This forum is for doula/birth educator recommendations and feedback, and IS NOT a place for plugging your services (there is a trainee doula thread where you can post). Women do not need to be bombarded with offers of doula'ing etc when looking for feedback here. This forum is for women to get genuine and honest feedback, suggestions and recommendations of doulas from other mothers and fathers - heck even doulas as long as they are not plugging themselves and or sneaking in contact information in their posts, like email addresses etc.

I also ask women to be wary (like in all areas of the forums) new users who have just 1 post, who have clearly come in with an intention to plug and nothing else, who knows, they could be that person or some other set-up. The doula industry is NOT regulated in anyway, there are good and bad like anything, plugging your services does nothing for the poster like feedback from people who have used the doula. This plugging commonly happens in the doula forums and it will no longer be tolerated. Yes there are free doula listing sites out there, feel free to use those, listing on BB is not free, however we are one of the biggest parenting websites in Australia and have far more exposure than the freebie sites, we have a huge forum currently close to 15,000 consumers, we spend lots of money advertising the site and have a pregnancy centre which also gives BB exposure - that is what you are paying for.

I am sympathetic to the doula movement, all the regulars know how much and more I have done for it and then thats only half what you see, but rules must be respected by all. Anyone wanting to grow their business must do so ethically and fairly.
