Hey guys, I am feeling heaps better after my swim. I did 20 exercise laps, and 10 therapy laps. Thought of you guys It was set off by a girl at work telling me about her scan yesterday. I'd coped pretty well, but the word "heartbeat" rocketed beyond the threshold of just how much detail I could handle.

Krys- I am IN! That will fit perfectly with Japan trip.

I forgot to mention - I weighed in this morning and got a 500g loss!

Stupid jeweller who is fixing my wedding rings after my bike stack *still* not finished after two weeks. So now I can't pick up my rings, I am going to walk down to the library instead. It's a 4 or 5km round trip, so that should finish off the day nicely.

krys- 12 weeks OMG!!! that is kinda scarey, i would really love to lose 6kgs in that time.

snuggs- glad to hear you're doing a little better. that walk will do you the world of good.

nai- you seem skinny to me! LOL....i think you're right- my first goal is to get under 70kgs and then i'll just go from there.

i'm having a real 'fat' day today- i just feel so tired and crap. i've got my ds's 2nd birthday party here this weekend so i'm stressed out and there's lots of junk food around too which isn't helping things....

Krys YAY I'm in! is it anonther official BB 12 week challenge or our own thread 12 week challenge?...
My stupid ticker hasnt' been moving anyway it just looks pretty! whilst I'd like to loose 1kg a week I might try for a more achievable 1/2 kg a week so let's say 7kg by christmas

Belfie
61's!!! "You go girl" super dooper jealous over here!

Mr.Squid thanks

Ginger, theres still heaps of time to make some more healthy treats for the party

Nai, you've reminded me that I have swimming to look forward to this summer... I'm gonna try go once a week to the pool and do laps and also get to the beach to swim and get a tan to compliment my fab new body

Snugbug I remember locking myself in the loo at a job interview!!!! Was soooo embarresed I did end up getting the job though lol

Bekz tomorrow's a new day hon, dont' be too hard on yourself, with all of my ups and downs on the scales I keep thinking of how much more weight I would have put on if I'd just given up trying so that makes me happy again and keep sme going.

I am about ready to rip it off! Only two more days. The foot feels good. Don't think I will be up for soccer this week (so disappointing as futsal starts on Monday) but can imagine I will be up for a bike ride. Or maybe I should try swimming if DH and DS feel like going. Might be good to build up some different muscles. Thanks for asking

I know those days too well. And readily available junk food is always hard. But getting healthy is a lifestyle change. Having a piece of cake or a lollie here and there can be ok. Losing weight successfully is less about sticking rigidly for a short time and more about having a realistic lifestyle change you can live with. You can do it!

I can't imagine how hard it must be to deal with that. Big hugs. I am glad the swimming has helped. and woo hoo you are in for the challenge!

Yay!!! I think we just do our own challenge. I was thinking we could all weigh and take cms from chest, tummy (across belly button) and hips and then we could post our own losses each week. Or one of us (I am happy to do) could post the losses so all would go in one post for each week. I think it is good to post % weight lost in one week plus total % lost over the challenge. So we would kind of post cms lost: 4cm (total of all three areas), weekly % lost: 1%, total % lost: 5% or something of the sort.

I didn't really want to start a whole new thread as this one is so good and it is easiest just to come to one? Thoughts?

I'm in! I've never done the 12 week challenge before (it seems like such a long time!), but I check-in on Fridays/Saturdays anyway...

I didn't get out for my walk yesterday, I decided that I just wasn't over the flare enough... sure enough, I was wiped by dinner time anyway. Feeling heaps better today, but Sam's having a shocker... Just threw him in the pram and went for a 40 minute walk around the local streets... no idea how far I walked, but pushing the pram up hills and stuff adds a bit more, I think. Right knee starting to get dodgy by the end of things, so I don't think I'll be walking much further than that in a hurry.

Snugglybean... It's amazing the things that can set you off. I'd thought I'd just got over my first miscarriage when it was dumped on me in a crowded staffroom that another colleague was pregnant and due at the same time I was... Anyway, to lighten the mood a little, just what are you planning to send me when I start complaining it's too hot to walk? Actually, when it gets like that I'm just as likely to go to a local shopping centre and do my 30-40 minute walk with the pram in air-conditioned comfort, and hopefully tackle some of the Christmas shopping at the same time.

Wooohoo Krys, yeah I think everyone should just post their results each week... I will post weight loss each week but cm's every 4 weeks so that I can see big changes rather than the small ones plus I never know if I'm measuring correctly

Actually, with the way my knees have pulled up this evening, I'm thinking the flat surfaces in shopping centres are a better option to walk on that uneven roads and dodgy footpaths around here.

So, I kicked off with a piece of orange-poppyseed cake. whoops. Fortunately I ate a smaller than normal breakfast today, so it might balance out. And definitely going to yoga tonight.

So, my 12wk challenge plan:
- continue to ride 150km per week (this is my daily commute, so no big deal)
- do a big ride every weekend wth DH - 50km+
- get up early and swim 2km every Tuesday morning (may try for Fridays too) Swimming just makes me feel so good!
- yoga every Wednesday evening
- Walk with DH once a week for at least an hour. This is for our relationship as much as for exercise.

I've been thinking about adding skipping somewhere. Maybe towards the end.

So, that's the exercise half. The food half:
- having two water bottles at my desk to help me drink more.
- if I'm going to watch TV, I have to have my knitting bag with me. This will help me to not mindlessly snack.
- 1 x green tea every day, even if I have to hide it from my co-workers (they drink it all)
- my meal will always be two-thirds the size of DH's.
- before having a second serve, I need to drink at least 400mL of water.
- morning snack of fruit and dried fruit (for iron)

My goal: to lose 4kg. This will be hard-going, as I have already lost 22kg, and my body is already used to every sort of exercise I do. Also, I am now in a healthy weight range, I just want to get rid of some wobbly bits.
My reward: New ski pants!
Mid-challenge rewards:
Loss at 2 weeks - DH takes me out somewhere in a fabulous size 10 dress
Loss at 4 weeks - trip to my favourite opshop of all time, Salvos at Abbotsford in Melbs
Loss at 6 weeks - pedicure
Loss at 8 weeks - trip down the coast to show off hot bikini body
Loss at 10 weeks - champagne (will roughly coincide with my last blood test and family Christmas in Sydney. Will wear fabulous "new" size 10 Christmas dress and blow all the family away)
Loss at 12 weeks - NEW SKI PANTS - Depart for Japan - Yahoo!

Does everyone else want to set up their plan in this format? Might be quite good.
