Default Woohoo!!!

I love love LOVE seeing all my hard work & patience pay off. OK.. I might be speaking a little too early here LOL.. but still

Kayla just put herself to sleep on our bed!! Hopefully no more rocking to sleep! I've known recently that rocking to sleep was starting to not work anymore, it was becoming a bit of a battle. But I've been reluctant to move to the next step, which I thought was going to be me lying down on the bed with her... because I always fall asleep and then I miss out on my ME time! LOL. I had tried this before btw.. but that became a battle too, so I knew she wasn't quite ready. But I knew we were transitioning to something soon!

Anyway last night I'd just had it. I'd been rocking her while watching TV and it was just taking forever. She was so darn tired, was crying and was cranky, I just said that's it.. go to bed. She did cry last night.. but.. she stayed in the bed (which gave me hope!) and I ended up just getting ready for bed and going to bed with her.. she then slept through from 11ish to nearly 7am!! (yay!!)

Then for her sleep just now I figured I'd put her straight to bed after a feed. She got up a fair bit, but soon as i went in there she knew to lie down again (cheeky girl). Then I got her a toy to hold onto.. and she played with it for a bit and went to sleep! Woohoo! No battle.. just a bit of patience (checking on her every few minutes and getting her to lie down).. and most importantly... NO TEARS!

My hopes are up soooo high that she's going to keep this up.. LOL. But I'm going to enjoy it for now anyway

YAYAYAYAYAY!

hmm... well tonight... we had a lot of tears But we've been having tears with rocking to sleep lately too... so I decided to persevere. I did lie down with her now & then and I got her up at one stage too. But she wouldn't rock to sleep, so back to bed it was. Few more tears, but then she went off. She was so tired & cranky.. she was blowing raspberries at me at one stage LOL. If I went and lay down with her tho she'd start happily chatting. So I just stuck with popping in there every couple of minutes... to lie her back down if she was sitting up.

But she stayed on the bed which was good, and she wasn't too upset, just a general cry/sook. Think I was expecting too much since this morning's sleep was such a breeze LOL. Aah well, we'll get there!
