Laws regarding overseas sperm.

Hello,

Im really confused now. One clinic tells me they aren't going to be able to use donor sperm in NSW from overseas from the 1st of January 2010. And the other clinic says they don't know about it.

I tried going to the donor support site, but that site is sooooo out dated that its not funny!! Why would anyone join that group when its not even up-to-date.

Can someone clear up this confusion. I found a clinic that has no waiting lists for sperm donors but they use overseas sperm as well as local sperm. I don't want to try for a baby using overseas sperm then have it cancelled because of new laws.

Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill 2007 - NSW Parliament

The new legislation enforces the use of a donor register and identification of donors once the DC offspring turn 18. This means the overseas clinic must meet NSW standards and comply with NSW legislation, but other than that I do not recall anything specific banning importing sperm.
