont know what to think, we are trying not to get our hopes up yet. However I am off the Dr this arvo to see what she has to say, but just trying to find out some info before I go. Thanks in advance.

PS keep this hush hush on FB

So my biggest concern is sex during the 2WW. Is it true that is bad to FD during that period of time?? Also I read that cleaning, like vacuuming is bad? My schedule is pretty easy and I am home most of the time and try to relax as much as possible...
So pleaseee tell me what your opinion is, I will appreciate it! :)

Pregnyl and ovulation advise please

Hi there

Mods please move if in wrong area.....

Just wanting to know if anyone has had experiences with pregnyl and ovulation? I had the pregnyl injection last Monday after a scan revealed 1 big follicle on my left ovary and 4 littler ones on my right (Clomid induced). The nurse who gave me the injection said that I would ovulate in two days making O day the Wednesday (5 days ago) but I didnt have any signs or symptoms of ovulation at all. I get alot of sharp pain when I ovulate and can almost tell you when it exactly happens but I had none of this.

Is it possible I didnt ovulate or did I ovulate with the injection but maybe just didnt feel it? Will you most definatley ovulate with the pregnyl?

I have since felt so different - lost of pains like ovulation in both ovaries (like I am going to ovulate at any minute) and a heavy feeling - almost like the first stages of pg! - is this normal?

TIA

If you look at my chart you will see that i got a positive opk on cd18, and df and i dtd on the morning of cd19.
According to ff, going by my temperatures i ovulated on cd18, but if i change the diagnostics to opk it says i ovulated on cd19.
I dont really know which one to go by, and im scared that either way df and i may have missed the egg :(
Just looking for your opinions and assurance.

I'm sorry - I've no idea where to post this. It doesn't really fit with BF, doesn't really fit with baby so I figured I'd ask the women who are in tune with their cycles the most - the women TTC! I hope this is ok - plz feel free to move if necessary.

I had my son just over a year ago and have been breastfeeding him since birth, although comp feeding him with formula since approx 3 weeks of age. I have not yet had my period - I'm told breastfeeding can stop it. However, I've been getting the worst period pain (like when I fell pregnant with DS) the last few days and still no period. I haven't BDed with hubby (unprotected) since september byt I had this cramping at 4 weeks last time. I'd eight weeks if I was pregnant.

I don't think I am pregnant, but I'm not sure if the cramping is indicative of a problem? It's just like period pain (and so bad periodically I want to lie down - exactly like when I fell pregnant). Can you cramp without getting your period??? It's been nearly 2 years since my last one and I can hardly remember what it was like haha!!

Help??

a) get the H1N1 vaccination now while unpregnant
b) wait until I am definately preggers , or
c) not get vaccination at all

I have hardly ever had the regular flu (touch wood) and not entirely comfortable with the thought of getting vaccinations whilst pregnant. So the reccommendation from Health Department that pregnant women get vaccinated has left me indecisive! Interested in finding out what anyone else thinks about this topic.

Using the Shettles method

Hi there,

DH and I have just started TTC # 2 and thought we'd try the Shettles method. I'm not due for AF until next Tuesday but have done 2 tests both :bfn: so I'm thinking no luck this month. We thought we'd give it one more month using the Shettles method (DTD 3-4 days before ovulation) and still if no luck then DTD right on ovulation, but I was wondering if anyone else has used the method and how long it took to conceive?

Goodluck to everyone :ttc: !!

Cheers, Bec

Hi There,

Does anyone have any experience in cutting out Caffeine all together to achieve pregnancy? Or any information on what Caffeine can do to inhibit pregnancy?

I have read bits and pieces about it, bu would like to know how you ladies dealt with it?

TWW - hmmmm What to do..

According to OPK's and temps I have just O'd, so I'm now in the TWW.

What to do, what to do.

When you have a deadline, two weeks is never long enough, but when you're going through the TWW, it seems like an eternity.

I'm trying to be positive (even though I had an emotional slip up last night including tears and the whole works )

I've got my fingers crossed, toes crossed (and legs crossed) just to make sure it all happens.

If not, there's always next month :)

Not really a question, just a little 'vent'...

Good luck to all the women going through their TWW...

May we ALL be blessed with bebes

Has anyone ever had a CVS or amniocentesis test performed?

HI Ladies,

I am just curious to find out how many of you have had CVS or amniocentesis tests done?

My DP has an inherited genetic disorder that can cause horrible genetic mutations which both his brother and sister passed away from in early infancy.

I am already 'fertility challenged' and to be honest really frightened of going through with this kind of testing...

In my situation, it will be necessary to undergo this test as in some cases, should I become pregnant, there may be a situation where the baby will be 'incompatiable with life' (doctors terminology.) In these circumstances the baby will not live more than a few weeks and those few weeks will be filled with pain and misery for him or her.

My head is in a bit of a daze actually, I just want to hear your stories, and know how you handled this sort of situation.
