Default Nutritionist for weight loss

Hi

Has anyone seen a nutritionist in regard to weight loss? Iv been trying to lose weight for awhile now and its just not happening, no matter how much exercise i do it just wont shift. I keep thinking i will do a shake diet and it will come off but i know that wont happen and even when i do lose weight i will just put it back on when i finish.

I think i eat healthy but obviously i dont and so i think i need to learn about what i am doing wrong as quite frankly im getting quite depressed about it and dont even want to go to the gym as i just feel like its a complete waste of time.

Has anyone seen a nutritionist in regards to weight loss? What did you think? Was it worth it in your opinion or can i get just as much out of a book etc? What did they do with you? How many visits did you need to have? How much did it cost?

Thanks for any opinions and replies!

I saw a dietician for weight loss, I found it really helpful. In WA if you are over a certain BMI, you can get referred to a dietician through your GP and you are eligible to claim some of the cost back through medicare, not sure if it is the same in every state, but might be worth finding out about.

I haven't but that is because my personal trainer is able to give me all the info i need at the moment. I train with him twice a week and we discuss foods etc. I keep a food diary and he tells me how I'm doing. I can see now the kind of choices I need to make etc. Plus I train with him obviously. I've been seeing him since March and have only lost 7Kg (had lost 8 but put 1 back on) due to numerous injuries including one that put me "on the bench" for a period of time. We had to switch gears from weight loss to rehab otherwise I'd have lost a lot more by now.

I'm seeing a dietician (is that the same thing??? ) on Monday. She is going to help me plan our family meals better and help me tone up, help with snacks and choices and FOOD PROTIONS - biggy for me.

So can't really answer your question, I'm going to find out for myself.
