Default A question on trying for a boy

Hi girls,

Im new to this site and have a few questions regarding trying to conceive a boy I hope someone can help me. I have a little girl and i have no problem what the next one is but my partner longs for a boy.

My last MP was the 31/05/09 and my cycle is 29 days, we had nookie (sorry unsure of the Acronyms you guys use) i think on the 12th June, the 14th June ovulated on the 15th June then had nookie on the 17th and 18th June. my question is
to have a girl the experts say to have sex 3-4 days before ovulation then abstain but what if you keep having nookie 24 hours before you ovulate? does that mean the girls are there waiting for the egg but then the boy sperm comes in and what happens? what are my chances of having either sex? anyone know?

sorry about my immature languge ive tried to find a few websites on this question to no avail.
Thanks guys, if anyone has any ideas I would so appreciate some feedback.

gender swaying when you BF and AF has not returned yet, any advise?
We would love a girl next time, and its likely we wont ttc again after a third, so really trying to get my head round all this stuff I need to learn for a ttc DD.

I guess the best we can do for now is I can make changes to my diet to try increase calcium and mag. Cut salt and sugar.I might buy some ph strips too...
any other suggestions?

We are not ttc again yet but we are not taking precautions either.

I'm a bit lost - can you gender swayers help me? What are the basics I need to know to try for a girl? Who has tried for a girl and got one? I'd love to hear what has worked for people.

Thanks so much Tanya. I wasn't quite sure where to start. I'm sure I'll be back to clarify things I've learned.

Default Hi all

Hey all my name is Sharney and I am trying for a baby girl. I have two gorgeous sons already but I have longed for a daughter all along.

I have been reading up on gender influencing and Im a little bit confused, I have had some places tell me high PH level is required for a girl then others tell me low PH is required , so I am lost anyone that can answer that for me?

I am ready to do just about anything to get that baby girl of my dreams. And as for the diets I have a great feeling that these are pretty good ( I hate the look of the girl diet, definately not what Id normally eat, hence I have two boys) but Im going to give anything a try!

thanks everyone xox

Talking Hot drinks

Thanks!

Just another silly question, but just reading through the girl diet, it says you shouldnt have coffee and tea. Also that you cant have chocolate (so is it safe to assume no 'hot' chocolate also?)

So does anyone know if there are any hot drinks I can actually have while TTC a girl?
What about green tea, or is this included in the 'avoid tea'.

I am having real trouble with this diet, and I hate driking plain milk, dont eat alot of cheese and yohgurt normally so no wonder why I have two boys according to this theory! hehe.

thanks.

Hi sharnz

We are TTC a girl too - just starting this month. I read that peppermint tea is OK to have while trying for a girl.

I just had an appt with my FS today (I take Clomid to make me O) and asked her if there's anything I can to to increase my chances of having a girl and her response was "no - its a 50-50 chance". Feeling a little disheartened but still going to do a few things to maybe help our chances.

Default thanks

Thanks for that.
The way I see it is anything is worth a shot!
Ive had the two boys without trying anthing, and the more I read up on theories eg. the diet, ovulation theory, shallow vs deep penetration all those make me realise why I had two boys, as both times I was doing all the things that theoretcially would be to conceive a boy, all without knowing, so this time im hopeing doing the opposite of the first two times will work!

I dont like peppermint boohoo
Im really going to struggle not having my hot drinks

desperatly wanting a !! hehe

ETA: MODS - opps! I meant to post this in the TTC & Gender Swaying Thread...

So...I couldnt do temps on Friday or Saturday, ad only put yesterday's in the chart today....but according to thechart I ovulated on Wednesday!! That is Day 10 and incidentally the day we actually DTD lol thinking it would be long enough from O not to make too much difference!

So apparently my 2ww is not a 2 week but an 18 day wait....which I am 5 days into without realising! lol

Im just not sure why the chart didnt tell me I had O'd on Thursday when I put the temps etc in...? It gave me a green light on wednesday, anotherr reason we DTD, but only today has it said I was actually ovulating...is that odd?
Until Friday had been quite good with this charting thing lol

The question is really though that I have had another temp drop similar to that on Wednesday...so should I get an OPK and see if I am actually Oing today? I am on Day 15...

That is confusing LimeSlice! Is it possible that there was something else causing the dip? An OPK might help you figure that out.
It's pretty unusual to ovulate twice isn't it...

With charting, do people use any old thermometer from the supermarket, or do you need a 'good' one? I think mine is pink with Cinderella on it? How very adult of me...you can see why I am in here learning about how to get a girl after my boys.

Default Hello Ladies

Hello there,

Well good luck everyone with your TTC your little man or woman.

I myself are TTC a little boy if possible. I already have a little girl who is 3 and I quite honestly would be happy with a healthy baby of either sex but my DH would love a little boy.

so anyway I have a question in relation to OPK and CM. hopefully some of you ladies can give me your imput.

my cycle is usually 29 days or so. so last week I did a OPK (my first ever one) on day 13 thinking that I would ovulate on day 15. It came up positive and then I started getting my usual cramps that i get when i ovulate. so i figured i had 24-36 hrs before O. I then did a test 6 hrs later and it was negative. I was really worried I was going to miss my O.
I dont usually get much CM and when trying to test for the BBT in the past I kept forgetting so i gave that up.
anyway so i gave it 12 hrs and BD that night (thurs) thinking thats within the limits for a boy. The next morning (friday) I felt some twinges so we BD again. i had cramps all day again.
The next day (saturday) i actually got some EWCM which lasted until Sunday afternoon. so we BD again on Sunday morning.
so sorry to tell you my saga but Im just confused as to when my actual O was!!
can your EWCM come late? Im thinking if i wasnt getting much CM prior to O then the sperm wouldnt have made it anyway....any advice girls???

thanks for listening....

Jeepers! LOL

As for your OPK it may be that your urine was less concentrated the 2nd time around. Did you test the next day or only that once and then 6hrs after? It is quite possible you were catching the VERY beginning of your surge.

TBH, I would say you O'd late Saturday.

When TTC a boy if the best attempt you should keep BD to a minimum (about 4 days abstinance is gives the best sperm cound which also favours boy sperm) and only with EWCM.... So if you haven't fertile CM then you probably aren't O'ing... Don't panic, your body will tell you when you are O'ing.

xx

Question 36 waxing

Thanks Tanya,

Well I have some strange pains going right about now, around my right ovary.
I would love them to be implantation pains. It would be around day 7.
I wonder if you get ovulation pains then you'd think you'd feel something if you had implantation.
did / does anyone get implanation pains? is it a common thing?
