Red face Cant stop her from bitting

Hi All

Hoping you can help DD is 7.5 months old and have 4 very sharp teeth already, I think she is getting 4 more.

She started teething at 5 mths and never bit till she had all 4 (she has two middle bottom, and two either side up top missing the middle) everytime she bites i say a very stern NO and wait for her to let go or with my thumb push on her chin.

She has bitten once so bad that i bleed and it took 10days to heal. that time i flicked her ear (which i feel like the worse mother for doing) but she would no let go and refused to feed her for three hours this seemed to work and she didn't bite for 2 weeks then she started again.

I have tried giving her sm33 before feeds and teething tablets but it dosent seem to make any difference.

I am at the point that i am scared to feed her i really want to continue but i did buy the first tin of fourmula this morning.

Is there any know ways of stopping her or should i just give up and put her on the bottle??

thanks hope you can help

It is a terrible phase isn't it? My Daughter bit for a while. In fact she periodically bit me when she was teething. When she bit me i would say No and put her on the floor. Not sure it was very effective, but the biting did get better. Possibly b/c she stopped teething. Oh the other thing i'd do was give her something suitable to chew on instead.
I don't think there is a miracle answer, but i think you'll find she stops when the teething stops.

Putting her on formula is only a decision you can make. I decided to persist and was very pleased i did. We fed for 15 months with a few weeks of biting during teeth.

Goodluck.

eta- welcome to BB!
