Talking OMG... she put herself to sleep! Without one single tear!!!!

I am just in awe right now!!!

We started a night routine last night. We never had one, pretty much our routine was once Jazz got cranky, we put a night nappy on her, put her on the boob, and then to bed. It was never very effective, and usually ended in tears from me and her as I laid down with her and fed her to sleep after unsuccessful attempts to rock, pat, sing, shhhh and whatever else to get her to sleep!

Last night we started: shower, massage, brush hair, read story, turn down lights, turn on lullabies, rock in rocking chair, and booby in rocking chair.

We had about 2 hours of trrying to get her to sleep last night, lots of tears as we rocked her, patted her... etc lol... we started at 6pm last night, and she was in bed asleep at 8pm.

She woke at 1am, 4am, and 5am, and then we we got up for the day. That in itself is a miracle, as she is a 2-hourly waker/feeder at night.

We also started a nap routine of feeding in the rocking chair with her lullabies on. No tears AT ALL. Her day sleeps today were 8am-10am, 2.30pm-4.10pm.

We also had NO TANTRUMS today!!!!!!

Tonight we started at 7pm (because she slept until 4.10pm). She was ASLEEP by 7:55pm. NO TEARS WHAT-SO-EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND, as if this could get better, i put her down drowsy but awake (just to see, i expected tears but she seemed so sleepy that I thought it was worth a try).

She waved me bye-bye, I walked out and shut the door, and not a single peep single. Not even shuffling or rustling of bedding It's 8:20pm, and SHE'S ASLEEP.

Elizabeth Pantley, you are my hero. Seriously.

Elizabeth Pantley is the author of the "no cry sleep solution" plus her toddler / toilet training / discipline books and she is fabulous!!!! Simple but effective techniques that adjust to where you are up to in your parenting path. No step by step routine but some suggestions that can be mixed and matched to suit you and your child. Small things that can make a HUGE difference in a very short time frame.

Can you tell we have been having some success

And a big wooooo hooooo for Jazz!!!!!
