HELP!

Hi everyone,

I am in need of some advice or even a place to start!

I have 10 weeks until I am due to start my maternity leave.

Last week the director of the company (A small one... there is only 5 of us) announced he was leaving his fiance and children for one of our employees. His finace is a part owner, as is his parents. Then today he announces he is staying with his finace, and dumps the employee. Right now my receptionist and I are the only people in the office and working, and it is looking like the employee he had the affair with will leave, as well as another staff member.

I am so stressed and worried, getting stomach pains and feeling so sick because of all of this.

My question is this;

Am I entitled to anything at all if I stop work now? I dont want to risk my baby when I am this stressed and upset every day???

I had made a verbal agreement with the Boss to have my holiday leave paid out over 6 months while I was on leave, and if I leave now it will be paid out in full, leaving me with nothing when the baby arrives AND I lose the 10 weeks paid employment I was relying on!

Is there anyone I can contact to ask if I am entitled to a payout or compensation for losing my maternity leave, because I am pretty certain the business will fold now as only the director, receptionist and myself still have jobs!

Applying for a job during pregnancy

Hi,

I am due at the end of Feb '10 and have been looking for a job for a few months. Recently, I've been feeling that it's necessary to disclose my pregnancy to potential employers- but whenever I do, I don't get the job! My intention is to work until the end, and return to work as soon as possible after the baby. What is the standard expectation in this regard? Must I tell? Would I be looked at as dishonest if I don't? Would really appreciate some advice. I have a second interview next week for a part-time position and I don't want to lose the opportunity!

Thanks so much!
