Thumbs down Bad reaction to Dermaveen Baby moisturiser

Hi all
I got some samples of the new Dermaveen Baby line from the parenting expo the other week.
We have used dermaveen before (ds has eczema and very dry skin) so I didn't think to do a patch test and just slathered it on him after his shower last night.
He started screaming and crying almost as soon as I finished and we had to put him back in the shower to wash the whole lot off.
I can't imagine what they could have put in the stuff, I would have expected it to be a milder version of their usual stuff, but there you go.
Just be careful, because you just never know
Cheers

Oh your poor DS.

Hope that he is feeling better now.

It is really unusual for Dermaveen to react with people - Make sure that you contact them and let them know. Also let them know what you use in the shower - there may have been some sort of reaction between the two IYKWIM.

Thanks Muppity,
I wasn't going to contact the company (couldn't see the point) but maybe I will.
We use conditioner on ds' skin instead of soap because it leaves it so much softer.
can't think how it could have reacted, but you it's possible, I guess.
Cheers

Was ther anything stand out in the ingredients compared to other products from Dermaveen? For example their eczema cream doesn't have any parabens wheich can cause reactions in eczema prone kids.

I used that on DS's face...and it burnt his skin.....went bright red and he was in pain, ended up weeping

Try Dermaid. It was made for the childrens hospital and works well.

Hope you little man is ok!

Wow, really? Did you contact them?
I just figured since we'd used the other version before and this was aimed specifically at babies there wouldn't be a problem.

No i didnt contact with them, just threw it to the back of the cupboard.

DS has really sensitive skin so i thought he just reacted badly to it, changed creams and moved on.

We only use sorbolene creme now and it works well.
