Default TTC on Clomid with Pcos and lookin for advice

Hi. Its my first post and i gotta admit im nervous lol... so thanking u all 4 ur patience in advance
(ok some background info) we r ttc, (have been with no luck for 2 yrs) i have recently been taken OFF metformin and put ONTO Clomid 50mgs.. This is my second cycle days 5-9.
im from SMALL country town n we have a visiting gyno come up once a month..who i saw after a 7 month wait, i was in his office for ALL of 5 mins.. he gave me a script for clomid and said see you in 3 months IF it doesnt work.. if u have any questions try the internet, or ur Gp (who when i went and asked Gp about Clomid turned on her PC and GOOGLED clomid ) ]what i wanted to ask is, is it "normal" to NOT be monitored at all? To just be given the script and then left to see if it works? My cuz had Pcos and was on clomid for (all together 2 years spread over time) and she had blood tests etc regularly... My local Gp told me buy the OPK kits BUT as i was leaving she said they dont always work for women with pcos and so i should just "bd" every 2nd/3rd day from day 10-20 and hope for the best???

Firstly to belly belly. This site has the most amazing women and men who are so knowledgeable in so so many aspects of life.

Now to your question... I would ask your GP to do a progesterone blood test on cycle day 21-23 to check to see if you have actually ovulated. This is the test that my Gyno does for me. I took 50mg clomid and metformin for 6 cycles when I was ttc my DS. I'm now ttc bub #2 and am about to start clomid again on days 5-9 too.
I'd be a bit cautious to googling too much info.

Good luck with your ttc journey. Hopefully it won't be too long before you are holding your own precious bundle of joy
