| | Birth Rights Rally - QLD
Hey all,
Following on from THIS thread, here is a list of those going from Queensland and discussion on travel arrangements.
Maybe we can all wear something purple or something else so we can recognise other BB members... maybe even have BB balloons! We'll definitely have to see if we can have a BB lunch somewhere after the rally.
If you are flying, bussing, or wanting to share transport, please post here!

I'm going.
I am flying from Brisbane either on the Sunday night or early Monday morning.
A road trip would have been fun but I have client due on the 9th of September so I have to be down and back!

Hi Queenslanders...
I have gotten myself organised and I hope that it's ok that I nominate as a Co-ordinator for South East QLD at least.. I am on the Gold Coast and hope to lend a hand to get as many people from this area to Canberra as possible. I will look into flight costs and if there are a few travelling on the same flights we can share cabs etc.. Anyone who is interested let me know. I will post any info I find at a later time.
I have created myself a new Email address especially for this and you can contact me at mybirthmychoice@live.com.au
Anyone can also contact me on 0414726530
I have set this number up especially for this purpose

For anyone who is interested. There has been talk of a get together of BB members afterwards so we maybe need to take that into consideration when booking flights. I have had a look at Virgins website and at the moment the most appropriate flight is at 6.30am ex Brisbane for $139 flight DJ1206 and then the only direct return flight is
5.35pm for $119 or there's flights via Sydney at 5.00pm or 7.00pm for $119 as well. Maybe we should get an RSVP list for people wanting to fly here so others know what's going on. RSVP
Lilmiss - Gold Coast
Sara - Brisbane
Dawn - and sister

Hey there - has anyone thought of doing a mini rally the same day in Brisbane for those who can't there? At a hospital or the Gov Office and ring to get local TV coverage? I know alot of large families who homebirth in the Brisbane area who would get there but the logistics of getting to Canberra a near impossibility. Just a thought?

I'm not sure Sara you think she would know... maybe we should contact her anyway, we need to get as many people helping as possible. I have been in touch with Leigh D1ck Reid, he only found out about this through a BB email and wants to talk to me further to do something, he left me a message need to call him back... we need to dig out all of our contacts and get them coming along...

A reply from Claire's management: Quote:
Hi Sara-Jayne,
Clare has been pretty active getting the word out there so far with emails to her email list, twitter and web-site etc, and i dont think thats going to end any time soon.
Unfortunately she is overseas during the rally so wont be able to get to it though.
Here's hoping it will have an affect though!
Cheers,
Marty
| Unfortunate that she can't be there but any type of word makes a difference!

I am going to fly down on the day also, so perhaps we could try and arrange to catch the same flight etc???? I have a friend who may be coming also.
