Hi :)

As the title suggests i am really struggling to find names for bub number 2. (i haven't even gotten to middle names! and time is ticking!)
I have a few names that i like but nothing that i 'love'. My problem is that i mainly like names that end in 'y' but my sons name is Riley, so i need something that goes well with that and i don't really want to have two names that end in 'y'. So i've tried to come up with some other names.
here is my list so far:

Boys:
Samuel
Oscar
Angus
Joshua
Jack
Harry

Girls:
Amelia
Lila
Evelyn
Cate
Jade
Audrey
Sierra

So i need your help, i know i'm asking alot but please give me your honest thoughts and opinions - i'm also open to any suggestions!

Hi All

Well DH and I have agreed on a girls name and that was pretty simple. But I am really struggling to find a boys name that we can agree on.

My DS is Isaac and 2 DSS are Jacob and Jeremiah (very biblical I know), my DH likes Luke for a boy however I have a friend who I see weekly for play dates with a son named Luke so I feel a little bit funny about using the name. I like Tayleb but this seems to be a bit out there for DH. My Mum has also suggested Aaron but DH seems to be set on Luke.

So my question is do you think it is ok to use the name of a friends child?? (I have asked her and she said she doesn't mind, but really i can't see her saying "NO, I have exclusive rights to that name" LOL). Or another option is to go with Lukas (german spelling) and we can shorten it when we choose to, that way it's a similar yet different name?

Please help :wall:

OK, this is really weird.

My DH and I could agree on a boys name, at about 9 weeks in. (We both just love a particular name). The girls name has taken quite some time to work out.

We've just agreed on the name: Darcey (or Darcie), not sure on the spelling yet.
I told my Mum and Dad, who thought it was lovely...but then Mum remembered that my cousins dog, which is a boy, is called Darcy. We've never seen this dog, never been to their house - they live in a remote location interstate that we'll most likely never visit. The dog is at least 8 years old.

What to do????

My DH has also picked the middle name, which he loves, so it would be Darcey Catherine if a girl.
Any thoughts?

Okay so it's not confirmed yet but we're pretty sure Number 3 is another little girl.

DH and I choose names fairly instinctively, we throw names around until we get the one that "feels" right. This has been quite an interesting method because we have wound up with names that we love but would never have thought that we would have chosen. DH tends to be more picky and conservative than me but we always give each other "right of veto" over the other's suggestions...if we don't both love the name then it's not the name.

So we have chosen our name for our potential DD2 - Chloe. But DD1's name is Sophie.

I am surprised at how much I like Chloe (and Sophie for that matter) - but they just feel perfect.

Do you think Sophie and Chloe sound a bit too....rhyming? Kinda like Ben and Ken, Trista and Krista sort of thing??

Hi!

So I have had these 2 names for our little girl the entire time. DH is giving me the naming rights for this one as he wants to name any boy we have after his father as the family is quite traditional.

So they are..Saffron and Violet Our last name is Frederikos

Saffron is a name of one of my friends and I have loved it for years and I have strawberry blonde hair and so does my friend...It just clicks a bit for me and I have been saying for years that this is the name of my future child lol..

Lately I have been really close with my Grandma and as my mum isnt in my life and I really like my grandmas name I think it would be an honour to name our girl Violet after her..She is 86 and a really good soul kwim?

Im happy to call her either with the other name as the middle name but which do you prefer? What sounds nicer to you? Should I wait and base it on her hair colour? I know it can change so dont know how safe that is...

Any suggestions would be great, as I said I just love both names and I cant imagine not using either of them.

Thanks!

ok, so im certainly NOT pregnant :D
but we had my MIL and FIL over last night for dinner, and MIL straight out asked me if we were going to go back for more (babies) that is.
i said that once Oscar is about 18mths old we will try for a second. We then got onto the topic of names i told her we already have 2 boys name picked out and as for girls we have a small list to choose from, she then went on to ask (she pretty much told me) if we were going to put her name somewhere in there, i straight out said no (politely) of course she looked horrified. i then went on to say that Oscar has been slightly named after her as Slaide is MIL maiden name apparently thats not enough!
she then did the whole silent treatment on me, i explained that not even my mums name will put incorparated into DD to be's name.
so my point of this story/rant is, to ask you ladies did you name ALL your children after parents/in laws/ grandparents etc...?
she made me feel really horrible, and im NOT even pregnant haha.

she then sat there and nit picked at our names of choice- i was this (-------------------) close to screaming and reminding her they are OUR children!

Boys- we have chosen will be

Archie Samuel
Cruz Timothy

Girls- we have chosen

Asia Madison
Marlowe Heidy
Electra Sage
Brynn Eaden
Taitym Storm

are they THAT horrible?

ok, so im certainly NOT pregnant :D
but we had my MIL and FIL over last night for dinner, and MIL straight out asked me if we were going to go back for more (babies) that is.
i said that once Oscar is about 18mths old we will try for a second.

We recently found out we were having a boy! YAY! Now we have to decide on a name, not so YAY!

The three we like so far are:
Blake (my maiden name)
Connor
Cooper

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I have absolutely no idea how we are going to decide!

Hi Everyone :hello:

DH and I are having trouble getting more options for names....our bub is due in January and we really only have 2 front runners (one boy name and one girl name), which I know you really only need to have one but as I am fairly indecisive at the best of times I feel I need more options!

Our girls name is Charlotte, we both love the name and an added bonus is that it's MIL's middle name (who I love)...the only downside is that I think it's one of the most popular names...

The boys name is Henry, DH has had his heart set on this for ages and it started with a flat no from me as I thought it was old fashioned but it's really grown on me of late. But I have a habit of shortening everything and you can't really shorten this...'Hen'? perhaps not...though with only 2 sylables maybe you don't need to shorten it?

This has been doing my pregnancy-head in!

The kind of names that we both tend to like are names that when you say them everyone knows how to spell them, names have been around for donkey's years and names that are not too uncommon...I know that these are probably some people's 'reasons not to pick a name' but each to their own I guess.

So my question is....
When it comes to Charlotte - Is it really a bad thing to use the most (or one of) the most popular names? I can see the good and bad but would like other people opinions..

When it comes to Henry - Is this name a winner?

Does anyone else have any other names that fit with the kind we like?

Thanks everyone, hopefully my waffle hasn't gone on too long! :)
