| | TTC & Gender Swaying #3
This thread is for members who wish to discuss methods such as diet, intercourse timing and altering the vaginal environment in order to TTC a baby of a specific gender.
There is an article on the Shettles Method here if you want to find out more about intercourse timing and positions to maximise your chances of concieving a specific gender. In order to use the Shettles method you will need to have an understanding of charting your cycle. You can find an article about charting here or discuss it with others in our Charting Your Cycle Forum.
If you're experiencing feelings of gender dissappointment there is a discussion about this topic here and an article about it here
The previous thread can be found here.
Good Luck!!!

Hi everyone,
We we will be TTC in Sept and I would really love to try for a girl. (well if it doesn't happen and we have a boy again, then so be it, but would still like to try for a girl.) Anyway, I read you can take calcium and magnesium, now what I was wondering how many do you take of each??
Jillian, I noticed you took them, maybe you could help???
TIA |

Just a question about the Cranberry Tablets can't remember who it was maybe ~Shoegal~, were you taking them or was DH taking them? Kaz I'd also be interested in the answer to that question, maybe take what it says on the side of the bottle, not quite sure. DH has read the food to eat and food to avoid and he's going to give it a try, also can someone refresh my memory about pH levels for a girl, for both DH and myself. Also does DH take the calcium and magnesium supplements?
hugs xoxo

Hi girls. I have 2 girls and a boy and thought for sure last girl would be a boy, because it was right on O or just after, so was shocked when at 20 week scan showed a little girl, we started TTC actively Sept last year and thought I may try for a little girl again, since then 2 MC and now don't care less what we get as long as we get a bubby and its healthy. I was going with DTD well before O and was chasing a girl because I have more enjoyable less sickie prg. Good luck to you all, hope you get your pink or blue bubby that you are chasing.

Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be ttc in the next few months hopefully, that is once my body cycles normally again after a miscarriage.
I do know that there are no guarantees as to what sex you'll end up with but we were trying for a boy (and we had one) the last time using both position (doggy) and abstinence leading up to ovulation time and I reduced my dairy intake significantly including no chocolate! Our two girls were conceived in the missionary position. It all sounds very personal I know, talking about positions etc but it worked for us.
I also looked at chinese lunar calendar predictions and I've found them to be fairly accurate amongst friends and family, myself included.
I didn't know about any methods of gender prediction prior to our last attempt so it is all fairly new to me but I will be looking further into it in the coming months so we have a better chance for that longed for baby boy. That said, I just want a healthy baby as an outcome... besides I have two girls already born in opposite seasons so we're set for clothes .

i just thought that I would pop my head back into this thread and say that DH and I were trying for a boy this time and we got one, we DTD doggy style, i O'd before DH and we only had unprotected sex the day of O. It holds up to the theory of boy spermies, but I dont know if it was really that or just good luck.

Congratulations Ali! Good luck with your bundle in blue when he arrives.
I believe that when we conceived our boy it was on ovulation day too as I'm spot on with 28 day cycle. Perhaps a combination of ovulation date and position does produce boys??? I'll be giving it a go again in a few months time hopefully.

Well DH and I have started trying for our pink bundle, we are doing the timing, I'm doing the diet with calcium and magnesium supplents and we are both taking cranberry tablets for more acidic pH, so hopefully we'll be pg soon.
It's just so scary, lol.

I do hope to at least concieve this month it was when i was due withthe baby i m/c.

Lanena.. do you remember what day you stopped at with your first pregnancy. Sorry to hear it didnt go well. My fingers are crossed for you this time round!
Thanks Amanda.. ill be praying for all of us! What method are you using?
Thanks Shoegal! Have you tested yet?
Not sure what our method is called, but im going by a book my sister lent me called "Choose the sex of your baby - The Natural Way" by Hazel Chesterman-Phillips. She used it to get a girl and it worked after having 2 boys! We're just doing what my sister did, the undies thing to adjust sperm count and the timing ( dtd every second day after AF until well im thinking either 2-3 days before O). My only problem is like Lanena my cycle has been all over the shop lately. Last month it was only 24 days, previously its usually between 27-30 days. So am using OPK and CM to know when to stop.. its all so tricky!!
