Default home V hospital

yeah, i know that homebirth is not for everyone but that jsut makes me more determined to make sure that EVERY woman who births, regardless of where, is informed of her choices, has those choices respected, and supported. And makes me passionate to share what I know about birth and how one thing can lead to another (not just in birth itself but in relation to conception and pregnancy too for example, a deficiency of zinc can cause prem labour and in fact a nice high dose of it can often stop early contractions)

As well as obviously to offer my practical advice for everything from relieving back pain in pregnancy to ideas for toilet training your toddler.

basically i am just really passionate about women, birth, babies, and parenthood

hi edaj84 - you must be so excited now to do some births. Join the club! Even though i'm a qualified advanced doula with a number of years of experience and have offered to do some free births over the next month or two at Latrobe regional hos' I've not had one call-out yet which is very disheartening.

Hey Midwifemum - Have heard some really encouraging things about you ladies there in Warragul. I'm also doing some active birth workshops. I'm try to promote my workshop on the 18th 19th and 20th Sep here at the Neighbourhood house in Traralgon.
Keep up the good work and I'm sure we'll be able to empower more moms...

Hey Stacey, thanks for your time to other day. Hope you received the web address on the sites that could help you guys. Love to you all.

Hey there...

$120.00 p/mom
Fri night
Whole day Sat
Sun afternoon

Send me your mobile number and maybe you can pop in over lunch time to come say "hi".

Now you know why I've been so busy - trying to organise everything...
I'm also offering a chance for 2 moms who attend the opportunity to some free doula care - hopefully we'll be able to get the ball rolling

Default Student

Dotty,

I am Jade Farmer, and am from Thorpdale.
I am still a student so I am doing free births at the moment.
my email is jatz84@hotmail.com

feel free to contact me
Jade

PS: to anyone considering using Gill, if you feel that you would like some extra support, with her permission I would be very excited to also attend you. This would be wonderful for me to get some mentoring and great for you to have 2 of us for the price of one

Default Preparing for Birth Workshop

Hi there,
I am running a normal birth workshop on Sat 24th October in Drouin if there are any Warragul/ Drouin/ Traralgon/ Moe/ Pakenham/Anyone! pregnant people keen to maximise there chances of having a normal hospital birth. I work at the Warragul hospital in the birthing suites and I know how and why hospital births can sometimes go pear shaped. The class runs from 10 AM to 3PM, includes lunch and costs $80.00 per couple, $20.00 for an extra support person. Plan for a 'Calm and Confident' birth. Just email me on francesj@dcsi.net.au if you would like some more info or want to register for the workshop. Thanks Frances.

Default Help first bub

Hi
Im new to the forum and I am looking for a doula, Im in Hazelwood North and 19 weeks preg with my first. Quietly having major panic attacks about the whole thing really, I have a huge fear of needles and the thought to epidural makes me go hot and sweat never mind thinking about any complications that may occure or result in a c section, its horrible I have trouble getting through a simple blood test. Can anyone recommend a doula that might be able to handle a panic stricken person.

Default Normal Birth Workshop

Hi Kuge,
I will be running a birth workshop/class in December depending on numbers. The class is aimed at reducing the fear of birth and giving you some great skills so you don't go down the intervention/epidural pathway. The classes are held in Drouin. If you want some more info just email me : francesj@dcsi.net.au Thanks.
